Thanks Grant !

Thank you, that was fast. I was, at first, confused with this "Activity Stream", but when I looked under "New Posts" the familiar structure appeared, and the Search took only 0.01 seconds.

Yay, so glad that we're back. Thanks.

Love the activity stream

@ Mimi Gardenia - well, it is an instant view of "who is here" and then the familiar people can connect with one another.

Looks good. Nice and quick too

+1 for Activity Stream! Thanks Grant!

I like the Activity Stream feature. It makes for an instant overview of "who of my friends is here right now". And then, I discovered inside my PROFILE yet another Activity Stream of what I, and my friends were doing. Almost like Facebook News Feed.

Really a vanity trip - so practical - so enjoyable.

This extra feature was thrown in during maintenance operations ? If so, thanks.

There may be more downtime in the future, as each feature adds to the complexity of this L A R G E set-up, but we can live with that ... as we have done before.

So, when checking in, there are two ways of engagement -

either look at NEW POSTS and check for topics that are up for discussion

or hit WHAT'S NEW and get the Activity Stream of who's here.

I just noticed one thing: When I posted using the QUICK REPLY button, the system asked me if I want to leave the page. I pressed Yes as always and then the forum reloaded with my post added to the thread.

However, it also says

" ------ UPDATED -------"

somewhere in the post. Let see if it appears in this post as well. (Hitting POST QUICK REPLY button now)

Formerly, when asked "leave the page" - just l e a v e and quit, without logging out. By magic, when checking back in, the post has landed, without double-posting. Trust me on that.

For some reason, the past few weeks, I'm no longer receiving e-mails with posts to threads I've subscribed/posted to. I still receive e-mails for older threads from earlier, but nothing from recent posts. I've checked my settings & everything looks the same. Any idea what's up with that? Thanks.

They're delayed, by days.

Not notified of PM's by email anymore, either...

I've noticed this as well.

I have noticed, especially in the last couple of days, that I get emails informing me of an ancient PM or/and ancient thread probably from about last month, but none from current threads I am responding to.

Example:-
E-mail sent 26th july 2012 at 7.10 regarding synch fridays message posted 5th July 2012 at 09.45

Just to give you the exact time lag. Nearly 21 days.

It makes it less easy to continue a conversation if you've forgotten what threads you were on.

Thanks Grant. x

Another thumbs up for the Activity Stream - very nice way to keep up with ones friends activity.

I'm having the same issue with email notifications, both for PMs and subscribed thread posts. They are coming weeks late and are essentially useless at that point. By then the thread has either gone cold, or I've already seen the notification of the PM when visiting the site.

That's a weird way for the site to be broken.
