Have you tried Noir de Noir by Tom Ford?

+1 on this but too strong for men to wear IMHO.
The now discontinued Voile de Fleur Black Orchid was much more refined and toned down. Again though, that was a bit feminine.

An almost off-topic question: could there be any experimental perfumery, but also cosmetics/grooming products etc. manufacturers actually able and willing to distill/produce/bottle etc. truffle-based essential oils (usable both plain and undiluted, but also as possible basis for other fragrance combinations/formulas, other cosmetics/beauty care/therapeutic etc. articles)?

Tom Ford Extreme is a more masculine variant of Black Orchid

Noir de Noir by Tom Ford has a really distinctive Truffle note.

Eau d'Italie Sienne l'Hiver is said to contain a black truffle note (which I can't detect!). I find Malle's Dans te Bras heavy on truffles!

I don't know that there is much oil to be had from truffles. All the culinary products are synthetic, and this would probably be the way to go for aromachemicals, too. There was a great article in the NY Times a few years ago about this: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/16/di...pagewanted=all. Even the ridiculously expensive, artisanal truffle oils are synthetic.

You make truffle oil by putting the truffles in a sealed container with butter or oil. You want the truffles to be separate from the fats, not immersed, like if you have a gallon jar, put the truffles in a small cup and cover with damp paper towels. The idea is to trap the gas the truffles emit into the fat. Gallons and pounds of truffle oil and butter can be made this way. When the truffles start getting a little soft, they can be buried in fleur de sel in a sealed jar for truffle salt. I also tried making truffle bacon this way and it was awesome, but a little too much of a good thing.
I'm surprised no one is doing this commercially. I learned from the Czarnecki's at a truffle festival, they make the best truffle oil and butter I have tried. http://www.oregontruffleoil.com/

I tried noir noir from Tom ford, was too heavy on me. I found 100. Parfum Chic from Le Parfumeur Ã* lancienne. I ordered the free smelling blotters and bought a bottle. It is very close to the Black orchid, but is less incensed and more with the black berry. It fits well on my skin.
I also tried a couple of others of their collection. The fragrance has strong lasting power, as well has the 57. I 'clove' Incense.
I think I'll also use the 57. It is sharp on the blotter, but it blends well with my skin. It is a unique fragrance. Haven"t smelled anything like this before.
