Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. Is it suitable for college age?

Or does it lean towards the mature/old fashioned side?

And based on my preferences, do you think I will like it? I have a swap offer, and can't go out and smell it and it would take too long to order samples.

Personally would choose something else - just me.

Well based on what you said on what you prefer and cannot stand, it sounds like you would'nt enjoy it. But who knows, if its a good deal then take a chance if you would like and see for yourself, it has resale value.

Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford - Upon application, one is immersed in a invigorating leather, quite similiar to new, nubuck shoes, exuding a soft, velvety smell. This wonderful leather appears to be superimposed on a fairly muted, nectarous and fruity cluster of raspberries. Reveling herbs, namely saffron and thyme, push this fruitiness aside, and infuse the leather with their own sweet and peppery as well as lemony and woody aspects. A faint floral sweetness from jasmine begs to be recognized, but succumbs to the nascent, citrus and pine of olibanum. This rich frankincense rises to tug at the supple leather, and in its zeal, a fleeting, terpene note is sensed. As opposition, a sharp woodiness from the amber counters with its own plea for supremancy. The coveted, subtle leather meanwhile basks in its elegance. Albeit somewhat linear, this appealing composition has good longevity and projection.

I own and enjoy Tuscan Leather.

If you like the smell of leather, get this fragrance.

The raspberry note that contrasts the new car leather note does give the fragrance a younger appeal. Imo it does not feel mature in anyway. The fragrances you mentioned cannot give a indication whether or not you are going to like it.

If you cannot wait for a sample or have no means of testing it in a store it is going to be a gamble. Good luck.

Tuscan Leather is a straightforward and direct leather. It is nowhere as sharp as Black Aoud, but it is somewhat sharp. Plus, there's nothing with leather or even dark woods in your likes (even things like LADDM are in the "hard" categories), so my prior is that at the moment this is not your style.

That said, I like leathers a lot and TL is a good example and perfectly ok for a younger person, though in the leather category my favorites are different (Bandit, Knize Ten, Rien, etc.)

According to your likes and dislikes, you're the perfect customer for Tuscan Leather. Enjoy it.

TL is a modern style leather that does not smell old fashioned at all

But, based on what you noted that you do not like- I question whether you will like TL

I think it's suitable for college age. The part that concerns me is whether or not you'll like it. Honestly, I'd swap if you think it's a good deal.

Have you tried Ambrr Absolute?
Dark smokey incense amber.
It isn't youthful per se but I would not call it mature either.
More mature than Aventus (a different animal actually) but may have more of what you are looking for than Tuscan Leather (except of course, the leather).

Edit- I apologize, I missed the line about not liking incense prior to posting.

It's fine for the younger crowd. It doesn't smell particularly mature to me.

It's fine for college. I wear leather oud and oud cuir d'arabie to class no problem.
