Good Morning Everyone, have a nice week...Today I'm in Parfumerie Generale Papyrus De Ciane (one of my biggest 180)

Good Morning,

(((Ineespenes))).
Welcome home, Fleurine !
Foustie - Sounds like you and Ody had an awesome time - thanks so much for sharing. Meetups with BNers are indeed the best. Of course, you and everyone else are most welcome chez moi any time you like. I'll have the staff make up some of the rooms in the guest wing. Or, if you prefer, the converted gate-house is very cosy too.
Hi Larimar ! Great to see you again. Enjoy the rest of your well-earned holiday. Ps. Smelling fantastic, as always.

I managed to coax a few samples from the SAs at Selfridges yesterday, including the new Amouages and CdG's latest offering.
Testing Interlude Man today.
Best to all.

Morning boys! I am still dizzy from the thrill of meeting Ody on Saturday but I must get focused for a busy day at work, so I decided on the unclttered Esvedra then decided that I needed something sharper, so Acqua de Genova goes in the handbag.

Larimar, so nice of you to pop in to see us!!!!! G, enjoy your dads visit. Hope ((((((Ine)))))) is OK.

Danny, will get back to you very soon, sorry dear friend, been so busy.

Morning all! The delicous buttery-syrupy-smoky-sandalwoody SL Jeux de Peau for me, as I go to an interview. MUST remember to keep wrist-sniffing to very discreet minimum...

I'm (not) on the edge of glory because I'm glorious in Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire today.

Some bad words from yesterday's daily news...
For decades (if not for centuries) the phenomenon of tornados has been foreign to this part of the world where I live. Yesterday three small tornados struck the north part of Poland! Some people lost everything they had! They lost their houses and homes, their crops have been turned upside down and the strong wind stole some of their animals. Thank God that there were no casualties, everyone survived! I can't imagine how hopeless this is... News like this make me sad...

So sorry, Lucas. The weather around the world seems to have gone nuts these days. Similar things have happened in Japan, where tornados were unheard of until now. When things like this happen, I try to focus on the good and thank god there were no casualties.

Hi everyone! Had a great time last night at the new thread I started (Dinner Guest and fragrance) revelling in my Midnight in Paris moments.

SOTD is OJ Frangipani for the day and Caron Tabac Blond later for drinks with a friend.

Have a great day everyone!

That might prove difficult, as you know, it's a reaction that is ingrained in us all! Are you going to a job interview? Good luck!

A few drops of bracing Yuzu Fou- again house scent twin, Lucas! I'm sorry for the tornado, when I saw the news I thought of you!- to help me prepare my luggage (and my partner's too ) for a short seaside holiday...

And we're scent twins with Parfum d'Empire again, ha! The need for few bottles from them is growing inside me. Thanks for your thougts! I like in the central Poland so the tornados were far away from me but still I'm sad for the people affected. Hope they'll manage to stand on their own legs soon!

Foustie, I so enjoyed reading about your meetup with Ody! Thanks for sharing.

SOTD is Annick Goutal Musc Nomade, a lovely skin scent that is clean but in a gentle, organic-smelling way, not in a harsh, synthetic laundry musk way.

Notes include muscone, white musk stemming from angelica root and ambrette seed, tonka beans, labdanum, Bombay wood (a papyrus variety)

Wish you all a good start to your week!

Foustie, so happy you had a good time! Great report, was worth waiting for! Very happy for you!

Lucasai, so sorry the scary weather has found Poland but very glad you were not affected.

(((Ine))), very sorry about the lame boyfriend. The best advice I can offer is to set your standards very high and prepare to be a little lonely while you wait for the one who deserves to be with you. No fun, right? But you are young, you can fill your time with friends and your own interests in the meantime. The loneliness you'll feel while looking and dating is nothing compared to the loneliness of a bad relationship. Hang in there, the man who will appreciate you is out there!

Getting pretty wild today- wearing Coco Mademoiselle EDP instead of EDT. Need to replenish and wanted to check one more time that it's the EDT I prefer more. It is. Off to Macy's I go!

Lucasai-I'm glad no one was killed in the tornadoes, how frightening though. Take care and best wishes.

