Creed Vintage Tabarome!!!

I came across something on ebay that someone in the US may be interested in. I would bid but the guy only ships in the US.

Creed Vintage Tabarome in green flacon.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Taba...item33744b4d2c

I'm eager to buy a sample to see what this stuff smells like. I read great things about it here.

I would like to sniff it too. I dont know Creed well enough but isnt the name Tabarome labeled onto the decal ?
Thankfully already have this in my collection. Sure someone will soon snatch it up.

O. M. G. I own a flacon, and I am tempted to jump on this one, too. DAMN!

Noticed that as well.

Your one of the lucky ones. I have yet to sniff this stuff. I really want to bad and get a decant down the road if I ever get a chance.

Well if that's the case, then I'll want a decant lol

I'm sorry ebay is filled with idiots, why start a bidding war so early in the game. I would have waited till the last 5-10mins tbh.

I've seen it online for around $1100 per ounce. This bottle is 7+ ounces. Wow.

Amazing. This might be one of the most sought after discontinued frags that I have seen since I started here. I'll try and keep tabs on the bids.

Anyone wants to go 50/50? lol

I used to have 2 flacons of this stuff that I bought from that ebay seller Creeddirect who was liquidating all their Creed stock many years ago. I decanted one out here on Basenotes and sold the other one a long time ago to another Basenoter (DustB where are you??). Interestingly I was going through my old emails and was shocked at how much I paid for each flacon. $150!!!! This was way before discontinuation and before this was hyped beyond belief on Basenotes.
Also a few months ago I auction listed one of my full 2.5 oz testers of Vintage Tab on ebay and it sold for $769.
I'm interested to see how much this one sells for.
It is a great fragrance but the price it sells for is shocking.

You wouldn't have any stashed away would you?

I do still have one unused 2.5 oz tester and one 10 ml decant. Not sure what I want to do with it as I hardly ever wear it but I can't bear getting rid of my last bottle either.

The first thing a bidder will have to assume is that the VT flacon has not been tampered with in any way. Next, you'll have to sweat the shipping, which is no small feat. I've had about 4 flacons leak, 2 of them Les Floralies and Angelique Encens, 25-30mls! If the flacon was sealed there is no doubt in my mind that it would fetch upwards of 2K on eBay (it still might!). I noticed TPC was decanting VT at about $25 per ml. I do think it is one of the better men's fragrances I've smelled and worn but it is not for everyone or all occasions.

Is Vintage Tabarome more rare and expensive than Patou Pour Homme?

Hard to imagine anything being $1100/oz being worth that price. Over $30/ml??

Do not blind buy this. Well, not unless you want to smell like the farts of a thousand old Englishmen.

Yes, ,y budget for buying bling is 750.00
post #22 of 36
Yes, it is rarer and more expensive. But rare and expensive have nothing to do with whether you'd want to wear it.

My collection of VT bottles is worth more than the castle I have them stashed in.

Haaaaaaaaaaa

I would not want to even wear something this expensive. But I am interested to see what this goes for.

Ha, yes, a very good point.

Really, I don't even want to try something that rare and expensive. What do you do if you absolutely fall for it, if it's your fragrance soul mate?
I have some at home, if you want to try it tomorrow. I make fun of it, but truthfully it's a good scent. I just can't imagine leaving the house smelling like it.
I swam competitively when I was a kid and VT has a chlorine-swimming pool note on my skin that makes me queasy. Great to own for reference purposes but there's no way I would wear it.
If i ever get the chance I'll obviosuly sniff this but I'm not going to go out of my way to find a bottle of this stuff. I'm also interested to see what the final price for this is, if someone buys this now, imagine the profit they would make in a few years....
I think it is one of the most sought after discontinued fragrances today?
$910, two hours left. . . have to say, I am tempted. It really is fine stuff, and if this kind of purchase fits your budget. . . mmmmmm. . .
Ok I put in my bid for $3000. Everyone should stop bidding now.

It's at 1028.90 with 11 minutes to go (over 4.50/ml) and I'm thinking there is likely be a furious bidding finale here in the final seconds!!

Did anyone from Basenotes win or at least bid? There is no way that I would pay $1,388 for a fragrance, my mind would never come to terms with it.....
Congratulations to the lucky bidder. The price of VT will only go higher. A superb investment, at a good price. Good work!

I won! I can't find the ticket though. I've looked everywhere except my pant pockets.
