Bvlgari extreme, extremely good formal?

I've heard quite a lot of praise for Bulgari Pour Homme Extreme as a great formal scent. Is it worth a the hype and a buy?

IMO, No.

Bulgari Black is the only one worth owning, if you were to only own a single Bulgari. A better fit for 'formal' might be Tom Ford Extreme or Boucheron Pour Homme or even Tiffany for Men.

I love Bvlgari extreme, it has gotten me many compliments over the years. I think it's extremely versatile and works well on a formal occasion. It's subtle yet classy at the same time. It doesn't have monster projection but the longevity is very good. Definitely worth checking out.

I Agreed with hednic, pretty ordinary frag, I am glad you don't believe everything you read, take care.

I was just going to start a thread about Extreme This was sitting on the back shelf at work and I am trying to try all the frags I always just pass up without giving them a chance.

I have to say I REALLY liked Extreme! Very classy and lasted a LONG time.. like well into the next day. Doesn't project incredibly well, but I found myself getting whiffs of it every so often. So I am basically just repeating what Checker just said.

The Bulgari line does not get much attention at my store since we don't have a rep come in to push it so it will only get some play if ppl actually come in and ask for it. I am going to make sure I show this one to guys who are looking for a classy, subtle frag.. what I tend to call a Boardroom fragrance

Give it a try.

To me no. Instead I'd buy Voyage D'Hermès, Bvlgari Soir, Prada Infusion D'Homme or Roadster.

my no:1 summer scent. very classy, refreshing, long lasting, formal..

Coincidentally my scent of the day today!

Although I really like this, I don't find it particularly 'formal'. In fact if anything I would suggest that it's more of an informal choice. Despite the 'extreme' moniker, it's pretty light going in the projection department and I would imagine that in a room full of formal people all wearing fragrances, Bvlgari Extreme would be pretty lost.

I perceive this scent far more like a casual gourmand, rather than suitable for formal wear

I love this one-- as well as Pour Homme and Soir (and actually, I enjoy everything in the Bulgari line, except Aqua and its flankers, though they're actually not terrible for aquatics). Extreme is really good, though the grapefruit note can be a bit difficult at times, whereas Pour Homme and Soir omit this note. I would definitely find this suitable for formal occasions.

I own it, and agree with those saying "no."

I'd say yes.

I have a bottle for sale if you're interested.

Good scent, though not particularly formal.

It's not good/great for any occasion.

Can't see why not. Pleasant and versatile like all Bvlgaris.

The original, extreme, black, and soir are the best from the Bvlgari line. I do not care for the aquatics and Bvlgari Man (which is putrid IMO)

IMO yes and yes

Good formal but not extremely.
