What's the most bottles of any one fragrance you own?

I'm talking about hoarding for the fragrance apocalypse and you just had that urge to get a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th bottle of your favorite juice *just in case* it was reformulated or discontinued or some other OCD reason.

I am pretty good about this but I do obsess over some of these.

I had to get a 2nd 75 ml bottle of Egoiste after I bought my first bottle. Not sure why....LOL
Did the same after getting Back in Black....got the full expensive bottle then got the travel sprays as backup.

I had a 50 ml bottle of Dior Homme and absolutely had to get the 100 ml, even though both are the reformulated and DH will probably still be available for years to come.

I am now debating whether to get a second bottle of reformulated DHI even though I just got a 100 ml bottle from the DH NYC store 2 weeks ago and have 8 ml of original decant.

I've noticed for me it's more about "having another bottle just in case" rather than a reformulation/discontinuation/etc reason for it.

I have 1 of everything in my collection. Some things I have 0 of. I have upgraded a few though, I had a 15ml mini of Santal Massoia that I bought a 100ml of and sold my travel spray, and I got a full bottle of a bunch of Creed's before my decants ran out ( sold the decants too)
I recently lost several bottles due to storage issues. I feel liberated ! I will have maybe 2 around at the same time...USE THEM then buy new ones. That way I can look forward to researching new possibilities.

I felt gross when I had too many bottles knowing I wouldn't use them.

*Don't worry about stocking up. Eventually you will move onto other fragrances if you hang around here long enough.

I was hoping for someone to say they had 28 bottles of vintage Egoiste or something........

I remember Hiro in a youtube saying he had 5 bottles of DHI
post #5 of 131
I have 2 50mls of Amber Absolute and another 60mls in decants. Looking to get more ) it is discontinued and unmatched
post #6 of 131
4 bottles of YSL M7
Like 6 of Shalimar and 6 of vintage Opium, in assorted concentrations.
1 bottle is the most I have of ANY frag.

If I had an extra $50, I'd buy a new bottle of cologne, not one I already have.

Especially in a whole collection, one bottle should last you 5 to 10 years. If it gets used up at all.

(On the other hand, looking at my collection, Cool Water and Fahrenheit are getting very low. But I'll wait until they run out. Instead of buying a 2nd bottle of something thats at least 20% full.
I have 2 extra Fleur du Male and 2 extra Rive Gauche PH.

Oh, and a 100ml backing up my 50ml of Insense...
I own 3 bottles of Dior Homme Intense. 2 100mls new formulation and 1 50ml vintage bottle. I'm gonna get my hands on a 150ml as soon as I can find it at a good price.
I bought three bottles of GIT when Walgreens had a double discount. Now I have two too many.
I dont see the point unless it is something very rare that you find for a great price. Most people on here, including me, will have a hard time using up a half of one of their bottle in the next 15 years.
Amber Absolute-
I have a 50ml bottle + 30ml in decants. I don't know what to do once it runs out.
I can't believe that they really discontinued this one.
I have a used half 125 ml bottle and two full 125 ml bottles of Rive Gauche Pour Homme. Despite the size of my collection, I would say that in the past 12 months I've already used a full 125ml bottle plus the other half of the one I still have. I also have a full 60ml bottle and another half bottle of Rive Gauche Pour Homme Intense and a full 125 ml bottle of the light version too. I think I'm a bit obsessed!

I'll tell you my logic in the past - I realize it sounds crazy:

Back in Black: "This kilian line might go bust....this expensive packaging and not a big name...so I will get backup just in case"

Chanel Egoiste: "Chanel might discount Egoiste or it will become similar to that L'Maitre Guerlain line type expensive situation like Guerlain did with SDV..."

DH: "Maybe the *next* reformulation, since they already did one, will be worse than this one"

DHI (still contemplating): "This is hard to find...maybe it will be discontinued...or next reformulation will suck...might as well get a backup now"

I only do this for fragrances I love (at the moment).
I have several bottles of some things but not from any special anxieties. In one case I have both a vintage and a current version; several other cases I got special deals on things; I buy minis and small sizes whenever I can and sometimes decide I will use enough to justify a larger bottle and then the mini turns into a travel size. I buy a lifetime supply of everything I "own," so I never need to obsess about things being discontinued and reformulated, never buy decants or splits, never sell anything, and have never run out of anything. This way I don't waste a lot of nervous energy.
I don't count variations/different strengths/reformulations in my count, only multiple bottles of the same exact production.

