Good Morning,

How is everybody ?
SotD is Jicky (extrait).
Tonight I'm off to the ballet to see some new works - music will be perfomed live by Mark Ronson and Boy George, costumes designed by Gareth Pugh etc. Should be interesting! Not yet sure what I'll be wearing.

Have a lovely Thursday, all.

Good morning !. SotD is Acqua di Parma Mirto di Panarea.

Enjoy your evening, G.

Good job the company here is worth coming back for on a daily basis because this is virtually unusable at the moment (though admittedly I'm not exactly noted for my patience ). Off for some more sea air to banish the frustration. Back later ....

Morning all. Cuir Mauresque today.

Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier's Or des Indes.
Has everybody tried this and possibly found it as good as I do? It comes for an absolute steal, in particular stateside. It makes current Shalimar look very cheap. The reviews are very mixed here. I might agree about the leathery-metallic side of opoponax. I get lots of bergamot/citrus in the opening and I think it is rather unsweet, more dry, but soft and increasingly powdery with progression.

Great pics here today. Enjoy your evening, G.!
Best to all

I can't seem to get anything to post on here today, but let's
have another try!
I am enjoying the last few days of the Easter holidays relatively
pain-free now my back is healing nicely. I shall celebrate with some
vintage Arpege.

The problem seems to be sorted now!

Good morning!

The French Quarter Festival starts today, and I'll be enjoying the merriment in L'Instant de Guerlain. Y'all have a fantastic day!

gandhajala - I read about Carbon Life ...Wale and the Royal Ballet! I'll be curious to know whether that's a hit or miss, but it certainly sounds intriguing. Enjoy!
Evangeline! That looks so fun. I am working the second shift of a not-nice double. Still wearing APLS from hier soir. The stuff is tenacious, I'll give it that.

Good Morning, y'all! I started the day with Madame Rochas (hadn't smelled it in some time.) Always starts out reminding me of bug spray and then gets better. Later I think I'll go with Vol de Nuit, like ineespenses.

Kewart, very glad to know that you're feeling better. Continued best wishes to you.

Today I'm testing and enjoying Prada Candy. It's really lovely! Starts out caramel-sweet, similar to Pink Sugar, then grows powdery and sensual as benzoin and musk kick in. Very, very nice.

Wish you all a great day.
Cool photos of the double decker bus! We don't have them here.

Kewart, I'm glad you are not in pain any more.

It's a sunny, lovely day here but I have not yet chosen my scent. Still organizing my day's plans.
What nice pics today! Love the bus, and especially the New Orleans poster!
I'm celebrating the first day of my iris blooms by wearing FM Iris Poudre.
Gandhajala, enjoy the ballet tonight.

Larimar, I have not tried MP&G Or des Indes, but you make it sound very nice.

Evangeline, have fun at the festival.

I love all the pics, and everyone smells wonderful in here.

Im wearing Calèche from last night, but Im leaning toward Je Reviens today.
Hurray ! We're back. Thank you to Grant !

Gandhajala - lovely re. the ballet.
Danny- you like Routemaster buses ? This is for you !

I was pulled along to a Routemaster type festival long ago and never forgot it .
Evangeline- love that poster. One day I'll get to New Orleans.

Larimar- my scent of the moment is Absolue Pour Le Soir. For you ! One spray for now. Not really that skanky when sprayed but warm and ambery . Even a touch milky.

BBW Midnight Pomegranate, got this as a stocking stuffer I think. It's not so bad - I was afraid the BBW base was going to annoy me, maybe because is the body stray it's not so bad.

The Easter holidays start today, four days away from work!
I plan to do as little as possible!

I am wearing Prada Candy this evening,
scent twin with tdem1961!

Been in Chergui today, feeling I now have a wardrobe more suited to a Basenoter! Lol

Will wear A La Nuit a kind gift from Gandhajala from the rehoming thread. It's our 26th wedding anniversay and Mr Ali does like a big white floral
post #32 of 57
Back home tomorrow - been incredibly lucky with the weather (Jenny spoke to her mother just now and they were having thunder and hail back home).

G, this obliging soul decided to pose nicely for us by the entrance to Tresco Gardens this morning -

Pity to be heading back to reality but we still have the weekend to recover and we will be back tomorrow well in time to join Larimar for nibbles and vino

SotE is Cuir Mauresque.

Yaaaaaaaargh! Haven't been able to get in to see you all day!!

The SOTD thread yesterday was a particularly good one. Those incredible flowers!! I haven't read todays yet. I was just so relieved to get in. Really, life is too short to wait......and wait......

So SOTE is FM Iris Poudre. The last dribble from a sample. I think I would like to have this one.
Hello! Today I am sampling Gucci Rush, layered with Molinard Patchouli. Idunno. I was groggy and in a hurry this morning, so I'll be sniffing and applying the samples I have in my purse. For scenting and amusement. An "off' day. LOL

Hope all are well!
Danny / Mims - the Routemasters even reached New Zealand too. I took the first pic near Queenstown and the second on the outskirts of Christchurch (before the earthquake !).

Happy Anniversary, Alityke!
My box of goodies for the citric-green chypré sampling thread arrived today. So, I am and will be busy posting my SotD and SotE impressions there and doing rather the smalltalk here for the next week.
Jon, wine is reeeeeeeeeeeeeady, but Friday isn't.

SotD is YSL In Love Again which has quickly become a favorite of mine. It's almost a cross between L'Ombre Dans L'Eau and Rose Ikebana.
30 Roses, I love that YSL/Jean Claude Ellena creation too...I don't know why I don't own a FB.
Gandhajala - ooh you Londoners have the best performing arts scene...hope you enjoyed the show.
Larimar - that is one MPG I do not like. Opoponax and I are not friends, it seems.

I am in carnations today. This morning was:

L'Air du Temps (vintage EdT) by Nina Ricci

This afternoon it's:

Vitriol d'Ouillet by Serge Lutens

Fleurs d'Oranger this afternoon.

Jon - great pictures once again.

Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs Alitkye!

I got some Mor Cosmetics goodies for Easter so I gave the Marshmallow perfume oil a try. I was expecting lots of sweetness but it's quite powdery.....it's very pretty with a lovely rose note.
Mure Et Musc Extreme today, but I can't smell it, LOL. On the happier side I also could not smell the smoke from the wildfires burning north of us; co-workers were very bothered by it. On the negative side, there are wildfires burning north of us. Ack I do hate having a cold, have been irritable and not easy to get along with, I'm sure.
Busy icky day. I feel a sick coming on. Sigh.

So, Wrappings today for me. Comfort.

Interesting thread today!

Great pictures again, Jon, what a cool bird!

Kewart, so glad to hear your back is feeling better. Back pain is the worst.

Gandhajala, I hope you enjoyed the ballet. I've only been to the ballet once, but I loved it.

Congrats to Bke and Hednic on their milestones!

Twolf, I hope Mr. T feels better soon, I'm sure with a little tlc from you he'll be fine.

((kewart)) I hope you feel better

Happy annyversary Alytyke!

Congratulations to kbe, 15000 posts is quite a milestone. I just noticed hednic has 21000 (!!!!). I am glad you are here at Basenotes.

Today I wore Idylle Duet (not the new one: Duet Lilas, or whatever it is called )
My 1950s Ode by Guerlain EdC showed up today. Unfortunately I broke the neck of the bottle trying to open it. Desperately looking for the thread on how to open vintage bottles, oh well. It smells delicious.
