New Fragrance: Carolina Herrera - CH Men Sport

From nstperfume.com:

Carolina Herrera will launch CH Men Sport, a new flanker to 2009′s CH Men.

Carolina Herrera takes inspiration from her days on the american East Coast. Long, fun-packed weekends under the sun doing water sports with friends and enjoying life. The smell of the sand, the sea and wet wood from beautifully crafted classic motor boats.

The notes feature bergamot, grapefruit, sage, marine accord, Szechuan pepper, juniper, sandalwood, vetiver and oak moss.

Carolina Herrera CH Men Sport will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

I'm starting to believe the only new designer scents are Sports.

Got to give it to Davidoff, at least they've named their Sport Game.

CH MEN is a really, really amazing fragrance, and i hope CH Sport will be better than most of recent sport releases

Year of the "Sport"

When I was 21-22 (1991), Herrera for Men came out and I thought it was one of the best fall/winter scents ever. Couldn't get enough of it. Years later I tried it and it didn't seem the same. A watered down reformulation. Well there goes my Herrera babbling for the day.

Come on it's Olympics year, this is the only reason for this flood od sport fragrances. After Olympics, their era will be over (well, at least for the next 4 years)
But this one actually looks nice (speaking of bottle), if it will make it's way to Poland I'll smell it, why not. Maybe will be nice.

At least Benetton didn't name their Olympics scent "sport" but "let's move"

I'll give this one a pass.

Appealing to me. I like the first one.

CH Men Sport is a modern sporty woody spicy fragrance. It shares the mood with Gucci by Gucci Sport, Dolce & Gabbana The One Sport and mostly it reminds of new Hugo Boss Bottled Sport. It starts with plain citruses (not bright or energetic) and soon becomes very peppery and woody with a touch of vetiver. A very masculine smell that is not fresh, not too strong and of course not sweet. A typical masculinity of 2012 I should name it. Sillage and longevity are wonderful, the fragrance is well balanced and natural to my mind. Nevertheless the regular CH Men is much more elegant, unique and attractive.

Thanks for the info! Yeah - for me, everything I loved about CH Men pointed away from the whole "sport" thing, so I pretty much expect to have the same impression. IF I can ever find the fragrance! Nobody sells CH Men anywhere around me. I think I saw it in one duty free - that's it. I don't expect this one will be any easier to locate.

I think exactly the same. I found it a very fine and remarkable scent (I was 20 back in 1995), to found it today a watered down reformulation. Still good, but not the same.

Tried this at a duty free while cruising off the coast of Mexico and I was not really impressed. Like the earlier review (a few posts back) this is a typical, modern, fresh scent that is a lighter derivative of the Allure Homme Sport lineage. I think the comments before also reflect my experience - great burst of citrus and aromatics which transitions quickly to pepper and wood with a touch of vetiver. Simple and not that interesting, but pleasant. I only sprayed one blast on my arm and the heat seemed to stifle the sillage more than anything. As a result, I had to bring my arm to my nose to smell it after the initial 20-25mins. Alternatively, Hugo Boss Sport made a more favorable impression. Good smell and plenty of sillage. It may be the best "sport" version to be born this summer...

Not bad within its genre.
It has details of Dior´s Higher, del Pozo´s Quasar and a similar combination of juniper/pepper of L'eau bleu d'Issey eau fraiche.

I'm interested in trying this, seeing as I'm a fan of CH men.

Perfect flag on the bottle. It belongs in the ocean of all the other sports fragrances.

original is great, honestly. this one is not. after 10 mins its gone...... wont buy

Just bought this blind, found it at a nice Sale, 23 euros/100 ml. i didnt expect much out of it but i actually like it. Definately not the usual sport/aquatic fragrance. Starts with a mild grapefruit & pepper and a stronger juniper note that remains there for quite the entire life of the fragrance. Fragrance evolves through a woody base (i detect some vetiver). Longevity is great for a 'sport' fragrances (wore it twice, got 7 hours, respectively 8) with a very good sillage in first few hours. Can be worn in the spring and even autumn. In my "sport" fragrances agenda, this will probably rank second, after Dior Homme Sport.
