Mont Blanc Legend or A&F Fierce?

Thread Starter
Do they really smell that identical? I've smelt Fierce before and really enjoyed the smell. People say MB Legend smells just like Fierce, but I have never put my nose on that it yet so I can't be the judge.

1. do they really smell that much alike?

2. which one projects better / last longer / better silage / smell better

2. which one would you prefer? and why

Mont Blanc Legend

Quite similar. I have a sample of Legend and have only sniffed Fierce once (no a&f stores here). Legend seems like better quality. If I'm not mistaken it's actually cheaper too.

To me Legend smells like a watered down version of Fierce.
Fierce is nice, just go easy on the application.

Fierce. ML has too much spice muck to get through just to arrive at what it wants to be, which is fierce; a very smooth and alluring musk

mont blanc legend as fierce has a sharp chemical tone to it that make me feel like i'm gonna puke lol..

Totally agree Fierce will give more bang for the buck - Legend is rip off

Platinum Egoiste

Mont Blanc Legend.
It's half the price and smells smoother (better).

Legend has a better smell to me, and is a little more complex. However, Fierce definitely has the edge on projection and longevity. Either way, both are great compliment-getters.

Thank You. I am bumping this thread because I always have loved Mont Blanc PENS. I recently purchased a mini of Legend on eBay and to me it opens in a very reminiscent way to Platinum Egoiste. However it then deteriorates into a cheap, synthetic mess with very little longevity. VERY nice bottle, however.

I am sorry, but I get no Fierce comparison or vibe from this cologne.

It would have to be Fierce without doubt for me.

I really wanted to like Legend. Everything I read about it gave the impression it would be perfect for me. I almost purchase it without trying because I went to stores where the testers were completely empty. Fortunately I came across a tester in another shop.

Now while it doesn't smell bad, it doesn't really have any character to it. It smells very much like deodrant, sort of like Lynx. It's difficult to explain; it's as though the scent should be more powerful and instead it is mellowed. If Legend had a bit more presence it would be a great scent. It is too toned down and thus smells like body spray.

I've been giving this more thought. Fierce is the clear winner but I do agree with it can be headache inducing if not light on the application. For this person, perhaps a toned down version could be more wearable. I need to sample.

Mont Blanc Legend for price.
A&F Fierce for performance.

I'd say when you include all factors, MBL is the better purchase.

And no, I don't see how people compare this to Plat Ego

Design Imposter Raw $4.00 or $8.00 for the cologne. Another basenotes member commented on this and it does smell very close to Fierce.

THIS ^ I have worn them side by side, on on each arm and I still don't get the comparison. And every time I did this test MBL outlasted PE.

I would give the upper hand to MBL, I haven't had a chance to wear AFF enough to be 100% certain, but MBL has really grown on me and I know you can get a 5oz bottle for $89.

IMO Mont Blanc Legend>Chanel Platinum Egoiste>Abercrombie Fierce

If you're grouping all into the same category, I'd have to say I enjoy Mont Blanc Legend far more than the others. For a lack of better words, it smells manlier. My untrained nose guesses it's a more sizable portion of clean, crisp, musk.

Fierce projects much better but Legend is a much better value for half the price.

Both are good fragrances, but I won't either simply because it brings back bad teenage memories.

Right now I'm giving the edge to the OG Fierce. Because it's heavier on the seductive musk, it does project better. My opinion still sits near the fence though.

I've worn Legend twice and loving it. And it is much cheaper than Fierce.

Another recommendation to try out....Azzaro Aqua Verde. It reminds me of Fierce as well.

Yes, they are quite similar. I prefer Legend. Legend has better longevity than Fierce. Though, Fierce is louder in the top notes only. And over Legend, I prefer Mont Blanc Legend Special Edition 2013. They've toned down the musk in this version, giving it less of a "Right Guard" vibe.

Chanel Platinum Egoiste>Mont Blanc Legend>Abercrombie Fierce

Legend is a more mature less screaming version of Fierce

Platinum Egoiste is better than both by a mile !
I use Legend as one of my 30-40 goto work scents.
Legend Limited edition 2012 is just a minty version of Legend, quite nice actually - also for work.

Really don't get the similarity with PE. Infact, I don't get PE at all, really not a fan.

Love A&F, will soon try this other one.

Another in a similar vein would be Cereus no. 7, in my opinion.

Fierce projects more but more expensive.

honestly, theyre 80-90% the same
