So I want to smell like a garden

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
Lately I'm developing a crave for green scents. I want to smell like a garden. In my current wardrobe, I can only have this effect with L'ombre dans L'eau, Elizabethan Rose & the very very brief opening of Philosykos.
I'm looking for suggestion on scents that create that garden-y, green and somehow vegetable effect.
Please help me out

+1 Temps d'une fete (as well as other green florals like Silences, Metal, Chamade, Ormonde Jayne Tiare).
Also, Diptyque Jardin Clos.

These days, I see myself gravitating towards green florals a lot.

different types of gardens out there:

Angelique Sous La Pluie smells very green light and of fresh green leaves and plants - my favorite garden scent
Sycomore smells like a mossy deep forest green
L' Humaniste smells like a crisp green fresh grassy garden situation
Secret Garden from Aftelier smells like a garden full of flowers
Forte plus Forte by Profmi del Forte smells like a mediterranean herb garden
Maestrale by Profumi del Pantelleria - a mediterranean garden by the sea

+1 Eau de Campagne

Miller-Harris, Fleurs de Bois for green woods & de-sweetened white flowers

It depends so much on what aspect of the garden you want to smell like. My suggestions:

Green: Eau d'Italie Jardin de Poete
Floral: (my current favorites) Creed Windsor or EdP Lys Mediterranée
Vegetal/Leafy: Heeley Figuier
Dirt: Givenchy III

Creed Jardin d'Amalfi

Live Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent - One is initially treated to a citric blast of bittersweetness from tangy grapefruit and zesty lemon. Sweet spearmint invades the citrus duet, and, with its brightness, fosters a refreshing and cooling sensation. This invigorating medley brews for a spell before meandering to the adaptive middle. Here, in the heart, heaps of coriander, with its spicy and faintly sweet grassiness, commingle with the tart and vegetal rhubarb leaf, and envelop the opening concoction infusing it with warmth and greenness. A faint strawlike something twinkles in the background, along with the minty citrus. Transitioning to the waiting base, dusty and dry cedar, somewhat floral and honeyed ambergris and a tinge of vanilla intermingle to generate a pleasing drydown. This all-season composition has average projection, after an hour becoming a skin scent, and longevity, 5-8 hours. In view of the foregoing as well as its favorable price point and wonderful versatility, an enthusiastic "thumbs up" is warranted.

Guerlain's Après l'Ondée was created with the idea of a garden after the rains in mind.

For me, Apres L'Ondee by Guerlain. A walk through a damp field of herbs and flowers!

EDIT: Gandhajala and I were on the same wavelength!! Look at the times of our posts.

Hindu Grass is good. I just tried that this weekend. Why do I have to like all the spendy ones?

Demeter - Grass. I got a sample of this after reading about it in a similar thread a while back. It is a bit synthetic and somewhat fleeting unless a lot is used, but it's true to its aim.

another vote for Eau De Campagne but I'll add...

Jardins De Kerylos (sophisticated green floral and leafy fig)
Givenchy III (dirty-clean greeeeeeen chypre)
Paco Rabanne Metal (green hiacynth)
Jardin Du Poete (again)
Carillon Pour Un Ange (grassy notes and muguet)
Bel Respiro (airy green floral)
Futur (extremely bitter green floral)
Baime (challenging basil centered composition)
Papyrus De Ciane (galbanum, leaves, incense...)
Aube Pashmina (green green and green)

+1 Baime

For a lighter, sunnier take on the garden you should check out Premier Figuer by Micallef.

Pyxis by scents of time is a minty floral garden - a modern chypre that leans slightly feminine but could be pulled off by a guy comfortable w/ scents such as Le Male / Fahrenheit 32 (not that it smells like either, just similar sweetness levels)

Also, Six Scents Series 2 No. 5 is a great garden scent if you like fennel at all. Very green and very natural, this one.

Another to check out is an upcoming Michael Storer release, Giardino Sport. It has a great woody petitgrain note, a hint of milky florals, all over a fresh and green/garden-like base (I get some basil, maybe a hint of tomato leaf, galbanum). If you've smelled Bond's Eau de New York (a wonderful neroli-oriented composition) it is similar but more woody and green and masculine.

Oh, another to check out is Bond's Central Park.

Adding to all the great recommendations: Eau de Camille, AA Herba Fresca, Sous le Vent, Balmy Days and Sundays, CdG Calamus, Molinard Fleurs de Figuier (the latter three with a milky facet), Le Parfum du Therese.

You can't go wrong with everything Diptyque, with the exception of Eau Duelle which is more so vanilla.
