Best Creed for the Summer?

Thread Starter
So I've been a creeper in these forums and based on what I've read here and some samples pulled the trigger recently and got a bottle of Aventus.

Wow is all I have to say.

I was so impressed with the Creed lines I bought a bottle of Santal.

Santal to me is very flowery and somehow smelled better at the counter than when I brought it home and used it for the first time.
I may take that back and exchange it for another scent.

Anyways, what would be another great scent to wear from Creed besides Aventus for the summer?

I've tried Imperial and can't say I like it, I've also tried Green Irish Tweed, and I'm on the fence about this one, it seems to get better smelling by the dry down but the scent doesn't seem to last long.

I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I don't know about "best" but I'll rotate in Selection Verte, Citrus Bigarrade, Scent of Oger and Original Cologne more often on hot days. Original Vetiver is my year round default fragrance.

Welcome to BN, Kristopher.

Pure White Cologne (formerly Original Cologne) is a beautiful, clean and sparkling summer scent that has good longevity. It has quickly turned into my no. 1 for warmer weather. It's so expensive, however, that the best way to acquire it is via a split....if you can find one.

Citrus Bigarrade is my second favorite, but unfortunately, it is now very hard to find.

Selection Verte is my third favorite because the citrus/mint are so perfect for warm weather. But it is another hard to find Creed.

Baie de Geneviere and Epicea are 2 other Creeds that were bright and good for summer, but again, hard to find.

Then we have GIT, Virgin Island Water, Erolfa, Silver Mountain Water, Millesime Imperial, Neroli Sauvage and Original Vetiver, and I enjoy all of them when it's warm.

Aventus has never been a warm weather scent to me, but it is to many.

For summer in Thailand....the best scent IMO is Erolfa.

You haven't stated where you are from but if you were in the U.S. the best Creed for summer is SMW.

I like Aventus for the summer, I don't know about the rest, I'll have to pay South Coast Plaza a visit and smell the rest.
Well, since no one else has mentioned it -HIMALAYA.

Original Vetiver
Millesime Imperial
Erolfa

Aventus and MI

1) Virgin Island Water for day/casual/fun factor tied with Aventus for something more serious/evening
2) Silver Mountain Water
3) Millesime Imperial (in third due to it's longevity)

IKR .......... Creed Aventus is like buying inline skates in the 90's and bleach blonding the tips of your hair. Soon you'll have every highschooler wearing the stuff

Welcome! Go with GIT, VIW, MI.
i find VIW to be a bit overwhelming and not casual at all.
The lime is nice , but the coconut should be tonned down!
smells like a suntan lotion to my nose. its not airy enough :-)

OK here is a follow up,

Which one in your opinion is best for the summer which gets you the most compliments. I'm not going to lie, since I started wearing Aventus I get at least 2 compliments from complete strangers every time I wear it. However I feel its more of a evening wear scent and don't really wish to wear it during these hot California summer days coming up.

I'll check in later today and with more opinions and information on hand, head to the mall and pull the trigger or just exchanged my Santal for another.

Thanks!

Kris

Nobody has mentioned it since nobody much owns it (including me) but I'd say Bois de Cedrat.

For me, I would choose Virgin Island Water and Neroli Sauvage as my favorite summer scents from Creed. I'd also put Green Valley in there as well if we are including discontinued fragrances (I personally prefer the sweeter/brighter aspect of GV over Green Irish Tweed).

Well, returned my bottle of Santal, it was too sweet and flowery for my style and taste.

Picked up a bottle of

Silver Mountain Water
and
Green Irish Tweed

BTW was close between VIW and SMW, however the coconut really stands out and here in the OC I think allot of people would mistake it for suntan lotion.

Thanks for the input everybody!

MI

I dont even consider MI in the cold weather because it's such a summer scent for me.
GIT and Windsor I can wear anytime.
For me, GIT is way too heavy for a hot and humid summer, if it's like that where you live. Even himalaya would be too warm for that. I would say Virgin island water, or spring flower which for me at least, is unisex.
I agree, GIT is far too 'full-bodied' for extreme heat. GIT works best in cooler weather, spring time or in wet conditions.
In the heat, Aventus is OK, but MI probably the best for me.
Some real good suggestions so far. Of the Creed frags I own, for summer I'm'a go with VIW and Millesime Imperial and perhaps for the evenings Original Santal and perhaps Aventus. Just wore MI a couple of days ago in around 95ish heat, worked out real nice.
Virgin Island Water for day and Aventus for night.
Aventus is more fresh
GIT is more clasy
MI is just overall nice and inviting (might pickup a bottle in the near future)
chevrefeuille original
aventus in the morning, then again at brunch, then once more mid-day, and a final application later on at night should do the trick
post #35 of 51
SMW can be done year round. Summer freshness, Christmas, a fine wine at night on the town... original.
Wearing it right now.

Millesime Imperial.
A super heavy, rich, salty 2006 batch
Personally, I can't see Aventus as a summer fragrance. It's too heavy, smoky, leathery and oak mossy with lots of musk. In the heat this will be over-powering and cloying. There's also a note or combination of resinous notes that smell like a Christmas tree (pine/balsam).

For a Creed summer fragrance, there are better choices: Erolfa (a bit synthetic), Virgin Island Water (on the feminine side of unisex), Green Irish Tweed, even Himalaya.

MI
VIW
SMW
Erolfa

I also think Green Valley is good for spring/summer since it is so green.

Himalaya
Original Santal

Original Vetiver gets my vote as tops for Summer, but several of them are certainly feasible for wear in the warmer weather.

1. Jardin Di'Amalfi
2. Virgin Island Water
3. Millesime Imperial

Best Creeds in the heat of summer:

Virgin Island Water
Original Cologne
Jardin d'Amalfi
Millesime Imperial
VIW and MI, by a lot.

Then Neroli Sauvage and Erolfa.

Then the rest.

But really, I think any Creed can be worn in any weather, just like any cologne. It's all a matter of how much you apply and where on your body you apply it.
I enjoy Silver Mountain Water a lot, but I think its on the same level as MI, which I also love
