Now shipping worldwide!

Welcome to my Basenotes Splits Table.

Your 50mL split will be taken from a 250mL or 500mL flacon unless otherwise stated. Once all of the spots are reserved, I will ask all participants to fund their portion of the bottle's purchase to me through Paypal. I will then order the bottle, receive, split, package, and ship to your door.

All of the 250mL Creed and Tom Ford flacons will be purchased from Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom (500mL Creeds will be purchased directly from Creed Boutique). Frederic Malle fragrances will be purchased directly from Frederic Malle's online shop. No flacon will be purchased until it is fully reserved.

Please do not claim your spot if you do not think you can follow through once the spots are filled. Backing out after everyone else is ready and waiting will cause a huge interference and inconvenience to the others involved.

*For better organization of these splits, please do not PM me regarding splits. I will most likely not answer PMs. Email me at soccerherobn@me.com. Thanks!*

If you are in the US:
The prices listed below will be your total price. USPS Priority Mail shipping service, packaging supplies, and decanting supplies are already reflected in the price.

If you are in Canada or Mexico:
Add $9 USD to the total for shipping to figure out your cost. USPS Priority Mail shipping service, packaging supplies, and decanting supplies are already reflected in the price.

If you are worldwide:
Email me so that we can assess shipping costs to your country.

Can you explain the breakdown of $84 for 50 ml of Creed Windsor?

Whoops! Thanks for pointing that out, Red. I went to copy and paste to speed up the formatting of the list and forgot to change the price.

Here's the Windsor pricing:
Creed Windsor | 50mL | $136

Also, just remembered that Selection Verte is not available on Neiman Marcus, and I will have to obtain it through Creed's online store. Adding $22 to the base price.

I've already got Noir de Noir open right now. Only one split per fragrance in a specific country of the splitter is allowed. Please wait until mine is full to open yours.

Not a problem, I appreciate it. It does appear mine is full now, let me confirm everyone is in and then I'll close it and let you know so you can re-open yours.

Would you ever be interested in splitting Feuille Verte?
I've got a suggestion....it seems every Aventus split sells out rather quickly and soon another is requested. Why don't we buy a 17 oz (500ml) Aventus flacon from creedboutique.com for $520 instead? Even with $22 shipping it comes out to $1.08/ml ($542/500ml) compared to $1.52/ml ($380/250ml) for the 250 ml flacon. If my math is correct, 50ml will cost $54.20 + $6 SH + $2 atomizer for a total of $62.20 rather than $84. That's a savings of $22 per person (25%). You can count me in for 2 at that price. Please share your thoughts.

Added Feuille Verte and removed Selection Verte, since I see DULLAH has two flacons being split at the moment.

Please note the price updates for all splits. I've decided to go with the trusted and higher quality atomizers from AFF.

Another suggestion, how about breaking the Creed Windsor down into 30ml decants instead of 50ml (7x30ml + 1x40ml)? $140 is steep for a lot of us who'd like to try the fragrance but $89 might be doable. Make one 40ml decant available for $115. Could possibly shave off a couple bucks by downsizing to a smaller atomizer also. I think spots will fill faster this way. I'd take a 30ml spot.

Unfortunately, that goes against the split rules:
250+ ml. bottles must cost $350 or more, minimum split is 50 ml.

You can read the rules here:

As CaliDude stated, it's against the rules. Plus, I'm certain it would take much longer to fill since there would have to be more people involved.

Jeff
Sorry, I didn't know about the rule. It would only be 8 people instead of 5 and at $50 less per person I think there would be more takers. At any rate, the point is moot.

The rule isn't in place because of the number of people required, it's to prevent Basenotes from being targeted by fragrance companies for allowing decant sales. Apparently, in the past, some companies did get in touch with BN about previous decant sales that were allowed, and made a stink about it. eBay technically has the same policy with decants, it's just not that well enforced. From a splitters perspective, it's actually kind of nice because it does allow splits to fill much quicker. Generally, if someone's in to buy a 30-40 ml portion, they'll go for a 50 ml, which makes filling a 250 ml bottle easier and quicker. Splits on other sites where people only want small 10-15 ml portions end up taking forever.

By the way, soccerhero, are you aware the 250 ml flacons of Amber Absolute have been discontinued? The scent as a whole is being retired this month. Are you sure your Neimans still has them in stock? They've been gone for a couple of months now, so it'd be it or miss as to whether they're still there.

Last I checked, both Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms still carry Amber Absolute. I guess they're just getting rid of their last remaining stock.

Yep, still available at Neiman Marcus. I'm going to Saks next week and am going to see if they have any extra flacons.

It's a shame, too, because I love Amber Absolute.

Why not bump up your Creed Imperial Millesime to a 17 Oz Flacon as well? GIT comes in 17 Oz flacons too, doesn't it? But VIW tops out at 250ml I think...

I know everyone from the first Aventus split is on pins and needles right now. We're waiting on one payment.

Jeff
For your next split you should establish a deadline of receiving payment once all spots have been reserved... maybe 72 hours? If someone does not meet the deadline for payment then their spot is forfeit and given to the next person in line (the first person who reserved a spot for the same fragrance in the next split)

How come there are 4 spots open now in the Aventus split? Did 3 more back out or is it a second bottle?

Doesn't make much sense. I fail to see why a fragrance company would be incensed by splits of x mls but then be fine with a modification of the rules only allowing splits of a certain size based on the $ cost of a bottle.

Not the forum to discuss this, but it's because if said split is too small, it can be classified in some eyes as selling samples. How right or wrong that logic is, it is what it is. I don't specifically remember, but I think I recall reading that BN received some nasty emails in the past from some companies, don't remember who, for allowing samples or sample-size decants to be sold here. Technically, it's not allowed on eBay either and they do flag people for it there.

+1 ... Also, I think the biggest distinguishing factor between splits vs decant samples is the following:
A split's main goal is to offset the price of purchasing a fragrance to multiple other people and it is absolutely not supposed to enable the splitter to make a profit. I view it as more of a community service gesture. Sure, there are perks (i.e. free official samples), but those IMO, are miniscule compared to the time the splitter puts in to gather the payments, order the fragrance, decant the fragrance, ship the fragrance, etc etc etc.

PS. Sorry for straying this thread further off topic, just thought I'd give my 2 cents.

If you're in such a big rush how about you just go buy a bottle? There is no waiting list at the store.

Sadly, this is an unfortunate side effect of splitting. Inevitably, someone will delay payment, it's almost impossible to avoid without taking payment upon reservation, which places more undue pressure and stress on the splitter since it means holding people's money even longer.
Who said I was in a big rush? Thanks for the assumption out of nowhere. Just suggesting some basic rules that may help the splits just go a little bit smoother so people know exactly what they're in for.

Not for long, my rep told me they were supposed to go up July 1, and it's just a matter of when NM gets around to changing it in their system. This will not affect Amber Absolute since it's being retired, all stock will be sold off at the previous price.
