Creed MI, Aventus Newbie Impression

Hi everyone,
I recently joined the forum. After listening to everyone about Creed, I made my first plunge and ordered some Creed samples.
First off the blocks I applied some MI. I was really wanting to try it first having heard so much about the royal lineage.
One word review: Disappointment.
To my untrained nose it appeared I had applied a spray of CK eternity. Especially after about 30 minutes. I could not detect anything new that I hadn't smelt before. Further, it just went out without any trace after maybe 1.5 hours or so.
Next was Aventus. Now this was something else. Initial smell was of some flower (I don;t know which one, please guide me). Later it developed into something baby powder like soft smell. (help me on this one too).
Best comment came from my eight year old daughter (She meanwhile has a very mature sense of taste/smell) as I was driving her down for tennis. She told me "Dad you smell like "Fairyland. I think I am in fairyland".
Thats the long and short of it.
I understand I am new at this so kindly bear with me.
Cheers,

I personally really love MI, though I can understand the criticism.

I hear so many good things about Aventus. It's something I really want to try.

Samples of MI do not do the scent justice especially the dab on kind. Its best sprayed from a bottle to envelop you in all its creamy melony on a sea breeze glory.

To the OP: Keep trying others. You're bound to hit on one you truly like.

Yes , don't give up on these two . I had the same experience with MI when I first tried it . It really needs to be sprayed to get the full character .
Ditto Aventus . Best to try these from a spray bottle . The little dabs really don't do them justice .

Agreed. Hate their dab samples.

That is a good suggestion. It crossed my mind when I was applying those "dabs". I thought to myself a spray would should be really different. And now I hear this!!

The initial smell I get from Aventus is a smoky pineapple. It does have jasmine in the notes, so maybe that's what your smelling.

Here's a short description of what I think each one smells like:

Aventus - Pineapple and woods that are dirtied up a bit by patchouli.

MI - Slightly salty watermelon with ambergris.

Green Irish Tweed - Violet leaf and verbena with a touch of sweetness from the ambergris.

Silver Mountain Water - Tea and Black current with a metallic or inky note.

Himalaya - A musky metallic with a bit of ambergris sweetness.

Original Santal - Cinnamon and ambergris.

Original Vetiver - Soapy citrus barbasol.

Bois du Portugal - Powdery lavender.

Virgin Island Water - Lime coconut Malibu rum.

Tabarome Millesime - Ginger and citrus with a touch of tobacco.
