Good morning,

Another wonderful day is lying ahead... I'm in summer mode (it's not that hot yet), so I felt like splashing a good amount of Caron Pour un Homme over me, complemented by a few spritzes of the L'Impact.

It's a pancake kind of morning.

Enjoy your day!

Have a good Sunday time my friends!

Good Morning,

Starting off this beautiful Sunday by testing MPG's Jardin du Nil, courtesy of Larimar. Big thumbs up from me, so far, and a thumbs up too from my mother.

Have a great day, gang.

So, this sounds like a winner then! It's superb. I sniffed the current at the Paris Boutique and it smelled the same to me.

Another gorgeous, sunny day in London. Having lunch in the garden later with family and friends. Made a vegetarian tagine and a massive jug of Pimms.

SOTD is OJ Frangipani.

Have a great day, everybody!
Having another "holiday" day stretched out in the garden. SotD is an Angel Fest of EDT on the right EdP on the left and fragrant hair spray. EdP and EDT are definitely different animals.

Grilled lamb, salad, hummus, tsatziki and flatbreads later

OH NO I am working - will this ever end - officially in 'grump'.

Chanel No 18 for some serenity and provide some cool around here. This suits the weather today.

I hate responsibility....

Have a good Sunday all - this will soon be over and my postings become a bit more jolly!

Also working^^^

But wearing Guerlain Muguet 2011 and 2012 (that's why I need 2 jobs methinks.)
Have a relaxing Sunday folks.

Jon thanks for the beautiful music, haven't listened to it in a long time, nice to hear it again.

SOTD is DSH Perfumes Vanille, starts out a pure, true vanilla, then acquires a powdery-dry floral edge over time. It's just lovely.

Notes include bergamot, lemon, vanilla, heliotrope, sandalwood

Wish you all a very good day. xo

SOTD is Amouage Ubar (testing it today for the first time) - so inappropriate for this weather but I don't care.

I have now found myself completely dressed up in a long flowing black shirt top with flowers, a black mini, and pearls and make-up; I suspect the SOTD had something to do with this as I was planning to clean the house before going for a movie later!

Good morning everyone!

I've already been for a run, this time in Cristalle Eau Verte, and it was already quite hot (not complaining - I like it hot!) but now I can relax and be lazy for the rest of the day with no plans other than watching the French Open in lots of Dune, vintage 90s edt. Y'all have a great day!

Hi zubi - welcome to basenotes!

No. 5 edp for 8:00 church this morning (it is Pentecost/Whitsunday by the way ). I'm thinking Eau de Joy for later in the evening, as it seems to work well in this Floridian climate. Love to everybody. xo

Thanks for the Vivaldi, Jon!

Good morning! Neil Morris City Rain today. I do like it. Floral then sort of papery in a nice way, without being 'dry' exactly, my daughter's comment was "I can smell the rain!"

Yesterday Mure Et Musc Extreme over lotsa Body Shop Mango forgot to post! This is a foolproof combo in my house. Mango + Jailia is loved by the females, but Mango + Mure is loved by everyone.

Good evening all,

Lots of roses in bloom now...

The Rosa Muscosa again.

I'm not really into white roses, but the peony in the bottom right corner was already here when I took over the garden and the white rose was supposed to be another rose I had chosen. Surprise, surprise!

One of the few times I like 'cute', but the 'Ballerina' simply fits this description.

Accordingly, I'm joining G. in that Jardin du Nil (MPG). Do you also get that vintage kind of aura, G.? Every time it strikes me and I always wonder why I do not wear this more often...

Have a lovely evening (we have another public holiday tomorrow)!

Extra love & hugs to those working today. Also to Karma Lee, hope you feel better soon! Colds are so aggravating in warm weather.

Not E.'s twin but a scent sister of hers this AM in Cristalle EDT. Have a happy Sunday, all!

Good Evening,

A spectacularly unproductive day - barely moved from my bench in the garden Lovely.
Larimar - you smell fantastic, and yes, I do get that certain 'vintage' vibe from Jardin du Nil. Thanks so much for the sample.
Wine o clock has arrived, chez moi (well, chez momma G. Visiting for a few days, which is always a treat). A very drinkable Sauvignon Blanc from la Loire tonight.
SotE is Eau de Guerlain.

Welcome Zubi !

Best to all.

I love seeing all the flower photos!

