For a long time I have been mulling over the decision on whether or not to pull the trigger on a bottle of Santal Mossoia, and a week ago I finally did.
The hot and humid summer months down here can prove to be a challenge when deciding which fragrance to wear.
Santal Massoia provides a smooth, clean, fresh vibe, with a traceable amount of oud. The coconut and possibly fig does make it seem creamy but not in the traditional way. Its a fresh creamy and I get why people say its like milk, a nice tall cool glass of milk. This is also the first time I have smelled sandalwood done this way.
The initial spray smells amazing. A unique fragrance that there is nothing that I have smelled that is similar. I have heard it smells similar to Le Labo's Santal 33 but I have never smelled that. The scent, sillage, and longevity are excellent for the first hour-hour and a half. I even got unsolicited compliments at my office which is rare. Everyone is used to me wearing so many different fragrances that it has become the norm. But people actually went out of their way to ask about this one.
Unfortunately after about 2 hours either due to my skin, olfactory fatigue, or the fragrance itself it turns into a skin scent. However it does last longer sprayed onto clothes. the soft subtle smell does last for about 4-6 hours though. Which in the heat I kind of like.
Overall, i really enjoy this scent while it's alive and kicking. To me it's worth it. Its excellent for casual daytime wear in the summer and I believe it can also be used throughout all seasons.
