Carbone de Balmain - opinions please...

Just wonder; has anyone on the forum tried this one? Looked at fragrantica and the notes seems so interested. Nothing to be found on Fragrance directory here.

Could you please tell me your opinions of it.
Similiar too what for example?
Sillage/projection/longevity?

I personally like woody, incense-based scents, especially cedar.

Any opinion would be appreciated.

I bought this when it first came out and I think it's a wonderful scent. If you like the notes, I think you'll like it.

I tried it on my hand this morning and had to buy it then and there. If you enjoy wood/incense this a very safe and affordable scent. Far superior to Ambre Gris.

If you like sweet scents with fig then it should be safe blind buy. I find it very enjoyable and pleasing.

Money spent that I regret like a cheap version of Dirty English

A lot of incense in the beginning, then the scent becomes sweeter and finally turns into a copy of Givenchy Play Intense

Just blind bought both of these frags. $30 each, why not?! I'm excited Any more opinions on these two?

Smelled ALOT like Spicebomb to my nose, not really my kind of scent.

I am tempted to blind-buy this one, based on the notes. Its the only fragrance from Balmain without an available tester in the stores.
I am reading contradictory reviews: some say to be careful on the trigger as it is strong and some others say that you need to overapply as the fragrance is light and sillage is poor. Can someone enlighten me please? Thanks.

Safe blind buy, Inoffensive and pleasant sent. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, decent price!

Just ordered a bottle last week. I'll chime in when it gets here and I have the chance to test it.

Hi

Does this project well in cold weather? How is the longevity?

Hey, just saw this post appeared so I thought I'd drop in with my impressions now that I've had it for about a month or so.

It's good. It's a freshly shaved pencil and eraser smell with some dark fruit over the top of it (think figs, plums, etc.), just a little bit smoky because of the incense. It has a soft texture and roundness to it. It's drawback is that it's very quiet, a little too close to the skin at times, but I'd settle for this given its smooth texture.

It's not daring, pushing the envelope, or peculiar in any way. It's a very safe fragrance.

The marketing campaign for it is absurd. Pay no heed to it (when should you ever, really?). It mentions something about a gadget obsessed urban sophisticato who spends most of his time around things that are the color of carbon (), which is not even remotely close to what this fragrance conjures in the mind. It has a woodsy, indoors in a cabin, curl up to the fire with your dog at your feet kind of feel (which I'll take over the tech fiend anyway).

Worth exactly its pricepoint of $35 (which is not a bad thing).

The bottle and atomizer sucks.
