First attempted purchase w/ Scent Monkey = disappointment

I had heard mostly positive things about Scented Monkey on here so when they were the lowest price I could find on Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. That was Saturday. Slow-forward to today, Wednesday at 5:32 pm and I receive an email informing me that they have refunded the money that I paid several days ago because the item I ordered is not in stock. Three full business days to realize that it isn't in stock? I guess the monkey is apparently in charge of inventory. Boooooo.

At least they gave you your deserved refund.

eh, that's no really so bad... I think it's reasonable for any company to take 2-3 days to process your order. at least they got back to you, told you there was a problem, and then refunded you. What more could you ask for?

So nothing really happened, not so bad. I dont think this should discourage anyone from using this website.

Sadly this also happened to me with Perfume Emporium. If it's not in stock, it should not be listed.

I really like Parfum1's method of inventory right on the site. They tell you how many of each item they still have.

You would think a company would have its available inventory up-to-date so that frustrations such as that experienced by the OP would not exist. Are we to always have doubts about ordering and 3 days hence being informed that it is out of stock? One can easily think that it is not a very professional way to run a business in those circumstances.

Its true, Scentmonkey can be annoying when they take several days to determine they do not actually have an item in stock. Fortunately, I do not think this happens frequently, though I've experienced it myself.

The fact of the matter is they, like many other online businesses, are not perfect but I've never been cheated, short-changed, or stiffed by them and they always make amends. That/s more than I can say for other companies. Plus, they provide a try-before-you-buy option which is absolutely invaluable (so many bad blind buys avoided!!)

You should give them another chance...

Scented Monkey also has an Ebay store which probably comes out of it's inventory first. Prices are about the same also. I've never had a problem with them and the out of stock problem is pretty common with almost any business.

At least they feedback to you. There are sites that cancel your order without saying a thing

I agree 100%. The inventory tracking system is a FUNDAMENTAL TOOL that should be working all the time. Customers don't want to be frustrated and have to work ... If the item is not in stock, it should be IMMEDIATELY removed and not be shown as available to potential shoppers.

Not perfect but sounds ok to me. Communicated well and refunded promptly.

This is my only problem with this company.
