Good morning folks,

'Who' are you taking with you for a stroll today?

Sous le Vent in my case.

Enjoy your day!

Morning playmates!! Switzerland was tops-very expensive though. My friend works there ( most importantly gets paid locally), so not so painful for her...but it's even pricier than London...!

Happy birthday for yesterday Coconut! Hope you had a great day.

Kiliwia - thank you for being my first BN friend! That was very sweet and unexpected (still learning how all this works)

SOTD: Arabian Wood: Tom Ford, someone on this thread chose this a few days ago which has directly prompted me to reach for it this wet and grey day in London. Thank you AW fan.

KarmaLee, I am sorry to hear of your loss, take care of yourself in this painful time. XxX

Have a good day all.

Oh and in the lane of something to declare?...Mitzah on the way thru terminal one. So bad I haven't even taken the cellophane off yet it looks so pretty in its round column packaging! Yep OCD going on in the perfume wardrobe chez whwend.

good morning, mpg's eau des iles for me today in a yucky, grey, wet london day. cycling is a bitch in this weather (pardon my french). have a good day all.

Too early for fragrance yet other than whiff de cold caravan

The showers at this site leave A LOT to be desired, the shower block is unheated

it's blowing a gale and "siling" it down. (siling is Yorkshire dialect for describing rain when it's vicious and coming down sideways so fast it hurts when it hits you. It's from old Norse like so many Yorkshire and Cumbrian dialect words).
Mr Ali wants to walk into town and back, that is soooo NOT going to happen

Happy belated birthday to Coconut

Good Morning,

As others have remarked, it is cold, wet and rainy in England today. Blech.
Wearing Dior Homme.

Best to all.

Want to share two funny videos. Those who get easily irritated by wrong pronunciation or like to make jokes about it, shouldn't watch them - it's not the point.

Good afternoon. Abnormally pleasant weather here in the UAE. Highs of 28C and lows of 21C.
It should be in the mid 30s by now.

Timbuktu is what I am strolling with and apparently the hide of whats in your image Larimar LOL

You, UKers, stay warm and dry, cycling or otherwise. Our storms woke me up at the ung*dly hour of 2 am, been awake ever since and having about 12 hours of work to look forward to. LOL

JR, thanks for your remark. I am a foodie, and now I enjoy working at the restaurant being a Lady with a Knife and a French Pastry Girl in one. Seriously, I go to World Market (the name of the store selling exotic, hand-crafted goods from all over the world but mostly China here) -- and then again, it is some 90 miles away -- the first department I visit is Groceries, for chocolate, teas and canned vegetables. Have I told you that in my immediate past life I was Chinese and now I am able to thrive on vegetables and rice, provided they are sweet and salty? (I know another BNer who was a cat in her/his immediate past life -- fish, seafood, Creole, etc.)

Xerjoff Ibitira, the best rose-iris combo I know of bar-none.

Morning all. Carnal Flower is out to play today. Have a lovely day. As for me I have a deadline to meet so I'm hunkering down for the day. If you see me lurking on basenotes any time today please tell me to shove off and get some bl**dy work done. See you later.

Easy one, L - my somewhat coincidental answer comes in the form of todays birthday greeting.

Happy Birthday Strollyourlobster

Safe travels to Mims today for her well-deserved break by the sea.

Good morning everyone and a very happy birthday to Strollyyourlobster.

Nice kitties boys!!

I recieved a surprise belated birthday present from a friend last night, Penhaligons Juniper Sling. What a lovely, thoughtful gift. Penhaligon's gifts are so beautifully presented too. I was quite overwhelmed. It opens beautifully, a euphoric blast of juniper and lime, very like Hermes Voyage, then a pronounced pepper, then, surprisingly, leather. All of this sounds lovely but I am afraid that there is a problem (oh blush! I feel so guilty for criticising a gift, eeeek, but I wouldn't be anything other than honest with you), The problem is that it all happens in the course of a few minutes then pfffft.... It's not gone, there is a nice peppery leather very close to the skin if you truffle about for it. It will be beautiful used as an Eau De Cologne during ones morning toilette methinks.

I have had alook at the reviews and almost everyone feels the same.

Take care all.

Good morning!

Whwend, I'm glad you had a good time in Switzerland. My husband went
there on business once and I do remember him saying things were really expensive.
He forgot his camera at home, so he bought one there, ended up being a very
expensive mistake, lol.

Happy Birthday, Strollyourlobster! I hope you have a great day!