I made an upsetting discovery the other day-- all the roses in our back yard have had the buds nipped off! The few bushes in our front yard are unaffected. I've done a bit of reading and I have come to the conclusion that very likely a deer came along one night and had a snack. I will have to prune them today to help them put out buds again, but there is no guarantee it won't happen again. We are not going to put up 8 ft high fence around them, nor cover them with netting.

SotD is Premier Figuier.

Enjoy your well-deserved wine (after a hard day's work )! Moi, I made at least some elderflower syrup...

30R, that's awful! We have rampant deer in our area. The Mr. and I once went for an hour or so motorcycle ride to find upon our return home that deer had chowed 4 rows of corn to the ground. So much damage in such a short time; just sickening.

Have resorted to spraying all the plants they like with hot pepper spray. It's completely organic and easy to use. No worries of harm to humans or pets and one application is good for a couple of months. We find it at Lowe's and such; sometimes will be labeled "Hot Pepper Wax". Maybe you've already tried this though- if not, it's worth a try. Has stopped our deer problems entirely.

Well, we have so much deer and in particular wild boar around here (and I practically live in the wood), we can't be without a fence... unless you were keen to be greeted by a sow in the early morning when leaving the house *shriek*

I will look for that, thank you! But doesn't it wash off when it rains? Do you need to reapply?

Thank you for your thoughtfulness on my 57th b-day yesters. I do keep good company, I do.

After an unscheduled sleep-in, I'm joining whwend in working. The fam has gone off to a prairie-planting day at the university field station, and I will be able to proofread in solitude.

Fight off that cold, KarmaLee. Welcome, Zubi. Sorry about the hungry rosebud eaters, 30R. Some nibbler has eaten the green tops from my chard, so the live trap has been set. Larimar, sow, sir? Wowser.

I'm more about the native species, but here are two roses I have in bloom. The first is Zephirine Drouhin, which I planted for my mother many years ago. It was patented the same year our house was built, 1868. The second is a potted rose DD's BF gave her last year, and somehow I've kept it alive.

Jaisalmer [again] for me today. It's just so e~a~s~y for me to wear. I hope I don't grow tired of it too soon.

No, it sticks pretty well through rain, unless it pours for days on end. Even though it's a liquid spray, it has a waxy base that helps it stick. I do reapply every 2 months or so, whether it's been rainy or not. All the critters seem to hate the stuff! I even use it on my bed of salad greens for the bunnies. I just be sure to wash any veggies that have been sprayed especially well- we haven't burned our own mouths yet!

Good luck, hope it helps. Those are some clever deer, knowing to only eat the rosebuds. They seem to be getting smarter all the time!

G, great minds were thinking alike today. We are about to crack open our Sauvignon Blanc that has been chilling nicely ready for consumption this evening.

The vineyard at Cloudy Bay is vast and in a spectacular location - we actually visited the place when we were in the Marlborough region of NZ last year.

I'm wearing Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte this afternoon, taking a cue from Evangeline. I spritzed some from a tester at the mall this afternoon (I was shopping for a new skirt - no luck finding exactly what I wanted, but I did come home with a bottle of Jo Malone's Red Roses bath oil), and I am in love with this Cristalle Eau Verte. My nose is stuck to my wrist. If it were wine it would be a lovely Pinot Gris from Alsace, crisp but with a surprisingly long finish. Can you tell it's wine o'clock here now?!

Also want to mention - I love all the floral/plant pics we've had lately. They're lovely!

I haven't been in a posting mood for the last few days and now I see I missed telling Quarry Happy Birthday! Nooooooo!

HAPPY (Belated) BIRTHDAY, Quarry!Attachment 13677Hope you had a lovely day!

I tested some scents at Ulta yesterday, my area's only place for scent-testing other than a tiny, desolate Macy's, and among the few that were worth testing was Gucci Rush. I think I tried it before and liked it, but yesterday I really liked it. Not enough to buy any, but enough to enjoy sniffing it on myself all day long. Today I am in HdP Marquis de Sade. Take care, all.

Missed Quarry's birthday yesterday - HAPPY B'DAY J!!!!
alfarom - I love that Diptyque too...it's nice and spicy, which is sort of unique for an eaux cologne type scent
Larimar and gandhalaja - all of this Jardin du Nil talk has me wishing I could wear some, I will make it my SOTD tomorrow
Spent the morning sleeping in and a late brunch with Ray before chores (grocery shopping, gym, get the car washed) and now I am planning on going dancing with my friend since I don't have to work tomorrow...this morning it was:

Splash Forte by IUNX

Tonight most likely it will be something 'clubby'...maybe Leather Oud or Black Aoud
