Pls help me pick my next fragrance.

I'm a little new to this game and would appreciate if someone could please help me pick out something they think I'd really really really love. Not just add something to my collection, but something that will be my new 'Holy Grail' fragrance.

Here's what I have, and my overall opinion of each. Hopefully that will give you an idea of what I like, and what I'm looking for....

1) DHI original - 10/10
2) A*men - 7.5/10
3) Givenchy Play Intense- 7/10
4) La Nuit de L'Homme EDT- 9/10
5) Bleu de Chanel- 6.5/10
6) Rochas Man - 8/10
7) Aqcua di Gio - 6/10
8) Givenchy Pi- 7/10
9) Chanel Platinum - 8/10
10) JPG Le Male - 7/10
11) Polo Sport (my first cologne :P) - 5/10

I realize I didn't use the whole spread from 1-10 to help differentiate what I like.

Oh, I've also ordered a LIDGE from a very friendly fellow BN, and can't wait to get my hands on it!

I'd love to hear some thoughts please

THANKS!!

You like sweet and fresh for the most part. I think you need Rive Gauche or Midnight in Paris or even Mugler Cologne.

24 Gold and Midnight in Paris EDP.

Aqua Fahrenheit by Christian Dior - This is a considerably toned down version of the original, masterpiece Fahrenheit. No negative connotation is implied or should be taken; rather, this is a distinctive composition, somewhat bright and fresh, with ties to the original.
Initially, one is treated to a blast of sparkling grapefruit, with its sour greenness, tempered by a hint of sweetness from the mandarin. This invigorating, citrus melange is drawn to the heart by a nascent mint. Here, in the heart, the cool spearmint comes into its own with its sweet, green facets, and commingles with violet leaf, with its intense freshness and a hint of cucumber. Basil infuses the refreshing blend with a lively dusting of its lemon-like, savory herb. A very faint undercurrent of petro/gasoline can be sensed. Transitioning to the base, a rather ordinary, woods accord presents, and interplays with a light, almost airy, Haitian vetiver as well as a subtle leather. A placid drydown ensues. This high-quality composition is bright and fresh, and should prove to be very versatile. Having average projection and longevity, this scent will, indeed, shine in the spring, summer and fall.

Welcome!

Sweet and fresh, as others have said; some suggestions already in gourmand territory. I'd suggest you try two of the classic Caron - they're not gourmand per se, but they have a sweet note over a fresh one. Troisieme homme (citrus, fougere), and Caron pour un homme (lavender vanilla).

I agree with the previous poster who said Spicebomb. I's different from what you own and gets good feedback.

Great suggestion! I am with JiveHippo here, as this can be rocked year round, in any situation!

It is appropriate for school, office, date, formal events or just for your own indulgence at home

Do mind that it is VERY different from the Platinum Égoïste you already own, but in a very positive way

Hey everyone, thanks for the very kind welcome and the suggestions!

Lots of delicious fragrances listed above. I'll have to stop by the shop and sample some of them. I am sure I'll like or love many of the scents above.

I remember trying Tobacco Van at Nordstroms and didn't like the opening. But to be fair, I didn't spray it on my skin and monitor it throughout the day. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

I think I might like MIP, and if I can find a fair deal here on BN, I might really consider it. The member I bought LIDGE included a sample of Spicebomb in the deal, so I'll check that out as well once it arrives.

If only DHI weren't so expensive

Thanks again for all the tips and suggestions everyone.
