Recommend a Fragrance for Everyday Wear

Hello,
I'm a newbie here. To give you a brief background of my tastes, I tried Acqua Di Gio for my first fragrance after hearing of its popularity everywhere, and also because it's not THAT common here in India. But after having bought and using it for a day or two, I found it to be very synthetic and couldn't stand the soapy smell. I exchanged it for Le Male, which I occasionally wear at parties and on cooler evenings.

Yesterday at a mall nearby, I tried a few fragrances.
Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme - didn't like it.
L'eau d' Issey - found it a bit too sweet for my taste.
Versace Dreamer - Opening was nice, but again at drydown, it smelled soapy.
D & G PH - Used to like it before. But this time it smelled too sweet.
Gucci Pour Homme - Overall nice. But smelled a bit like ointments and oils common in India.
Gucci Pour Homme II - Fantastic fragrance! Very relaxing. Loved the tea note.

Now, I was considering buying the Gucci Pour Homme II. The only thing that has kept me from doing that are its poor longevity and sillage. Should I anyway consider buying it?

Also, I've been reading about fragrances, and according to their availability here in India, am also considering these -
YSL Live Jazz
YSL L' Homme

According to my taste, what do you suggest? Are there any more fragrances I should consider?

Also, because of the dismal availability of designer fragrances in India at affordable prices (where they are available, the prices are very high) I could ask a friend of mine, who's in Singapore at present, to get it from there. Since he doesn't know much about fragrances, should I just tell him which ones to buy? (after barganing, of course). If so, which are the places in Singapore where I could ask him to buy? (Online as well as Offline)

Thanks.

You are on the right track with Gucci Pour Homme II and live jazz. With the Gucci just up the number of sprays for better longevity.

Ysl l‘homme is a very good option. I also find burberry London and brit to be nice too. Terre hermes is quite good but might be pricier depending on location you buy from.

I would recommend YSL L'Homme as well

I agree.

And, as to your ruminating about Gucci Pour Homme II. An exquisite black tea envelops it from its fresh opening, through its spicy heart, and finishing with its smokey base. Although its projection and longevity may be lacking, its stupendous versatility, from my point of view, more than compensates for those shortcomings.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions!
I will go and try out the ones you said, of course if they're available in stores.

More suggestions please?

I second Live Jazz and Terre d'Hermes. Kenzo Pour Homme and Boss Bottled might also be good scents to try.

Bulgari Black or Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight in Paris might be good alternatives to Gucci Pour Homme II if you're looking for a tea note.

This is a hidden gem and I don't know if you can find this in your country, but I love a fragrance called Samourai by Alain Delon. Such a pleasant and yet mild smell that never gets tiring. Highly recommend this stuff for daily wear

Boss Bottled (Works well for a night out and daily wear...sweeter scent with woody dry down), Emporio Armani 'He' (Daily wear - Fresh/Slightly Woody/Clean/Modern) and YSL La Nuit de L'homme (particularly for cooler nights.)

From what you have tested: GPHII and Live Jazz

Further suggestion: YSL Rive Gauche pour Homme

L'homme by YSL is good

If you like Gucci Pour Homme 2, but you get bad longevity, I'd suggest you carry an atomizer with you.

You being a newbie, I will also suggest you look at the lacoste line as well.

Gucci PH II is different. I would go with that especially since you've already tried it and like it.

Bleu de Chanel
Chanel Allure
Chanel Allure Edition Blanche
Chanel Egoist
Chanel Egoist Platinum

Live jazz is a good everyday fragrance, I also like Prada Amber pour Homme for the same reason.

A lot of people say that La Nuit is a night only/winter only scent, but I wear it as an everyday. Just don't overspray.
L'Homme is great as well.

these would be great for signature/daily wear
Chanel Allure pour homme, Tom ford Extreme or Terre d'hemes

This thread was started more than two months ago, I wonder what the OP purchased. L'Homme by YSL is a very good everyday scent, but I would also recommend Chanel's Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme or Bleu de Chanel.
