Transparent, sheer, indole-free jasmine...

Hello Basenoters!

I'm a longtime lurker who finally gathered up the courage to post. I would love your advice.

I have a newfound love of fresh, transparent, spring-y florals (La Chasse, En Passant). While I adore big jasmine bombs like Alien from afar, I'm looking for a casual, sheer, inoffensive, dare I say refreshing jasmine I can wear to the office. I like the idea of something with tea notes, but the few I've sampled that list jasmine tea prominently (Costume National Sheer, L'Artisan The Pour Un Ete) weren't quite jasmine-y or refreshing enough for me.

Any suggestions would be so appreciated!!

I don't detect jasmine in Guerlain Champs-Elysées, however it does fit the bill as a spring floral that is office friendly. If you would like a decant, please pm me.

Happy de-lurking!

Diptyque Olene is a jasmine that I don't find indolic.

Wow, thanks jujy! PM sent.

I'll check out Olene, it sounds promising! Bonus points for wisteria and honeysuckle.

I would describe Etat Libre d'Orange Jasmin et Cigarettes as a fresh, non-indolic jasmine. The unsmoked tobacco note comes across as very vegetal and herb-like to my nose. The jasmine is bright and sheer.
My opinion is obviously not universal, but if you have the chance, you might give Jasmin et Cigarettes a trial.

Pacifica makes some very nice, reasonably-priced fragrances, lotions, solid perfume, etc.
Pacifica Star Jasmine is wonderful.

Estee Lauder's Jasmine White Moss is sheer and refreshing. Long-lasting, too.

First by Van Cleef and Arpels is a gorgeous jasmine. I'm not sure I'd define it as sheer, but it is fresh and lovely. Perhaps spritz lightly?

Jo Malone's White Jasmine and Mint is sheer, lovely, and fresh.

+1 for Jasmine White Moss; beautifully sheer & elegant!

Adding By Kilian's Love & Tears, & Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Jasminora.

Welcome to basenotes!

Welcome QingXiang ! Great suggestions already .
You could try Nuda by Nasomatto also, for the heck of it . Pure luminous jasmine and musk . One spray is enough .

Maybe Voile de Jasmin by Bvlgari.

Hi QingXiang - welcome to basenotes!

I'm no jasmine expert, but I'd say Elie Saab Le Parfum is a sheer and non-indolic jasmine, and it absolutely sparkles! I've only recently started exploring jasmine-centered perfumes, and Elie Saab LP is the reason - it's quickly become a favorite!

+1 on Elie Saab. It smells very similar to Armani Code to me, so that is another one you may wanna check out.

Also, I haven't sniffed this one but there is Mon Jasmin Noir L'eau Exquise. Has a main note of tea in there and also has, of course, jasmine. I *really* want to sniff this one as I loved the previous flanker.

Edit: Oh and there is the Armani Code Sheer as well.

My favorite not-so-indolic jasmines are Donna Karan Essence Jasmine, Renee Jasmine and Le Labo Jasmin 17.

The Le Labo is probably the most refreshing of these, but it's also the most blended with other white flowers.

If you are fond of vetiver, Guerlain Vetiver pour Elle has a beautiful jasmine note running throughout. It's well worth a sample too.

I just wanted to welcome you!

There are some excellent suggestions here for you. Some of them are favorites of mine too.

Badgley Mischka Fleurs de Nuit. Agent Provocateur Maitresse is very sheer jasmine also.

I'd second Jo Malone's White Jasmine and Mint. Although, for me it's more mint than jasmine.

Poet's Jasmine by Ineke for Anthropologie.

Second Love and Tears, adding Drama Nuui and Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge. They are all fresh and non-indolic.

Welcome Welcome! Great to have a new voice.

Adding Yves St Laurent In Love Again Jasmin Etoile
Dior Escale a Pondicherry

to your growing list

+2 for Estee Lauder Jasmine and White Moss a modern floral chypre which says exactly what it is in the title

I am not a jasmine lover but I very much like Jasmine de Nuit by The Different Company. I think it is worth trying if you have a chance.
And...welcome to Basenotes!

+1 on Jasmine De Nuit by the Different Company
If I'm honest, I've never tried it.
But I have been exploring The Different Company recently. There fragrances are extremely light, uncomplicated, simplistic and minimal, very refreshing and I imagine their jasmine is the same.

Seconding Donna Karan Essence Jasmine....it's a very pretty uncomplicated jasmine.
