MI. GIT is too close to CW and overhyped.
MI, it just smells better to me.
Close call but I would go with GIT because I feel it has a more year round versatility. And I'm even wearing MI today!!

M-I. Footbridge to heaven!
GIT simply because it smells better than MI IMO.

see the title of my post, I replied there to match the formatting of the original post.

I agree MI is the closest fragrance to perfection there is. Not gonna mention longevity or sillage as thats been addressed. But smell wise it has no imperfections

MI, because it's the best smelling fragrance I've found so far.
GIT because it will last longer on you and you dont have to carry an atomizer everywhere you go
post #13 of 50
They both smell nice to me.. but I think I prefer MI a bit more. It's grown on me a lot.

It's MI for me for that luscious watermelon coupled with the scent of the ocean aroma. It also has a golden creamy opulence about it like they have captured sunshine in a bottle. It is warm and light and has this alluring sexyness to its character. Love the stuff!

^^^ Great description!

MI too!

Love MI, but I choose GIT absolutely, it's simply a classic, versatile, timeless, refined and special fragrance.
GIT - because it is far superior to MI
Much as I enjoy MI, especially in the summer months, I would go with GIT if I had to make that choice. It has superior longevity and can be worn in a wider variety of settings.
GIT because it is more versatile and smells better.

Green Irish Tweed. Because maybe there was actually a perfumer involved (Pierre Bourdon) in the progress of creating.

This is my view. On most days MI is my favorite scent in the world, but there are times I don't feel it is appropriate. GIT works any time. And if it's from a batch with a strong violet undercurrent, GIT just about matches MI in my heart.
GIT because I like it better, but have both.
Git

GIT, Because it is better

Sent from my work computer's old-assed HP computer with dual super hardcore HP screens and a greasey keyboard.
can't go wrong with either
maybe make judgement based on longevity/projection
post #27 of 50
Both are quality scents. However, I would go with Green Irish Tweed, only because I can foresee wearing it more often throughout the year.

Not even close for me....GIT by miles!!! I really wish I could get what others seem to get from MI....but, all I get is a faint melon in the beginning, followed almost immediately by SALT, SALT & oh yeah, more SALT. Plus, it's a "chemical" smelling salt to me, so I just don't understand what makes it so good. Really makes me wonder if my sample spoiled or was from a really bad batch or something. I guess I should try a different sample before I completely write it off, since so many people seem to love it and claim it's one of the best fragrances ever....otherwise, I'm really missing something here...

MI

Everyone and his dog is now wearing GIT.
GIT because I feel I can wear it at ANY time and any place, while I find MI to be more of a scent for summer / warmer weather - and HA-HA we have pretty much NOTHING of that in Norway.

They're bot AMAZING though, and I own and love both.
I would go with GIT between the two (although I prefer Bond's Chez Bond over GIT). But as far as Creed, I know it's not a choice, but give me Aventus over GIT or MI any day.
GIT - my kind of freshnes... ( those who speak about cool water and git like the same pair of shoes are those who don't get difference bet. initial blast and whole whay what u get with GIT )...
MI - is interesting but dull , two times GIT 0 times MI ....in my case.
Why indeed?

Because I'd be a newbie who had never smelled Sélection Verte or Cyprès-Musc, Bois du Portugal or Epicea instead of GIT (and good luck finding SV on eBay--or from a seller here.)

For that matter, though none of the following smell like MI, I doubt I'd ever have smelled other Creeds like Royal English Leather, Acier Aluminium, "Vintage" Tabarome--or even the readily available Himalaya or Erolfa.

(Or even Aventus??)

this is meant as encouragement to explore the not so well advertised scents for men from the house of Creed, not condemnation in buying two of their pop frags which have been advertised like crazy and discussed on threads like these many times before.

May I humbly suggest you look up the reviews on the "rare ones" I've mentioned and, if you don't live in a large metropolitan area, order a tester from somewhere, should any of the reviews sound intriguing

-- And of course, decide for yourself.

Live and let live,
One man's BdP is another man's Brut, etc.

Cheers,

Mario

GIT is more versatile and smells better
Yes, I agree. GIT is a lot more versatile and can be worn all year.
GIT anytime/everytime.
Green Irish Tweed. Smells better and is more versatile than Millesime Imperial (to me). Also, it actually lasts more than a few hours.
GIT, I own and enjoy both immensely. But GIT is a fragrance for all seasons, and trumps Mi in the longevity department. So if you have to choose, go GIT.
Tough. IMO MI has more of a wow factor and should get more complements. GIT is more masculine imo.
I choose GIT, MI has more WOW factor, but you need to worry about 'Creed Notorious Batch Variation' and its longvity is tragic compare to GIT.
Green Irish Tweed - a classic, smells like confidence, more versatile, any season, takes you from the gym to the office to a night out, better for dress up occasions.
MI. Both smell good, but MI is quite magical in its composition. Just the right balance of melon and salt, wears nice and transparently, and very refreshing in the summer. The drydown of GIT is great too, and it is a more versatile scent, but I just don't feel the need to own a whole bottle.
I'd pick MI because it has a sunny day optimism about it. But, really, you can't go wrong either way. If you truly can't decide (and, hey, we all know that feeling) try wearing a spray of MI on one arm and GIT on the other. Then, all you have to do is follow your nose. It'll know.
GIT because of its superior versatility.
MI because its superior to GIT.
For me, the answer is MI hands-down. Couldn't use GIT all the time, especially in the summer. MI has a feel-good vibe to it and the opening fruit (at least in my batch) is out of this world.

I understand though that the two dry-down to a similar sandalwood-ambergris base, so I can see why this comparison is being made.
A lot of good posts in this thread.

Both of these smell great and are pleasant to others around you.

GIT is more versatile and can be worn anytime of the year to Work, Church, Dinner, or while driving an M1 Abrams tank. GIT also has much better longevity.

MI smells amazing, but is more casual and feminine smelling to me. MI also seems to project like crazy for about an hour and then falls off the cliff. You will need to carry a small atomizer to reapply throughout the day. MI is awesome in spring or summer.
GIT is better. MI is very nice as well.
GIT. Absolutely.
MI gets more use in my house, because my wife wears it as well. I really like GIT but wish it projected more and lasted longer for the price.