A spritz of Iris Pallida by L’Artisan for me this morning, from a decant. It is cool and rainy here today. Which is good – we badly need the water.

Happy Birthday, Strollyourlobster!

Shahor! Lol…!! Thank you for the laugh this morning. I was beginning to feel like Henri here myself, but now I feel better for having had a giggle. Very funny!

I agree that Roberto smells wonderful – every day.

Good morning everyone -

I'm in Cuir de Russie this morning, my usual double dose of parfum plus edt. Y'all have a fantastic day!

Oh, Wolfie, is that how it works? Interesting - I think I must have been a cat in my immediate past life, too! If I'm eating meat, chances are very good that it's fish or seafood ...um, and quite possibly Creole, if not Cajun. Waitaminute, lol ...were you referring to me?
Also, twelve hours on little sleep is tough! Here's a hug and some love to give you a little extra strength and fortitude - ((Wolfie)) ♥

Adding another Happy Birthday wish for Strollyourlobster - have a wonderful and fragrant day!

Wearing Anais Anais...are you here Mikeperez?

Iris Pallida had a very depressing effect on me. I had to shower it off and start over. I’m wearing Insolence edt now.

donna225, you smell lovely, I love that ITB cologne. One of my discontinued favorites.
Happy Birthday strollyourlobster!
Fleurine, I am here - you smell FANTASTIC! Powdery, soapy and slightly carnal. Grrr....

Enjoy the cool weather you UK'rs, it is REALLY hot and humid here in Miami. A bit uncomfortably so...

Today for me it's:

34 Boulevard Saint Germain by Diptyque

You have to be very careful with this one, just 1-2 sprays is all you need. Radiant stuff. Lasts forever.

Happy Birthday, Strollyourlobster!

Devilcat, if you are reading, get back to WORK! And Rtamara, best wishes for your return to work. Take it easy, dear!

Sampling Dia today, so beautiful but my skin doesn't like it. I have a very itchy wrist from Dia today; unfortunate too, this rarely happens to me.

I must have been a bunny in my most recent past life- I'm vegetarian. Please don't throw rocks at me; I'm not one of those preachy types!

Rtamara, good luck on your first day to work, Your fragrance at least is divine!

I am sampling ''Histoire de chypre'' Molinard, from a tiny NOLA sample. Very, very nice! Warm and spicy and a bit dusty.
I need that... I will be all alone until very late tonight

Good Evening,

Thanks to the generosity of Alityke, I'm sampling Amouage's Gold Woman tonight.
Lilybelle- that's quite a reaction to Iris Pallida! Feeling better now, I trust.

Best to all.

SotE is Moment Supreme EdT. I have more interesting samples from Foustie *smooch*, but it's too late already today, so something in a 2 hours range is just perfect. I'm late, Wolfie, but enjoyed your culinary elaborations, too!

Lilybelle,

Funny how that happens. I had an odd reaction to Ambre Soie today. Dabbed it on, felt overwhelmed (from a few dabs!), wiped most of it off and have enjoyed the remaining light aroma very much.

Evening all !. Getting some much needed precipitation at the moment here. As I logged into BN earlier mother nature decided to spring this upon me through the window -

Doesn't really do it justice but I did at least try

Wishing you all the best on your return to work, Rtamara

^kumquat, lol! Is that the lobster quadrille? Very cute!!

I'm going through some of my neglected fragrances again, and this afternoon I've rediscovered how much I love CK's Contradiction, one of the most oddly beautiful and strangely amazing perfumes I know of, lol! It's the eucalyptus, I'm sure. I realize that Calvin's not very popular around here, but I really love several of his perfumes, and imo, Contradiction and Truth are CK's best since his original Calvin Klein for women, each worthy of my five stars. (Actually, I just remembered that Truth only gets four stars due to poor longevity...but it sure is wonderful while it lasts.)

Gosh, gandhajala, thanks! That's quite a compliment coming from someone wearing that especially gorgeous Amouage - I think I'd have to turn around and follow if you passed by!

Oh, what a pretty rainbow Jon! You're right - it's almost impossible to capture their splendor, but that makes it extra special - and lucky - to see one!

I am wearing Tubereuse Criminelle as suggested by the random fragrance function...this is the most puzzling fragrance in my collection after Breath of God...I think I like it...I am hoping it just takes some getting used to...

More of that Hypnotic Poison Elixir. I bought two bottles, lol. Realized 1 bottle will probably last a while, so one is in the sale thread. Good stuff though!.
