I love the GIT drydown, but I also love the lemon-based opening.

Are there any frags which has a drydown similar to GIT's opening.

You must be the new Salim. And to answer your question. Chez Bond maybe.

No! I meant the OPENING. The drydown is Cool Water.

But I'm talking about the lemon opening. Tell me where the lemon is in Cool Water. -_-

Cereus No 7 for the heart notes, but I think the base is somewhat different.

I hear this all the time, but I've gotta be honest.....now granted, I've only smelled GIT twice....but neither time did I think of Cool Water. I've owned a few bottles of Cool Water in my life, including a couple of the vintage bottles back in the early/mid 90's, and I don't remember them smelling anything like the Green Irish Tweed sample that I smelled just a few weeks ago......

Have had both for a long time. I'm with you. I don't see the connection.

I get most of the similarities between Cool Water and GIT in the opening and mid - the base of GIT is what separates these two frags the most IMHO

But yes, Davidoff Cool Water.

Also check out Bond No.9 Chez Bond - a more feminine take on GIT and Cool Water, but still very unisex IMHO.
Also try Freshman from Truefitt & Hill, and there is an other one, a cheapie, I forgot its name, that also smells pretty similar to GIT......

OMG. Cool Water DOES NOT have a lemon note. If any of you read properly, that alone should disqualify it.

I like G.I.T. a lot. But damn, it is over rated. It does however makes for a descent and safe office scent.

I was wondering when someone would mention Salim again!

Is GIT's opening similar to Cool Water's ... Yes
BUT while GIT's opening is smoother and greener, Cool Water's opening is harsh, sharp and synthetic.

If you want Creed Lemon then I would suggest Bois de Cedrat.

Cool Water Summer Fizz, my favorite of the limited edition flankers, has a nice citrus opening that lasts into the trademark Cool Water dry down. I actually like this flanker quite a bit more than regular CW. The only downside is it has shorter longevity. Summer Fizz was the 2006 version of the yearly CW flanker, but can still be found easily online for around $30. Also, to me, the dry down in this one is more reminiscent of the "muskier/mossier" vintage Cool Water. If you are looking for a nice fizzy citrus/Cool Water combo, I highly recommend this one.
