sup guys I've recently had the pleasure of smelling the edt version of midnight in Paris and I must say I like it very much, however, the question of getting the edp or edt comes into play....so my question to you fume heads in your opinion which is better?

If you use the search box in the upper right, I think you should be able to find a few threads on this topic. I was wondering about the same thing myself a little while ago and ended up getting the EdT. I haven't tried the EdP though.

FragranceNet.com sells both versions at a big discount.

the EDP starts off heavier and thicker. The EDT seems a bit "brighter" at the beginning.

Pretty much the same. The EDP has more staying power and the difference in price is not that great from what I remember.

The EDP, which I own, smells pretty much the same as the EDT. The EDP, however, is thicker/bolder and lasts 3x as long (12+ hours) on my skin in the cold weather.

I picked up a bottle of the EDP at Fragrancenet this week. With the Basenotes 15% off discount is was something like $46 shipped for the 4.2 oz. Can't beat that deal.

I've only smelt the edt but I've heard many prefer the edp over it

OP: First off, have you tried Bulgari Black?

I tried both formulations of Midnight in Paris the other day (EDT is fresher up top, EDP is a bit richer). I liked it well enough but I decided against purchasing it for several reasons. (1) For some reason I find nearly every fragrance that Oliver Polge is involved with totally underwhelming--the frustrating bit is that they are not BAD. It's almost as though he gets lazy and loses his motivation in the home stretch. This, like so many others, could have been 'great' but instead it's just 'nice'. (2) Midnight is WAY to similar to Bulgari Black for me to justify purchasing it. (3) Instead of enjoying this fragrance, each time I caught a whiff I wished I were wearing Black or I was reminded that this was not Black.

Granted, Black has a prominent burning rubber note (I would argue that this fragrance replaced that with a light leather accord). The overall effect is very similar. I'm not discouraging your purchase but I would give Black a try before you make up your mind.

I prefer the EDP over the EDT for sure.

thank you sir for your honest opinion! I have tried the black and mip edt I like the both of them however the mip had a more wow effect I don't know if it is because my Armani code is really low and I could get the 2 fragrances in one but what concerns me is if the edp is better.... there is no way I could sample it so I needed an honest opinion

go with the EDP...get it from fragrancenet (really ridiculously cheap price) and you won't regret it.

Or you could always order a sample:

$4 for 0.7 ml from Lucky Scent or $3.00 for 1 ml from The Perfumed Court...

Go with the EdP longevity and projection are a beast. Also to my noise the EdP is richer and more creamier than the EdT. Definitely my favorite fragrance received countless comments from females on this one. I would easily pay the $115 retail for this. Fragrancenet has it dirt cheap so go ahead and get it. I used a 20% code and got it for about $42.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the code for 20% off? At these prices I might pick up another bottle or two.

I got the EDT for like $33 on fragrancex. 75ml. I chose the EDT because A) that's a sweet deal. and B) because it's not as thick and creamy as the EDP. I wanted something that I could wear in seasons other than just winter. Since I've never smelled the EDP, I have no idea if I made the right choice! But at $33, I'm not that worried about it.

What a beautiful bottle.

I've never smelled the EDP either and am hoping that it doesn't amp up the powder that the EDT has.

yeah I read that it does. I don't love powdery frags, the EDT is my limit.

On my skin, the EDP does not get powdery at all.
