Black Suede - opinions?

I found a bottle of cologne (abandoned for years, I believe it was my grandfathers) in my garage and I spent an hour trying to identify it. I found out it was Black Suede by Avon.

It smells like a cheap knockoff of a woodsy fragrance like Aramis/Anteaus/Egoiste with the smell of talcum powder.

I'm happy about the nostalgia, but I don't know if I would wear it. Some parts of it I like, others I don't.

I mean, if I wanted something like this, I would just get egoiste.

At the same time, I never applied it on my skin, so I don't know how the drydown is.

Also, what year did it come out?

It came out in 1980.

I don't know if this is a vintage bottle you have or not as I am not familiar with this fragrance, but if you are not a collector and don't plan to wear this, perhaps you will get better use of this fragrance trading or selling it online in favor of multiple bottles that you would wear as it should fetch a decent price if vintage

Edit: Actually disregard the above, seems like some 80s vintage bottles are going for less than $10 on auctions and are not even selling

I am near certain it is a vintage, but as you said, it's not worth much.

Also I'm surprised how many people liked this fragrance in that thread..

To me it smells cheaper than BOD Man.
