there are plenty of "bang for your buck" frags out there that IMO are quite good and rival expensive frags. That being said you can still get Creed GIT for around $140-150 or so

My favorite "values"
Yardley Citrus and Wood
Halston Z-14
Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve
Azzaro PH
Rive Gauche
DR Harris Marlborough Cologne
Dirty English
Moustache
L'Essence De Cerrutti

Terre d'Hermes would top my list, followed by Giorgio for Men. Both can be acquired under $125 combined.

There are hundreds of great fragrances under $125! Ignore the Creed, Frederic Malle, Mona Di Orio and Amouage line and pretty much what your left with (amongst commonly discussed fragrance lines) is your answer

I would disagree slightly. Take Nordstroms for example, you can find some niche like lines there (creed, aqua di parma etc) but most of what they have is so so and bland imo. Spicebomd, cartiers etc just dont do it for me. So i iniated this thread to specifically note what people consider a great fragrance equal in quality and smell to a Creed but for half the price since its often stated here that they exist. Honestly if Creed were able to fix the longevity/sillage issues no other house could touch them imo.

Well, I haven't yet found a Creed that I've even remotely enjoyed - so of course that's just an opinion.
There are exceptional releases from Parfumerie Generale, Parfum D'Empire, Tauer, Serge Lutens, Comme Des Garcons, L'Artisan Parfumeur - all under that price and IMO far far superior to most Creed offerings.
If you want things that smell like Creed - then you gotta stick with Creed. For me, the constant batch variations and hearing nothing but disappointment and confusion regarding purchases and reformulations - that's enough to keep me from bothering to explore the line further.

Terre D'Hermes is a good start

some that I think are pretty good for that price range are
givency-play
ysl-la nuit
ysl- l'homme

If you do not mind supplying your own atomizer, which can be bought cheaply enough, and do not need all the pretty packaging, you can get all the Killian line, except for the Ouds as refills for $125.00.

If you do not mind the smaller sizes, you can get all the Chanel Les Exclusifs for $110.00.

The other thing, I would watch the split boards, there are many great fragrances for $125.00 or under.

LIDGE

Remember, you can always get niche scents like Creed from splits which brings their prices well below $125 for 50mL.

$125 is quite a budget for a bottle. What's your style?

Huh? You can get Creeds for under $125. Even Aventus. Go in on a split.

As for "best under $125", holy cow, that's almost everything in the entire men's section at Sephora. And it's the majority of everything at Nordstrom.

$125 is enough to cover most niche brands as long as you're not paying retail. 2.5 ml Creeds can be found on eBay for around $100, I paid $126 for a 4oz bottle of Erolfa. If you want something that smells like a Creed it's simple, buy a Creed!

Buy a split of Aventus off here and its better than any designer scent ever made.

Dior Homme / Dior Homme Intense

If you can handle the old classics, they're all value-priced except for Guerlains (though L'Instant Pour Homme and PH Extreme are nicely priced). Caron has some great ones cheap (Yatagan, Troisieme Homme). Chanel Antaeus and Egoiste are solid.

Modern classics, dirt cheap, include Dirty English for $20 at Marshall's.

New and distinctive - try Caron Yuzu Man - rich man's Acqua di Gio.

A great deal on some highly overlooked niche - totally unique (especially on a guy) is this Japanese scent, for a mere $54:

L'Eau de Kasaneka - beautiful woody chypre/chypreoid (no listed oakmoss but whatever)

No need to spend $140, unless you're buying two frags!

Even Comme des Garçons 2MAN is $95 - amazing scent!

Buy from sellers with high positive feedback. As a rule of thumb, if it looks too good to be true chances are it probably is, meaning if you see a 4oz bottle of GIT listed for $50 it's probably a fake. Rest assured that if you buy something on eBay and pay with paypal your purchase is protected and if it turns out to be fake you will be reimbursed. One seller I've used is millcreekrescue, great prices and totally genuine products. Hope that helps.
