Gooooood morning!

Nothing yet but wanted to mention something about the VINTAGE FENDI from yesterday. I really, really enjoyed it. Here is what struck me. If this were launched today it would NEVER be marketed as a feminine!! Hmm. How things change.

I was so happy when I read our hedonists post last night about having his babies home for two years, It is still making me smile now.

I am in perfume heaven..I have sampled After My Own Heart & An Evening Edged In Gold by Ineke. Wow. Must haves. Also tried Chemical Bonding..didn't fully enjoy the opening as it reminded me of orange furniture polish a bit but turned into something beautiful. Then there was Balmy Days and Sundays..very grassy green and nice. Also, I finally sampled Givenchy's Dahlia Noir..it was the EDT which was pretty lemony..which I normally don't like but I absolutely love this scent. Except one thing..it's totally fleeting on me..and simply almost vanishes very soon after applying.

Morning All,

SoS -Do come back with your thoughts.

Revisiting a sample of Amouage Epic Man (thanks, A!) today. Will be in town later, so hope to do a bit of sniffing.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Enjoy your weekend!

Scent of the day is Police Pure DNA

Good morning,
The Tabac Blond was still rather going strong this morning, so I decided - with a somewhat limited choice - to reach for Ambre Sultan. It doesn't hit the right spot today (I feel floral or light-green at the moment).
Come back with your sniffing results, G.! Enjoy your afternoon!
I'm lying like a lizard in the sun/shade, looking at the piled up firewood and only thinking of the asparagus, raspberry sorbet and possibly a Mojito comme dessert... naturellement
Have I mentioned that I sort of passed out last night after a bit of red wine?
Best to all

I fancy a really good red tonight, and something well hung.

Yeah, I am thinking maybe 28 days matured Aberdeen Angus Fillet Steak.

Anyhoo....SOTD. The rest of the Fendi sample.

Hello all. My bottle of Dzonghka arrived yesterday, so I am wearing that today. Can I say a great blind buy for me.

It'll have worn off or at least dried own to a weak watery dull generic floral by now.

I'm in A La Nuit again, christening the new FB. Love this uncomplicated jasmine Soooooo.... Much

Lalique Encre Noire pour Homme. Humid after the big thunderstorm (we even had tornado sirens going and evacuated to the basement at work) last night. I crave me some vetiver in high humidity.

Yikes, Twolf! That sounds scary.

Foustie, you make laugh. I'd settle for a nice steak too!

I'm wearing some Attar Bazaar African Violet this morning. I like it. It smells like Chowders violet candies. And I received my new tester bottle of Habanita edt yesterday, which - speaking of vetiver - I think is going to be a wonderful base under some floral layers. I'll be playing with that. The current Habanita edt is lighter and more subtle than the vintage, it seems to my nose, yet all of the constituent elements are still present. I may be in love. I have some other sampling to do this weekend. I just don't know what I want to do first.

Headed for the shower and then I'm jumping into the Vie de Chateau Hillaire suggested. Happy Kentucky Derby Day!

Oh, good luck. I have a sample here, as well as one of the unfortunate noses that pick up every vile note in that thing. Still in a sealed baggie but just sniffing that causes me nausea and light-headedness. Don't know if SM will make it onto this skin!

On a happier sampling note, wearing Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight in Paris. I may have to snag this one from you, gentlemen. Definitely see relation to Dior Homme but this is smoother on me, a little less loud, just beautiful. Love the herbs here; mmm, rosemary!

Just popping in to report that I survived SM. And, to be honest, I not only survived it, I kind of enjoyed it. I don't know what that says about me

For the first few hours there is a lot going on, I get salt and seaspray, a hint of oysters, iodine, surgical bandages, blood, and yes, a good dose of semen. This settles and the fishy/oyster quality fades, as does the iodine and then it's mostly surgical bandages, a bit of sperm, and a good dose of opoponax. It's been about 8 hours since application and now it is just a gentle powdery vanilla, with a bit of the spermy/protein (some call it an egg white note, which is apt) still lingering.

I have this odd desire to wear a heavy application of SM out in public.
Hey y'all -

I'm in Annick Goutal's Eau de Charlotte for SnS.

Good morning everyone Thanks for all the cheer ups and hugs yesterday. The day was a very emotional one, but glad the bf was here. Sotd for another session of transcripting is Moksha. Love this simple, but beautiful scent Have a great day all.

Now this is a choice. What is the correct fragrance for watching the FA Cup on TV whilst listening to the two Sheffield teams commentary, keeping an ear out for Huddersfield scoring, ironing and intermittently sipping a nice Rioja to get me through the ironing?
I don't support any of the teams, just love football, hate ironing and enjoy Spanish red. Mr Ali is at work so I can wear something off the wall without affecting him

I've done this! The barista at Starbucks said "Mmm, you smell nice!" Also, I spritzed a little on one of my colleagues from work, who was interested to try it. Later that night, his hair stylist told him he smelled good.

Well done , S ! It would be interesting to wear it in public - it would be a bit of fun and interesting to gauge reactions. The iodine note was a little bit horrid but I found SM quite tame with a good iris note.

