Never done this before - read up on some perfumery basics, but many unknowns I need guidance on. Doing 2 oz bottles of Eau de Toilette or Cologne. Guests to select 1 of 3 fragrance families I'll offer and add "notes."
1) Do/can you add distilled water to perfumer's alcohol to tone down alcohol smell? If so, how much?
2) Are some perfumer's alcohol brands better than others? If yes, which?
3) Can you pre-fill perfume bottles with perfumer's alchohol and then add base, middle & top notes? Or, is there a "correct" method of doing this?
4) If making 2 oz bottles of Eau de toilette or cologne, how many drops of base, middle & top notes would be appropriate?
5) Should i pre-prepare bottles of base notes that are best with certain fragrance families and let guests select their middle & top notes?
6) I'm open to all suggestions and so appreciate help here. Also appreciate this marvelous site!!!
Thank you, Merci, Grazie, Gracias, Domo Arigato, Tak!
