Anyone here use just one spray?

Thread Starter
I know most people use at least 2-3 sprays but do anyone here use just one spray?
I tried doing that a few times but never on a regular basis.
Only on some powerful fragrances like Giorgio for Men, Bogart pour Homme and Portrait of a Lady.
With some I can't even manage one spray.

I've decanted Bois de Paradis, Wrappings, YSL Paris, Amouage Gold, Une Rose, Coriandre and a few others into 1ml rollerballs and dab them on.

+1 I will add tobacco vanille and black aoud.
Welcome!
Only with extremely strong EDPs and potential headache inducers.
Yes, sometimes, especially if I'll be working in close quarters with someone.
Never. Not even with any of my Tom Fords.
i find that most strong oud scents need only 1 spray and more and they can be lethal
post #10 of 64
I often use 1 spray.
Never. But my sprays either come from a sample sprayer (usually less volume per spray), or from my collection, and I tend not to prefer nuclear fragrances in general.

Yes, Bois de Paradis is one of my one spray scents, and it is one spray on abdomen, away from my nose Coromandel is another one sprayer, but partly because the Chanel atomizers are quite generous.

I have tried, a few times, to use just one spray - no can do!
Tobacco Vanille, M7, Dior Homme Intense and even Aventus are good with one spray. Just depends on the power. I wore Epicea today and I don't think 10 would have been enough. But it was nice while it lasted.
Sometimes I do, if I want to wear something without wearing something you know?.
Absolutely! Andy Tauer fragrances. YSL Paris, this I need to spray on my legs or I get a headache. Cabotine by Gres. Just about any amber dominant fragrance is good with just one spray. Big aldehydes I spray lover on my body and just use one spriz. Montale Oud scents are one spray scents for me.

Gee...now that I'm thinking of all these fragrances I only spritz once, maybe this is why I can't seem to finish a bottle.

I knew someone was going to say something..I do what I do, ok? Lol. When I want a hint of smell but not to where I can smell it on me a lot. So, ya, basically like deodorant. lol.

Ok! Of course, Sir! Curiosity kills and I don't wanna die so soon.
Oh, and it's a madame! Lol. I will let you live though. Just kiddin.

Honestly, after wearing bombs for a few days or something, I like to give my nose a break I guess and do something light.
Yes, with Quorum. Though if I'm going to be outdoors for an extended time I will go with 2 or 3 sprays of this one.
Yes, some of more potent fragrances get only one spray. Especially when I have to work in close proximity to others, or in a very small office.
yes, most of the times 1 to 3. in rare cases even less than a full spray.

I usually do that either: my favorite nose cleaner is Eau de Cartier.
No, because perfume seems to evaporate off my skin instantly. No joke - I used about 8 sprays of Mitsouko yesterday and couldn't smell it without pressing nose to arm by the time I got to work. And it's not nose fatigue. My two colleagues sitting next to me couldn't smell it either (we're friends and they'd definitely tell me).

Only exception is Tauer. L'ADDM seems to last days on me, so I'm afraid of using more.
Never. 4 or 5 or 6 sprays. I just got one of those Cool Water summer flankers and have been doing like 30 sprays. Its really light, i just have to hold my breath for a few seconds after.
I usually use two sprays at least. seems to be the best method for me so far
post #28 of 64
With my stronger perfumes it's just one spray to a wrist and then rub them together. Don't want to overdo it since other people can be allergic to scent.
Never. At least 3 for me.
Yes, sometimes 1 does the job nicely.
At work ( a nursing home) I always use just one spray. If I'm not working however I tend to use 2 sprays of most of my scents, except from the very potent ones ( Aromatics Elexir, Angel, Mystere, Musc Ravageur.....+ probably a few I've forgotten.)
Some pure parfums with dab method, but its for the cost of application, not a fear of the stregth.

