I wore Aventus at 2:00 PM, had a high-end and pleasruable haircut and beard trim, and came out looking like Leonidus and feeling pumped. Nothing makes you feel like a man than a fresh haircut and beard trim/shave and had some aftershave slapped on by my old-school barber.

Here is the dilemma. After 2 hours, went to Sephora, and tried some fragrances I never smelled -- Allure Homme Sport, Allure Homme Blanche Editione , Terre D'Hermes, and Platinum Egoiste.

I tried all these fragrances on my arms . Terre D'Hermes is the one that stuck out at "different" to me, and Blache had a lemon kind of smell.

I got two compliments within 15 minutes - one from a lady standing next to me with "You smell so good", and a dude who works in the area directing tourists, who I asked for directions to a store. He also said "Damn, you smell good" and asked what I was wearing.

Since I was wearing a concoction of several different fragrances, I just told him I tried on several stuff at a store and didn't know.

NOW, here is where YOU, Basenoters, can show your expertise.

I've never gotten a compliment wearing Aventus on it's own, so I don't think it was Aventus. I think it was one of the 4 afore mentioned designer frags I tried at Sephora that got that reaction.

Mind you, this is the first time I've been complimented ever on a cologne, as in LA it's rare for strangers to comment.

I don't count compliments from people you know, just strangers.

So which one(s) do you think probably elicited those compliments ? One of them ? Just the glorious mix of juices wafting from my herculean body ?

Your opinions are, as always, sought and appreciated.

If I had to guess, I would say Terre d'Hermes. I get complements on this one all the time.

Probably Terre d'Hermes; it is really the only one that projects at all besides aventus.

Egoiste. Ooops... Platinum Egoiste?..mmm idk but I'd still pick that one out of all of those. Not the first two scents listed. Sport and Blanche..naaa. Never smelled Aventus. Maybe you just need to make more trips to Sniffora, lol.

I think it was Aventus because it is Creed and everything and costs big $$$ so it have to be good. Also, once when I wore my sample of Aventus, bus of Russian pornstars stopped by and asked me for direction into hotel. When I came closer they dragged me into bus and raped me one by one. When I came back to my senses I saw just huge tits (cup D) hanging in front of my face and very hot blonde with sexy voice asked me what was my SOTD. When I said it was Aventus they raped me again and then I fell asleep. When I woke up I was in my bed at home and there was a small note on my desk with phone number and text: "Please send me batch code. Mandy Dee"

Well, you are not going to believe this but EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME THIS MORNING

I'd still wager on Aventus, but Terre D'Hermes is unique, so I guess it could be that. Or just a mix that must have freaked people out. You had so much going on, a french whorehouse would envy you.

Could be anything, you can't tell for sure. Could be the mixture of several things.
Volume gets you noticed and complimented.

I just came from the mall too, and am also covered in concoctions. People have been commenting on how nice I smell. I must have 5 different fragrances across my body.

Heheheh. Thank God for Creed! When I tried Himalaya it lasted almost an hour on me! But it is natural and cost only 200$. I think every man should have Creed in their collection because they are the best! lol

Aventus for sure. It's known to be a compliment getter and it's stronger than the other frags mentioned...especially if it's a 2011 batch.

I keep having the thought of TdH and Aventus together. Maybe not a layering scent, but I keep imagining TdH with pineapple in place of the citrus/orange... Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled program.

do not assume this. I am getting compliments quite often but i have to say that TdH is not high up on the list of fragrances that i get complimented on, especially in the 25-35 yrs old group. From the list you put (except Aventus which i do not own), i get most remarks on Edition Blanche. And on my skin it projects really good for the first 3 hours.

What i am saying is that you should try them again one by one, if you are curious which was the one. But remember: wear a fragrance because you really like it, not because you get complimented on. Also next time when someone says that you smell good, just ask him/her what it reminds of or what does it smell like (per example if he/she said lemon pie, you would of known its Blanche; if it was earthy oranges - TdH).

It is either Aventus+TdH, or Aventus+Allure Blanche. Will have definitive answer after testing today.

Probably the concoction of them all. If you sprayed ONE spray of each while sampling, I doubt any one of those would be strictly noticeable over the others, just my 2 cents