With that being said: 4 bottles of Style in Play by Lacoste. While I realize it is not highly regarded, it brings back strong memories more so than any other frag. It has grown on my tremendously since owning my first bottle, and I personally love this now.
I bought 4 bottles of Tea for Two when it was discontinued because it's amazing. Now I'm thinking I may just keep two and sell the others, but only if I can sell them for retail or better. This isi the only fragrance that I own more than one of.
Four 100ml Spray bottles of Gengis Khan
I don't hoard, only one bottle of each fragrance. At first I thought you were asking of which scent had we used up the most bottles. That would be M7 as I've finished 6 bottles and am now on the 7th.
I quite foolishly bought several bottles of Halston 1-12 a year or so ago, at a time when I had heard it was being discontinued. I saw several bottles on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx for just a few dollars each and decided to stock up, since it was a scent I was wearing a lot at the time. I think at one point I had 4 bottles, but I have given some away since then. Still, from what I understand the oakmoss has been stripped out of this one, so I'm actually rather glad I have a few pre-reformulation bottles still on hand as it is a fragrance I'm pretty fond of.
i once had and finished 10 bottles of Armani Eau Pour Homme.
One bottle of each scent for me, thanks. By the time I finish I'm usually more interested in other fragrances. Only if I heard one of my all-time favorites was being discontinued would I buy an extra bottle.

For those tripling down on Dior Homme/DHI, have you considered using some of that money to buy a good book on obsessive compulsive behavior?

I'm waiting to see one of you (or me) on Hoarders some day...

"Cameron has 128 bottles of DHI.....but they are all the reformulated version" (said mockingly by narrator)

Me too. I have 2 bottles of Tea For Two because it's discontinued, and because it's freakin' incredible juice. It's the only fragrance I have more than 1 bottle of as well.
I, at some point had several bottles of Mitsouko and Shalimar in different concentrations.
I would only stock up if a fragrance I liked were to be discontinued or reformulated.
I have three bottles of vintage Tabu, but that's only because it was insanely cheap on ebay for the lot.

Similar thing happened with Calandre, so I had one plus two backup bottles, but I'm getting rid of the backups now because I know I'm never getting through it all.
I got 2 bottles of Dior Homme Intense newer reformulation (Jan-Feb 2012) and 10 ml big ass sample of the vintage stuff, so this is my represented perfume.
Gucci Envy For Men. One 50 ml bottle 2/3 full, and one 100 ml bottle 100% full. What can I say, I love that one
post #31 of 131
I have 3 of Lolita Lempicka's Au Masculin and 3 (one in the small, and two in the medium sizes) of Antidote, and two of Spicebomb. I thought I'd need more Spicebomb, the way I was using it in March, but with the warm weather and I haven't touched it or Antidote in a month or so.

Yes I agree. That said, I have 4 bottles of Guerlain Vetiver - one new bottle, one vintage, and two ribbed (a 125ml and a travel size one).
I do not believe in back-up since I don't think I'll ever finish any full bottle. The only fragrance I have 2 and a half bottles of is La Rose Angel but it is not intentional (half bottle is given to me by a friend when I've already ordered a bottle, the other bottle I received from a package deal along with Lily Angel)
I only buy backups of my favorite Creed fragrances that have been discontinued (Citrus Bigarrade, Vetiver '48, Selection Verte).
I own multiple bottles of many fragrances. I am primarily a collector of vintage and discontinued frags and tend to add them to my collection as I find good deals. I buy some of these to sell to other collectors.

