From cafleurebon.com:

Sounds like a fragrance italians won't buy....

Peony-freesia, the worst flowers of perfumery. At least, no apparent marine note. When they reach Capri, of course, they'll be greeted by the photomodels posing for Light blue (if they haven't moved to the now more exclusive but more difficult to reach isle of Stromboli).

As well as people who don't buy non-French fragrances - but that goes without saying.

Such an ugly bottle.

.. for non Italian who might be confused by our geographic references: the isle of Capri is in front of the Costiera Amalfitana (near Naples). The Sirenuse hotel of Eau d'Italie fame is on the Costiera (so it makes sense that they talk of a boat to nearby Capri).

Capri, where, among others, the D&G duo has a big villa, was the set for the successful ad for Light blue (with the photomodels swimming on the background of the famous rocks). The recent flanker documented here on BN carries instead the name of the island of Stromboli, where the duo also has a villa, which is off Sicily and harder to get to. (And, as discussed, for Italian there's no pizza reference - we don't have Strombolis in our cuisine, it's just one of these American things, like Alfredo sauce and the like).

Neither do I, and I also agree: Eau d'Italie needs a radical bottle makeover.

I like the bottles. I didn't used to, but now I find them sort of classical.
Will look forward to trying this.

thanks for the info ...

I'm ambivalent about Eau D'italie, but it should be fun to check out

Worst bottles for a niche house. Worst bottle and package combo in recent memory.

I'd actually be pining for a bottle of Baume du Doge if it wasn't so damn hideous. This is the only time I can think of where I'd actually prefer to have a decant of a scent.

Why is this in the male fragrance board?
