Unfortunately, not terribly active in my community. I used to do a lot more when my boys were younger. I try to support the school's activities by attendance and monetary support.

Does the pursuit of wisdom require us to accept all points of view as valid? If so, why?
No, all available points of view go into the hopper of decision, so to speak. But, logic will dictate the ultimate, sensible decision and the garnered wisdom will flow naturally.

Who will win the Euro 2012 final, Italy or Spain?
I think a person can have a feeling of peace even while struggling. Not always easy, but it's what I strive for. And for me, that in itself is achieving something.

Whoops! have to edit, I was too slow. The Euro? Haven't a clue, will leave that for someone else who follows it!

How much do you think that internet and social media has influenced the political opinions of people? eg. If you are for a cause, do you gravitate towards sites, etc., that you side with? Or try to see both sides. Naturally, this is what is best! I've just found that so many have been turning this way or that way in their opinions and often don't stop to look at the whole picture on many important issues.

How will you spend July 4th (for those people who recognize it as a holiday)?
Thread Starter
As the 4th is just one day off in the middle of the week, we won't be doing anything special. Probably DH will grill, maybe we will go to some friends to float around in their pool. Try to soothe the dog who is afraid of the fireworks.

Are there days that you waste just trying to get through them instead of enjoying and savoring the time?
There have been days like that in the past. I learnt a few years ago that time does fly and to pay attention to every moment of every day to the best of my ability . As one gets older, time flies even faster in ratio to one's age ...... As a psychologist friend of mine has said .

When are we self-improved enough to accept ourselves?
I can only speak for myself. And, in that regard, self-improvement is a continuum for me. Yet, I accept my flawed nature, knowing that my attempts for improvement are fruitful, even though not nearly perfected as my Savior.

What is the WWW World to you?
I'm confused a little bit by your question, but I'll give it a go. In the good old days, the world wide web was a glorious place where people came together and shared information with each other for the benefit of human knowledge. And it was something for people for whom computers were vitally important. Nowadays, now that the plebs have taken ownership of their portion of it (and this has been the case for sometime) it is harder to find relevant information since you have to search through large portions of nonsense aimed at the casual surfer. That, and every search word put into a search engine pulls up porn somehow and other garbage. I miss the good old days, but whatever.

What impact are you wanting to leave on the world?
First & most importantly, most of all to be a good parent. On another level, I believe that those who know me well - will have memories of me being a champion of animals. Dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, horses, cows ... spaying, neutering your pets, etc. I don't belong to PETA or anything like that, I just quietly try to do what I can close to home, because that's where it works best for me.

What do you think of the word "sucks", eg " that perfume sucks"
I ask because I've always hated that expression. I know so many people find it.... useful.

I think that the word 'sucks' is just descriptive for me and it doesn't really bother me too much . It's a harsh word though .
I agree there are perhaps more suitable words to use .

Which of the four temperaments reflects your personality, and why?
Sanguine and melancholic because I tend to teeter between the two extremes quite frequently. For instance it's not unlike me to go to a party/social gathering and willingly introduce myself to new people and mingle with them for a while and end the night on good terms, whereas the next day I could easily fall into an introverted state and just want to read for pleasure or commit myself to reading ahead on schoolwork that hasn't even begun yet, oftentimes digressing for introspection and mulling over meaning-of-life type questions.

In regard to your field of work, did you get the ideal job/career you originally set out for, or did you end up somewhere that you would've never been able to fathom seeing yourself at? And are you content where you're currently employed?
Well, I'm not the next Van Gogh or E.M. Forster like I originally planned, but I am happy with what I do. I have discovered that I have to feel gratified by my work to really be happy with my job.