Hi everyone!

Foustie, loved reading your account of your date with Ody, sounds like so much fun.

Lucasai, so sorry to hear of the tornadoes in Poland, glad you are safe.

(((Inees))) thinking of you today.

Wearing Marc Jacobs Lola today. Notes are grapefruit, pink pepper, pear,
rose, peony, geranium, vanilla, tonka bean and musk.

Have a great day!

Good morning friends. After awaking to a glowing review from Cestrum Nocturnum, I decided to wear my own Black Antlers. Been working on new perfumes all weekend. have a great day!
(((((ine))))) Perfumed Lady said it all.
Welcome back, fleurine.
Hello, Larimar, are you down for the Weil pass around?

This summer, I am returning repeatedly to Oscar de la Renta Volupté. A green powdery floral that says, "I'm too cool to sweat the heat." A world apart from watery, this is substantial fragrance that has depth without weight—if that makes any sense. The bottle with its clear green stopper is especially elegant, which adds to the pleasure in applying.

More thoughts and hugs for (((Inees))) .

Yes, the world weather has gone a bit crazy - I am sorry about the tornadoes in Poland, Lucasai .

Foustie
- how great to meet lovely Ody !

This morning I am wearing Petite Cherie EDP.

Jujy, I love Volupte!

Today is Arquiste Aleksandr.

Yes, the leather is *very* similar to the suede in Daim Blond (which is probably why I love it), yes it's less sweet than Daim Blond (which isn't actually a selling point for me), but the violet leaf gives Aleksandr a bit of a clean, green feel whereas the candied apricot in Daim Blond does not. I like them both very much.

Hello, everyone

Today Halston Eau de Cologne. Many thanks to PerfumedLady who introduced me to it. I still can't believe how cheap and good it is.

Lucasai - sorry to hear about your weather. We live on the edge of Tornado alley and I saw one myself. It is very scary.

Mimi Gardenia - I was expecting another wear of Une Fleur de Cassie from you . This stuff is great, I would like a bottle myself too.

Wooznib - almost went for Intuition today, was thinking about you. I am thoroughly impressed by your Orange Cologne, and I am not a big fan of colognes in general.

Wooznib; oh, I will die and go to heaven! Lucky you! All I get from my profession is the musty smell of antiques, turpentine and oils.
It's nice seeing your perfume work area, wooznib, thanks for sharing that.

A hot and humid day here (so what else is new?) Daughter wants to go swimming today but I haven't bought a town pool pass yet, so it'll be off to the Parks and Rec department first. No perfume yet.

30 R thank you. Brewing up a good package for you. Can't wait to hear your impressions on a few new works.

(((((My whole BN family, and most especially lovelorn Ineespenes)))))

Foustie -- no photos? You disappoint. Ah, but you are good with words.

Thanks to all who posted photos in this thread today. Each one tickled me in a different way.

The weather. Yes, the weather. To paraphrase Sonny and Cher, "The heat goes on, and the heat goes on." Crops are failing throughout our state. Some areas are seeking official disaster status so farmers might be financially compensated due to peculiar early drought. We have another two days of dangerous heat advisories. Just going out to water my small kitchen garden makes me sweat through my clothes. If I had Kewart's cool weather, at least I could do something outside. However, I wouldn't trade Lucasai for tornadic winds.

After this morning's shower, I applied some English lavender powder from Bourbon French Parfums, and Jicky followed in logical accompaniment.

Funny that... I changed and put on some right now ! *LOL* Love it . I really don't understand all the reviews about it being animalic and bestial, cat pee - like etc. I get NONE of that ,never have - not one smidgen of cumin anywhere. Strange !
My bottle came with a matte cap , not the new shiny one. The juice is still golden in color. Beautiful color - the way real perfume should look. Sorry - I am old fashioned that way . I like my perfume to look golden in color !

Good evening fragrant friends. Thinking of Ine in her distress.
SotD has been Alien A Taste of Fragrance which is sweet, jasmine, salty and woody all at once. Mr Ali thinks I smell of old fashioned cough sweets and it made him grin. Always a blessing if he can actually smell my scents. This is my fave Alien by far. Great but not offensive sillage and an eons worth of longevity

I'm growing to love this buoyed by a little humidity, too! Can't help but dig that bottle. Have to say jujy54, I've been admiring your taste from afar since joining recently: big love for Antilope and you make me so curious about Mollie Parnis, of whose clothes I have a few vintage pieces.

