Summer Scent for Office- HIGH QUALITY

I need suggestions for an Office Scent for Summer/Hot Weather. Must smell expensive, high quality etc. Something "newer" would be preferrred. Thanks in advance
post #2 of 80
GIT or bleu de chanel. also voyage d'hermes
post #3 of 80
I would seriously suggest Azzaro Chrome Legend as something to look in to and consider. No, it's not "niche", and it's not expensive....but it has a very business/casual scent to it, projects well and has good longevity. I added it to my collection strictly because it is fairly cheap yet smells more expensive, and if perfect for a summer office scent. And while it's "safe" and inoffensive, it's not boring. And a 4.2 ounce bottle can be had for usually under $40 as well. Definitely one worth looking in to.

Not newer at all, but this is my usual office wear:

Creed MI
Cartier Roadster
Dior Homme
YSL Rive Gauche PH
Chanel Egoiste (some might not like this for work YMMV)
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
Le Labo Bergamote 22

All should work fine in summer if not oversprayed.

Creed Aventus

Get Aventus, it's the best fragrance ever created and should just be enough for your purpose. All your female coworkers will love you for it and worship you like a god.

Yes IB is a great choice for this. I also forgot to mention Creed Windsor
post #11 of 80
Xerjoff Nio or Xerjoff 1861

Got to TJ Maxx and get Brooks Bros. NY Gentlemen for $9.99. Fits your needs.

These all sound good for office wear. I think you can wear almost anything in an office setting as long as you don't go too heavy with it. For some fragrances that is no more than 1/2 a spritz and others it might be 3 but no need to ban anything in my opinion. It is all a form of personal expression - be yourself.

EDIT: I just now saw the hot weather request for which I've had lots of experience with I and recommend either: an eau de cologne style, a light woods/incense, light green fragrance or an atmospheric white musk scent. These are my hot weather recommendations:

EAU DE COLOGNE - Guerlain Imperiale or Cologne du Parfumeur, Serge Lutens L' Eau Froide, Byredo Mister Marvelous, TDC Limon de Cordoza, Oolong Infiniti.

LIGHT WOODS - Declaration L' Essence, Roadster, Andree Putman, Escentric 02, Molecule 01, KenzoAir.

LIGHT GREEN - Trumper Limes, Angelique Sous la Pluie, Vetiveru, Hinoki, Lacoste Booster, CDG Peppermint, Heely Verveine, Villoresi Uomo, TDC Tokyo Bloom.

LIGHT MUSK: Silver Musk, Transcendental Musk, Cologne du Parfumeur, M.M. Margiela Untitled l' Eau, Antimatiere, DSH L' Eau.

You are looking for AVENTUS

One important thing that needs to be considered, and factored in here......that jrocco did not mention....is price.

Is price important? Or is it irrelevant?

Because it's always easy for others to spend someone else's money. So suggesting fragrances that are between $100 to $200+ is easy for the person making the suggestion....not so much for the person who will be making the purchase.

Look no further than Guerlain Homme L'Eau.

Invasion Barbare or Aventus

Here's one I just sampled that is now high on my list. Heeley Sel Marin

You really cannot go wrong in this case with GIT.
Try:

Colonia Assoluta by Acqua di Parma
- Upon application, one is treated to a deluge of citrus. Orangey and slightly peppery bergamot, sweet and bitter orange, as well as lemon-scented verbena, all interplay in a sparkling, citric accord. This invigorating accord is showered by various spices, namely, a somewhat spicy and aromatic cardamom, a fruity and creamy, pink pepper, as well as a smooth and spicy, chili pepper. This diffusive brew percolates a bit, and meanders to the heart. Here, florals infuse the stimulating opening. A tutti-frutti jasmine, a sweet rose, a dusty orchid, and a sweetly balsamic and exotic ylang-ylang immerse the citrus mix. A faint undercurrent of spicy cedarwood carries the morphed melange to the base. Here, the cedarwood comes into its own, imparting its cypress-ish facets with their woody and piney aura. Patchouli adds its earthy and slightly musty aspects, while white musk imbues its faint soapiness. Magical amber supplies a somewhat dark and sweetish shading of resins and woods as well. The confluence of the foregoing leads to a comforting drydown. A truly unisex composition, it is higly versatile, and will accommodate a suit and tie as well as gentlemanly casual attire. This high-quality and elegant Eau de Cologne has good projection, a 2-3 hour, scent cloud before passing to a skin scent, and good longevity, at least 7 hours, and will shine in spring, summer, and fall.