With sprays i always go for more (normally much more) than 6 sprays
post #33 of 64
Apart from trying out one spray and finding it just doesn't work for me, no. My skin would laugh at one spray.
Nope, at least three sprays.
When I first started wearing Gucci Envy I made the mistake of being a little too enthusiastic with my application.

Ever after with that scent it was always one spray to the top of the chest and no more!
Nope i usually do 15 sprays at least

my goodness! i always think that these kind of replies must be a joke, but then, there's some basenote member out here who doubles that.
SL's fleur d'oranger..... 1 half spray.... not near my neck ..... or I get a headache.
I tested Eau de Baux again yesterday. One spray on the inside of each wrist. That's only TWO sprays, but I couldn't help feeling like "WHOA, this stuff is strong." I woke up this morning and still smelled it going strong... so... yeah. I haven't decided if I'm buying Eau de Baux yet, but if I do, it'll probably be a ONE SPRAY scent. Whoooooo... that's potent stuff on me.

I often wonder that too! I wonder how many of the people here tastefully wear scents and how many literally bathe in them. I especially wonder that when reading the "compliments" thread. So many people seem to get a constant stream of compliments, and it makes me wonder if some of the compliments aren't actually intended as sarcastic, as if to say "Wow, you might want to back off the trigger a little."
Never.
I do.

After spraying my neck and chest area 10 to 15 times I will spray a single spritz on my wrist for analytical purposes.

1 spray for strong sprayers (Fierce, Cool water, etc.)

Or if a new acquisition, and I need more time to test it out.

Usually 2, especially light aquatics. (1 chest, 1 nape)
I do. MAYBE two, but never more than that. I don't like to project and have everyone think I'm trying hard to smell good. Prefer to be smelled only when I'm sitting next to someone or hug them. I know friends who are the same way, and also ones who spray lots and it feels like the latter are trying too hard when I can smell them across the room.
sometimes, especially if I will be going out for short period of time and/or strong scent is unnecessary.
I spray only one after a late afternoon or night shower where I spend the evening just hanging out at the house and sleep.

However, most of my fragrances get three: One on the base of the neck, one on my wrists, and one underneath my shirt on the chest.
Depends on the fragrance and where I'll be wearing it. With some, one spray is enough--Coromandel and By Kilian Rose Oud, for example.

There are also some fragrances that I might enjoy otherwise, but I would never wear to work or a children's party
post #49 of 64
Only with Rien by ELDO
Never do that. I love them so much.
Kouros! Tried two chest winter sprays and was projecting like a monster for 12 hours. Do 5-6 and you'll think its gone within a couple of hours. Classic olfactory overload. Having said that, one will give you perhaps 6 hours if you pay attention. Kouros works like LSD tab ... one and a half is probably the measure for conservative pleasures and personal enjoyment, meaning - being kind to your ecosystem of choice. YSL just can't miss the designer game. Respect to Pierre Bourdon!
I usually go with one spray...I like my fragrances to be more on the skin scent side of things. I don't want them to shout at people when I enter the room. There are about 4 of mine that I use more than 1 spray, the rest, one spray is all I need.
For me also 1 spray, unless it's something light and short-lasting like Eau Sauvage. I think for others it's more pleasing and interesting when the scent is just strong enough to be noticeable.
Yes. Alien I only use one spritz. Come to think of it Angel too.
Add Joop! to the one spray list, unless you want to kill someone.

I go 3 sprays for DHI & 2 for Aventus.

only using one spray seems like a waste of time.
never, always use at least 2 sprays

Agree

At work when I'm only wearing a t-shirt I will do 1 spray only b/c I know with exposed skin will be enough.
versace pour homme. Some fragrances I do one spray on chest, one straight up in the air and I step under it to let it settle on my hair and shoulders. Some cheaper frags I do up to 6, but generally I won't bother with something I have to bathe in to still smell 20 min. later. My perfect amount is such that if I walk past someone, they get a slight whiff of it... Seems like the amount people dump on themselves is inversely proportional to the price.

I use one spray just on some extremaly concentrated perfumes or when I'm home and wanna wear something strong.