I've been sampling Tubéreuse Criminelle today, but it really doesn't suit me at all. Like it on paper, but hmm, give me Fracas or give me tuberose death.

On a break to meet friends for a late lunch of Vietnamese food then back to the drawing board: I have my new mini of the discontinued mini-legend XS Extreme Girl, and I'm not afraid to use it!

Wearing the absolutely beautiful Garner James Magnolia this afternoon. This is how a magnolia fragrance should smell, pure and natural, not overwhelmed with tons of citrus. Totally delightful, will have to post a review once I find out where it should be posted. Thank you Wooznib!

Jon, loved the picture of the bunnies in the tea cups, so cute!!

Cumin? I had no idea there was cumin and I usually can smell it a mile away. I don't get the cat-pee, animalic comments either. I got on a split with heperd a while ago but he had to cancel as no one except me expressed interest. I guess if Mr. Whitefluffy can forego another piece of junk for his garage I will get a full bottle.

Aww...those bunnies!!

No. 19 Poudré for me today.

Today I'm wearing:

1 Dose Vipp Rubbish Bin
2 Doses Pepperoni Pizza

It's a magical accord, slightly rubbery, yet with the tinyest hint of oregano and red pepper that makes the mix perfect for any time of day or year! As soon as I have disposed of the last vestiges of rubbish and watered the garden, I think I might pour Aqua Lavanda all over me and allow the excess to drip everywhere as I walk about......

What have I told you all about 20 times already, folks? Buy it, borrow it, ask for it -- it is totally worth it, it was my second biggest impression for the whole year of 2011. It is Garner James' best, as excellent as they come, wearable in all weathers.

Well, we have moved. Got the Internet hooked up last Friday. My mailing address is still the same, PO Box. I have missed you all, some even more than others. Glad to see Miss Tao posting again (who else would say "ayem"?)

Bought somebody else's pre-loved fumes, like 3 or 4 of them.

Been wearing various fragrances, right now I am working on a mini-micro Blind Sniff outside the one conducted by Haunani. That's my SotD, second day in a row.

You're welcome! I love finding cheapies I really enjoy, too. Love it more when I can help someone else find one!

Wearing Eau de Decanting, quite possibly the most frequently worn scent around here! Quartz and Coriandre are winning, knocking most of the others out.

Yes, I got to sniff a few of Wooznib's scents. I was very impressed as well! The Orange is just a delight and perfect for a wedding for sure! I got to try a couple more from him, was impressed by all of them!. These are really well done scents!. I will try to get back to them and test them more thoroughly, but I really did like them all. I mean, honestly, I've been trying numerous samples lately and I've kinda been having a hard time figuring out if there are any I like and found many to be on the weak side and well, kinda boring? Not to sound like a perfume snob at all! Lol. I am not all that and a bag of Oreos but I'd much rather have a full bottle from Garner James, for sure! I wonder if the Magnolia has mint in it? I find something on the top there that is reminiscent of mint? I really like Cathedral as well. Black Antlers, another one that my nose was like..'ooooh! '.. Really original, darnly well made scents! Buy, try these scents! Wow, thank you so very much for sharing these creations, very, very well done!.

Sotd: testing Orange Star by Andy Tauer. Really like the opening of this one!.

Yesterday..it was all about the Orange from Garner James! I could roll that on, over and over!.
I've been testing samples today.

Right now I have a sample of MPG Rose Muskissime on my left arm and am enjoying the ways in which it is similar to L'Ombre Dans L'Eau-- the rose and backcurrant notes. But this one is fruitier and sweeter and has a bit of skank to it. I like it but think it may be too sweet for me.
No need to blush, wooznib.

We started moving before I kissed your new dog on the nose and he licked me back, so I will do it now.

Have you guys come up with the name for his Magnolia perfume yet? I will have to read our SotD threads for the whole two weeks, I know.
