What am I missing?

Hello everybody,

Just started collecting fragrances last Fall, and I've quickly gotten addicted. I've got a bit of a collection and I'm trying to build a fairly, well-rounded wardrobe. I've accumulated about 10 bottles or so, but I still feel like I'm missing some some key fragrance types, like I'm painting a rainbow while missing a whole color.

I'm in my twenties, and I'd say my collection reflects that pretty well, and a couple of these bottles I've had since I was barely a teenager I'm just curious to see if any of you folks here see a glaring omission from a growing collection.

Any other criticisms are welcome as well. I don't even know what I was thinking when I made some of these purchases.

My Wardrobe:

As usual, tastes are tastes, so one doesn't have to cover all the genres if one doesn't like some of them.

But anyway. My suggestions:
I like leathers a lot, so I'd suggest you add one. Ideally, Knize Ten, which is however hard to find. In mainstream, there's Bulgari Black (more rubber than leather, but same family).

I also like vetivers, which are fresh and summery. Examples would be Guerlain Vetiver, or Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.

Also, I see that for now you're moving in mainstream territory. With time, you could also start smelling some niche brands. These are harder to come by. I don't know where you live, but if you happen in NYC, you can pretty much find anything. So you could look into brands like Serge Lutens, Diptyque, Artisan Parfumeur, etc etc

I wouldn't worry about adding things just to have them around, since you could end up with lots of extra bottles you never feel like wearing. Of more importance is what you feel you are lacking. Could you use a more formal scent? A smokey one? Leathery? Once you identify a style of scent you want to add, then you can really start to hone in on some options.

I think your collection is fine, given your age and apparent tastes.

Also, I tend to agree with Tappio ↓↓↓↓

If you obtain lots of samples then you can calibrate your taste further and find out for yourself what you feel you are missing.

I liked your picks. Try these: Fuel For Life, Rochas man, Voyage D'Hermes, Un Jardin serie by Hermes, Roadster, Burberry Touch.

Thanks for all the input. I appreciate it. I've been looking into leathers, and some more formal/work scents, and I was curious to see if there was a fragrance group that I've largely overlooked.
