Looking for a fresh, green, rose...

Hello, this is my first real post here. I'm looking to round out my collection with a rose fragrance. I love rose and have tried several, but finding just the right one can be tricky. I would like a fresh, natural, watery green rose, maybe even a little spicy

These are the ones I've tried-and why I didn't like them

Sa Majeste La Rose -Very natural, but too short lived and dried down to a dead rose.
Bvlgari Rose Essentielle - too fruity, with berries I hate berries
Heely Hippie Rose - too dirty/ animalic
Rossy de Palma Eau de Protection - too musky and personal
Chloe L'Eau de Chloe - nice, crsip, but a tad too synthetic

Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome!!
Fresh green roses..makes me think of several ones..
YSL baby doll
Nahema...sooo beautiful
Rose Noire from Byredo..not that "noire" to me at all..
Rose ikebana (more citrus than green)
There's a Dyptique i can't quite remember.
Lyric man by Amouage
And then,of course, there must be several Parfums de Rosine out there that fit that description!

As allabouteve was saying, you should check into the Parfums de Rosine line, they specialize in roses, and they are usually very good and natural smelling. If I remember correctly, the freshest are Ecume de Rose and Zest de Rose, but I'm not sure. They probably sell sample sets online, so you should get one of these.

For wateriness, there's also CD2 (not CDG2 man), perhaps the first watery, transparent rose. Rose Ikebana also fits, but it's not very persistent on me. The Diptyque ae mentions must be Eau Rose, which is indeed fresh, though, again, not particularly long lasting, plus, it becomes a little sweet in the drydown (it is likely not Ombre dans L'eau, which I like a lot, but the sharp green vegetal top is followed by a blackcurrant leaf sweetish drydown). As ae, I love Nahema too, but to me it's very dark, like rose petal jam, rather than light - but it's true that it has been reformulated over time, and I don't know what the current version smells like.

Hi,
I couldn't like the ones that you mention, either.

Here are some you might try:
Hermessence Rose Ikebana +1: It is very fresh, citrusy, and a bit spicy (not sure about green, though)
Diptyque L'Ombre dans L'Eau (more green than rose to me, but worth trying; great for summer)
Frederic Malle Une Rose: very interesting, modern chypre rose

I'm a rose lover, too. Here are a few to consider:

Pacifica Persian Rose (has a myrrh note)
Creed Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare (fresh, green)
Provence Santé Wild Rose (fresh, green)
Les Parfums de Rosine Diabolo Rose (citrus/mint)
Annick Goutal Rose Splendide (watery notes, a little musk)
Also: Agree on Rosine Ecume de Rose for watery note.

Rosine's website has a set of samples for sale. It's a great deal; postage is included.

Welcome to the happy band of rose-lovers! Nearly all my scents contain this note.
For a fresh, green rose, I agree that you might look at the Rosine line. I love La Rose de Rosine, which might fit your taste.
Also, Jo Malone's Red Roses is very sheer and green - I'd definitely recommend trying it.
Good luck!

Good morning, greydove, welcome.

There is a series of articles, all about roses, with descriptions and beautiful photos which almost jump off the page, and when I was looking for rose scents, I got many ideas from there.

Enjoy.

Les Parfums de Rosine Une Zest de Rose: Fresh tea rose, a little spicy with citrus and green tea...lovely.

+1 on Creed Fleur de The Rose Bulgarie.

I'd say +1 to everyone who mentioned Rose Ikebana by Hermes. This is my kind of fresh rose. It's slightly citrusy and somewhat sour, but oh so beautiful.

Guerlain - NAHEMA - exactly what you are looking for and one of the very best rose scents out there.

Thanks to those who mentioned Perfumes de Rosine; thanks to you a whole sample box is on its way to my house haha! (and thanks to my lurking)

+1 Jo Malone Red Roses -- lasts a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time and smells EXACTLY like the inside of a florist's cooler filled with roses. The green note is subtle but fabulous.

Try this- LuckyScent has it- for one. A dry, greenish rose. Very summery.

Hi there,

It's been kind of a long time since I've posted to this forum. So nice to be back!

I've become quite a rose fan myself, over the years. I think you'll probably find "your rose" in the Rosines, so glad to hear you're getting their sample pack.

One other rose that I didn't see mentioned is probably my newest favorite: Diva. This is a more grown-up rose perhaps, but it has quite the hit of green to it. It dries a bit "dusty" is how I'd describe it, but it's not muted or muddy. It's not too sweet and really keeps it's rose flavor throughout. I'd read reviews that say it's quite loud and bold but on my dry skin it softens and melts right it. If I were looking for a signature rose fragrance, this would probably be the one and, for me, that's saying a lot!
