Best Nautical Fragrance

Hi everyone, very new to the site and to smelling nice in general.
I've always loved the nautical style- boat shoes, striped shirts, all that.
Besides the look, I've always loved the smells too, but never knew where to start.

In your opinion, what is the best nautical fragrance for men?

Unsure whether it's the best, but Baldessarini del Mar ranks high among my favorites - a possible testing suggestion which I would like to recommend.

Welcome!

"Nautical" carried to its extreme consequences is the infamous Secretions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d'Orange. It smells like brackish water that has been rotting in a metallic bilge way too long, likely with decomposing shellfish. Smelling it is an experience, but of course it should not be put on skin.

I strongly dislike "marine" notes, but some people I usually agree with think that the very expensive Tirrenico by I profumi del Forte is the best representation of beach and sea smells (I find it loathsome and an insult to the sea where my family lives, but again, that's my taste). In mainstream perfumery, a much less intense example would be New West by Aramis.

I agree, New West is your answer. Although Bulgari aqua marine and Heely Sel Marin are also nice.

Nostalgia for the smell of diesel and boat lubricants.
Sel Marin for when approaching the jetty.
Chene for the smell of the yacht interior.

Creed Erolfa is another one to check out.

If you like something a bit darker, also look at Guy Laroche - Horizon. That is more deep, dark sea water though than the Marina.

Thanks guys!
I'll definitely be sure to check those out, or at least the ones I can find!

I guess since so many of you have expressed a dislike for marine scents I'll broaden my search quite a bit, but still only for a nice summer scent for now.

What really stinks is where I live, the only stores that sell fragrances are shoppers drug mart, sears, walmart, and costco, and I don't have a membership to costco nor any of my family members.

I've only been able to find summer scents like Acqua di Gio, Summer 2012 by Jean Paul Gaultier, some Polos by Ralph Lauren, among others. I digress. The search continues!

For a cheapie, Nautica Voyage seems to fit the bill. If price is not an issue, the salt and melon of Creed MI would be great.