This morning I'm in Uncle Serge's Fleurs d' Oranger .
Wearing Eau d'Italie Sienne l'Hiver for the 1st time from a sample this morning.
It's quite different, with notes of geranium leaves, violet petals, fern, iris of Florence,
white truffle, frankincense, hay, gaiac wood and labdanum, according to the
Eau d'Italie web site. It's suppose to capture the smells of Sienne. It smells very
green to me and it's hard to pick out individual notes. It's pleasant to wear, a little
bit strong for my taste but I like it, doesn't make me think of Italy at all though.

Have a happy weekend, everyone!!

Feels a bit cool and raw here today. I decided on a cozy scent: Jour de Fête.

And it's just the day to cook the nice Angus chuck roast that I picked up last night....with parsnips, carrots, onions, garlic, mushrooms...mmmmm

Racine for me tonight. Have a great evening all!

Ugh, must be one of those days. JdF (which I love) made me feel ill.

Scrubbed it off as much as it would come off and oversprayed it with Côté Bastide Tilleul. Now my daughter wants to go to the mall, so the pot roast will have to wait. I'm bringing a book; she spends a lot of time in stores that have absolutely nothing to interest me.

Hermes- Parfum de Merveilles
Perfect in this humid heat; it blooms in a salty/citrus sea spray on the skin.
Good Evening,

No SotE :Epic Man still going strong. Wherein lies the problem with this scent for me- despite enjoying the dark, resinous, smokey vibe, it's just too fatiguing.

Smelt the Byredo line again today (*shrug*) and checked out the new, seriously large coffee table book from Frédéric Malle - each perfumer seems to have a section devoted to them, with discussions about their fragrances, the creative process etc. Think I saw a price of £85.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Enjoy your steak, Foustie.

Hello all !. Quick in and out - had a damp but stunning day in the New Forest today.

On arrival home just been invited to a neighbours for wine and nibbles - it would be unsociable to say no, wouldn't it ?.

SotD - Ulrich Lang Anvers 2.

Treating those in attendance this evening to some subtle whiffs of SL Feminite Du Bois.

had to wash off miller harris' la fumee as it wasn't doing anything for me so technically this is a SOTE (which btw i absolutely adore and if it wasn't for the fact that it smells very similar to diptyque 34 blvd st germain i would've gotten a full bottle straight away, so still not decided on this one, have to give it a few more wearings):

Sodt was Givrine edt - E.Coudrey,
which I really enjoyed.

Sote is something completely different, one of my favorite perfumes,
Madame X - Ava Luxe

I am wearing Juicy Couture for today's fruity SnS ... I had a few little errands like taking the dog to get her nails clipped, pay a bill, some housework, stopping by the liquor store ... It's a nice and uncomplicated scent for tasks like that.

Getting ready to grab a little nap, a shower, and go see a local band tonight ... I want to change into something darker and more kick-ass, but still fruity. Maybe Liaisons Dangereuses? maybe Luctor et Emergo? We'll see ...

Happy weekend, everyone!
Still enjoying Goutal, I'm now in Grand Amour for the afternoon.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I'm in the fruity smelling (to me, anyway) Zibeline for the SnS. Take care, all.

I spent Saturday lounging around in EDP Shalimar and a bit of Tubereuse by Caron later in the day.
Sculpture of Soul, thanks for the enlightening description of SM! lol... I had seen the name in passing here and there, but had no idea-- all this time I thought it was probably based on musk, pheromones, etc.! My newbie eyes widened a bit at the image in your first post!

Lilybelle, you smell wonderful! But now I have a craving for violet candies!

SotD was Chanel No. 19 EDT. The greens, rose and moss were a perfect match for a day gardening.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Cestrum nocturnum, sorry if we scared you a little! I guess I needn't mention my rec is to stay away! Besides, plenty of people find SM to be nothing shocking at all.

No. 5 this evening, parfum & bath powder. Feel like a fluffy No.5 cloud. Nice!

Spent all day with my buddy at his new luxury condo pool area (really really nice) and now I have a super dark tan. Today it was...

This morning:

Agrumi di Sicilia by Il Profumi di Firenze

Tonight:

Oud Cuir d'Arabie by Montale (the last drops of my sample)

Thanks for the kind words Foustie. We too we ecstatic. We took them out for a fun day. They played to their little darling hearts' content and ate all the Eclairs and Financiers they could put in their little mouths.

Also thanks to those who wished us well in yesterday's SotD thread. *hugs*

Yesterday was a great day for perfume. I was able to extensively test Ambre d'Ore for the first half of the day and then extensively try Kinski too.

Both amazing!
Ooops, I missed your twins' special day, hedonist. I am glad they could enjoy themselves as much as they obviously did (and so did, rightly so, the proud parents )!
Thanks Larimar.

I think , by popular demand, we'll be having another session very soon.

My husband wore the EdP of Midnight in Paris today. He did not like the top notes but he loved the basenotes. I loved it from start to finish. He still smells great, many hours after application.
