Givenchy gentleman.....to what fragance can it be compared ????? The nearest by..

Thread Starter
I´ve talked personally to some friends that own " Givenchy Gentleman " , new version and vintage.
But
I got very different opinions..
Is it a strong fragance ??
Is there in the present market any fragance the stays close to its notes..?
What can you add to this issue to give the best broadly scope.
Many thanks .

The vintage stuff reminds me of the unfortunately long since discontinued Giorgio VIP for Men. I find it quite strong... and quite amazing.

Try club man special reserve. $7 US dollars, and smells almost identical

+1

Gentleman is rougher, perhaps more complex than HOT Always which is smoother and more refined but perhaps a little more linear. HOT is aptly named in that the spices+civet smells warm. Both lovely fragrances IMO.

A real cheapie comes to mind - Slider by Paris Bleu

I find some details from Noir Patchouli by Histoire de Parfums without the floral side.

Giorgio Beverly Hills for men is fairly similar. Like Gentlemen better though.

I couldn't agree more.

I'd try Ulrich Lang's Nightscape, the best modern patch scent I know. I wore GG a lot in the eighties and I prefer to leave it there.

Huh? Seriously?

To what can it be compared? It smells EXACTLY like pure patchouli oil.

It's EXTREMELY strong. This one will come back with a vengence and you'll get strong whiffs of this on yourself throughout the day, even with one direct spray to the neck, which is pretty great value for money but use with extreme care seeing patchouli will be a love/hate thing with people around you. This stuff lasts so long. I've still got my 50ml from 2007 and I've barely made a dent in it (I use it on weekends, not daily). It was my first high-end fragrance. I'll always have fond memories of this one. Very playful/flirty/sophisticated all-in-one. Patchouli also happens to be an aphrodisiac scent. Score! Haha.

I know it's not a fragrance in a bottle (which is I think what you're asking about) but if you want something cheaper, buy patchouli essential oil - you'll get the general essence of G.Gentleman by doing this...