I think I have 8 or 9 bottles of Ungaro I, 10 or so bottles of Aigner Superfragrance, 8 or so bottles of Ralph Lauren Monogram, half a dozen bottles of Rochas Macassar, 4 bottles of Guerlain Derby. There are many vintage frags that I own 2-4 bottles of.
Acqua Di Gio- 17
Coconut Lime Verbena- 3
Pure Havane- 3
Pure Malt- 2
Pure Coffee- 2
Dior Homme- 2
Aventus- 2 (50ml decants)
Only 4 bottles of Azzaro pour Homme (3 vintage, 1 new) and - gasp - 3 bottles of Green Irish Tweed from a time when I had the foolish thought to outsmart "batch/bitch variations". In reality the game turns out to be Russian roulette. I own 2 bottles of many other fragrances in my wardrobe but this isn't worth mentioning.
4 bottles of Knize Ten, a couple of bottles of Yatagan, 1740 (older formulation) and Givenchy III
post #39 of 131
If counting re-release and vintage together, then:

3 bottles of Giorgio for Men (1 vintage, 2 re-release)
3 bottles of JHL by Aramis (2 vintage, 1 re-release)
I have 3 spare for pardon.....1 spare for tuscan leather.....and 10 for DHI (vintage)......
Hard to give a number accurately, but at some point I had maybe 3 or 4 of Terre d' Hermes. It's hard to say because they weren't all what I would class as bottles - several miniature/travel size EdT sprays, a 100ml bottle and the pocket size 30ml spray (with belt clip) and the 120ml refill that it comes with. Not to mention a bottle of the Parfum, if that counts too.

That's a lot of juice, which I have since thankfully used up!
I have about half of a flacon of Green Valley left, plus 3 x 75ml back-up bottles. That should see me out.
I have three 125mL bottles of YSL Rive Gauche

+1.

It may explain the rabid dhi fanboyism on here though. I guess when they've been compulsive hoarding a pile of shite, they have to keep reassuring each other that its a "masterpiece"
one bottle for each perfume, but Creed Vetiver 48 (3 8.4 flacon, 1 75 ml bottle)
I own two backups, one each for Kouros and Aventus. When Kouros was rumored to be discontinued, I bought a backup, and when I had the opportunity to buy Aventus 2.5 oz for $107 shipped, I jumped on it. No regrets, and no need to buy any more.
3 bottles Pure Malt
3 bottles Zino
3 bottles Nicole Miller
3 bottles Horizon
20 bottles of Gucci Envy 50 ml
I own 2 bottles of Habit Rouge, Terre d'Hermès, l'Instant pour Homme and Héritage: 1 EDT + 1 EDP. + 2 x 50ml bottles l'Essence de Must de Cartier(backup).
I backup backups (and backups of backups)
Total squirrel, me.

I swear we would make great friends! I've got

Dior Homme (vintage) x 2
Dior Homme Intense (new) x2
Dior Home (new) x1
Aventus 1x50ml (decant), 1x30ml and 1x75ml
Pure Havane x2

now I am aiming for two Pure Malts.

I failed to mention that I had 13 bottles of the new Eau Sauvage Parfum when my bottles went bad. I ruined them by putting them in the refrigerator. An entire year of credit card points...GONE.

Gluttony is a sin and we all must pay someday. It taught me a lesson though and to be honest it keeps this game more interesting. I no longer fear products being discontinued because I know that BASENOTES will eventually lead me to another interesting fragrance. This time around it was Knize 10. I am happy for the time being.

I can't believe that they really discontinued this one.

You can buy it on the Harrods website. They ship to the US.

We get it: You don't like DHI. It's ok to not like it, but don't forget that at the end of the day it's a very subjective area. Your statements aren't facts, they're just a personal opinion.
Well, I have 2 tester bottles of M7 (one nearly gone) and a non-tester bottle all original formulation. Plus one bottle of the first reformulation. I wear this a lot and the price will only go up until unavailable for a decent price.
I have nine 50ml bottles of Nautica Oceans - bought up most of the last wave at the local discounters.
Currently owning 1-4 backup bottles of Ungaro III, Armani EPH, Eau Sauvage, Avon Black Suede Touch, Guerlain Vetiver, Gucci Envy and quite a few more scents.
I have about 1500ml of Creed Original Vetiver in 4 bottles. An unopened 1000ml, 2 opened 250ml and a newly opened 120ml bottle. I do wear it liberally but what I have should hold me for a good 7-8 years.

Sous le Vent - half a dozen 125ml bottles. It's a rather expensive staple but there's nothing like it and you never know when the axe is gonna fall so there you go.
