Best pound for pound fragrance

I would like to hear what you guys consider to be the best pound for pound fragrance. Like with the original boxing concept consideration needs to be given to the weight of the fighter, or in this case, its price. This doesn't exclude expensive frags but for it to be selected it better be super-mega-turbo awesome! If you can't pick just one then give us a top 3.

Looking forward to hearing your contenders!

Estee Lauder Azuree, $45 for 75 ml. Not my very favorite, perhaps, but very close, and with that price, hard to beat

I guess this excludes the lucky vintage finds at antique stores, in which case my Bandit, Joy and Diorissimo parfum would beat pretty much anything in sight.

It's not my favorite by far and I seldom wear it, but Green Irish Tweed has to be in with a shout for a higher priced category.

Cuir by Lancome - Upon application, one is treated to an ephemeral, citrus accord of the bitter orange of bergamot as well as the sweetness of mandarin. Coupling with a smoky leather, reminiscent of nubuck, an alluring suede drifts to the spicy floral of the middle. Here, in the enthralling heart, whispers of seductively sweetish jasmine, sweetly fishy hawthorn, creamy and sweet ylang ylang, cloak the comforting, soft leather with their lovely, floral melange. Mystical saffron bathes the blend in its somewhat medicinal and creamy character, and leads the wondrous concoction to the waiting base. An enabling orris, a balsamic and vanillic styrax, a warmly herbaceous and earthy patchouli, and woody birch, all commingle, enhancing the leather aura. An awesome drydown ensures. This elegant composition has restrained projection and very good longevity. Cognizant of its inexpensive price point and its fine leather quality, this handsome fragrance should be a welcomed addition to one's wardrobe.

In the lightweight category, Rive Gauche.

In the heavyweight category, Puredistance M. I swear you could stretch a 1ml sample of that stuff for three weeks.

IMO, Halston Z-14 at $10 for 75 ml is a steal
post #22 of 70
hmmm, depends on where you get them though. Like some places have Midnight in Paris for a crazy low price in which case P4P it's a God. Some places have it for retail price which is expensive.

Azzaro Chrome is generally cheap and normal people love it.

Spicebomb...$100 for 90mL...
or, Jazz it's like $20 for a liter or so. :-)
Personal pick: Gengis Khan 100ml for $70 (old formula)
Contender from the heavyweight class: Creed Windsor

Contender from the middleweights: Caron The Third Man

My top three pound for pound are Fahrenheit, Rive Gauche and M7...

Jean Marie Farina. Very classy, and the 500ml bottles can be got for £60. Which P4P puts it in Adidas territory.

The Carons are also amazing value.
There is no doubt in my mind. Montale Black Aoud with extra concentration is the heavyweight king.

Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene - punches way above his weight class, that's for sure.

Do peruse through this thread. Its a really good thread for lack of a more colloquial way of describing them (perfume and thread).

This would be my pick also. I'd pay double the price for it.

Rive Gauche EDT
Well, let me be the 30th person to say it- Rive Gauche. It's fresh, masculine, and can be used in nearly every situation. It may be the perfect male fragrance. Not to say there aren't 'finer' scents out there, but this rates highly in nearly every category you can think of (longevity, sillage, compliments, uniqueness, etc) and I stocked up on the 125ml black and silver cannisters for just over $30USD each before they switch over. Probably the best value dollar-wise in fragrance, period.

A very good argument here. I'd add to the conversation:
Ho Hang Club - cheap price, swank bottle, brother to Rive Gauche and The Baron
Old Spice - set the standard, megalongevity, dirt cheap, still essential
Derby - at the higher priced end, this takes on all comers
post #47 of 70
After blindly buying it and smelling it.....Thallium Black is phenomenal. Pound for pound it's up there with the best very. It's fruity, sweet seriously reminds of a the Pure Malt opening with the booze. That's how good this stuff is, and it's ridiculous cheap for 3 oz (20-30 bucks). I think this is a top contender for P4P king.

From my limited experience I would go for GIT. Just a nose hair ahead of RGph.

Carnal Flower is my champion of the heavyweights. It's a fragrance that justifies every cent of its price IMO. I never knew I liked white flowers until I found you, oh Carnal Flower!
I don't know about pound for pound, but Green Irish Tweed and Tonka Imperiale are my two favorites. However, Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin is a great value.