&

Antidote by Viktor & Rolf - One is immediately treated to a fresh and cooling, citrus opening, furnished by the zesty grapefruit, nectarous mandarin and tart bergamot, with a twist of sharp mint. Tumbling to the flush middle, the sweet florals of fruity freesia, green geranium, earthy violet, light lavender and citrusy orange bloosom are nicely encased by the warm and pleasant spices of nutmeg and cinnamon. This lovely, strong heart meanders to the robust base. Here, a pastiche of evocative leather, lively incense, creamy amber, sweet vanilla, murky vetiver, resinous labdanum, clean treemoss, smoky guaiacwood, carroty iris, dry white cedar, bright sandalwood, powdery tonka beans, herbaceous patchouli and soapy white musk bombard you with scents you have experienced a thousand times before. Remarkably, this motley assault leads to an entertaining and intriguing drydown. This high-quality enterprise is very versatile in light of its kaleidoscopic heads, and can be worn any time and any season. A one-stop wonder, this amalgamated composition has excellent longevity and good projection.

French Lover - Editions de Parfum. Woody. Crisp.
Kobe - Xerjoff - bergamot and orange blossom.
34 Boulevard Saint Germain - Diptyque - resins - floral.

+ 1 for Bergamote 22 and Egoiste (not the Platinum version)

Also, try Frapin L'Humaniste.

I work in a corporate environment, and as I look through my collection of fragrances suitable for the summer....

Creed Green Irish Tweed, Creed Aventus, Versace Eau Fraiche, and Dior Homme Sport 2012....

Any of those would work (except for Versace). My personal favourite out of the four is (surprisingly) Dior Homme Sport 2012 (the latest reformulated version, not the old version which I also used to own). As much as I like GIT and Aventus (Aventus is particularly good but I find longevity is disappointing compared to Dior Homme Sport), Dior Homme Sport 2012 is great....love the citrus/ginger opening notes with the iris to give it a 'deeper' vibe and the cedar base. Lasts a lot longer than Aventus, smells expensive (because it's a Dior fragrance and has been well formulated) and is a lot less expensive than a Creed fragrance.

GIT is always a solid, safe choice.

Millesime Imperial great too, especially in warm weather. But many (including me) have longevity issues with this one.

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
One should not wear "low quality" smelling fragrances. This is the wrong forum for such.

My favorites for summer are:

Live Jazz
Gendarme
Lanvin PH (check skin chemistry first)
Rive Gauche (year round, if you want a bit more spice)
Grafton (same as above, a fave after wetshaving)

Best summer office scent- Creed's Original Vetiver...can't go wrong...
I second Antidote. I would also suggest Prada Infusion de Vetiver. Both are excellent and seem best when lightly applied, which should work nicely in an office setting.
New: another vote for Tom Ford Gray Vetiver, elegant, masculine, very attractive, and it leaves a very discreet trail!!
Older but definately worthwhile contenders: Chanel Pour Monsieur or Dior Eau Suavage, both cool, elegant, confident and groomed in the Office setting, but can be worn for fun too!
Fantastic but expensive: Xerjoff Casamorati Fiero. Traditional Cologne style which reeks quality. Really special IMO.

Good call Foustie. I recently got a full bottle of Fiero and does great in warm weather...

Where's this office that everyone wears Invasion Barbare? Must be something to do with finance

Eau Sauvage

Hermes Equipage has been good for me this summer.
I agree with Invasion Barbare and Millesime Imperial. Also, I think Dior Leather Oud performs beautifully in hot weather, and with a light application would be quite nice as an office scent that stands apart from the lighter options.

I tried Invasion barbare for the first time yesterday, didn't think much of it at all on first wearing.

Agree with Aventus, GIT and Bleu de Chanel. Can also add Burberry Touch as an office safe scent for all weathers.
Hilarious.

Yes Invasion Barbare, why not? I tend to go with Eau de Guerlain, Sous le Vent, Granville when it's hitting 35c and if I need to head out for meetings. Tiffany for Men works surprisingly well in this heat as well.
You might want to give Nuit Etoilee-Annick Goutal, the new kid but perfect for the summer. Also, Eau de Sud.

Green Irish Tweed is the swiss army knife of fragrances -- perfect for any occasion. I often wear it to work, and always feel special when I do. I don't personally care for Aventus, and don't think it fits the office environment as well; but that's my own personal opinion.

Since so many others have recommended GIT, here are three other options:

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino is my current office favorite. Light, Summery, vaguely floral orange. I don't know if it smells expensive. I think it does, but some complain it smells like floral detergent. Boo on them!

Tiffany for Men: This is a perfect classic-smelling scent for the office.

No one's mentioned Gendarme, I think -- that's a nice choice. High class, "soapy" cologne that won't offend, but smells great. You won't bowl anyone over, but no one will complain about your cologne, and you'll smell nice.
