Hey guys, I'm a college student and so as you can guess I dont have the best budget, heres what I have so far to choose from help me pick open? :P

L'Homme Libre Yves Saint Laurent for men
Joop! Homme Joop! for men
(suggets your own)

I need a fresh smelling scent that invites people over, leaves a trail and projects.

I'm new any help would be appreciated

I'm not a fun of the two you mention, and they don't seem to me very summery (especially Joop). I don't know where you live, but the Aramis range, here in the US, has a great quality price ratio. The 100ml I believe cost about $50. For the summer, there's Tuscany per uomo (herbal green), or, if you like marine, New West.

was wondering what everyone thought of:

Cool Water Davidoff for men

Try:

Aqua Fahrenheit by Christian Dior - This is a considerably toned down version of the original, masterpiece Fahrenheit. No negative connotation is implied or should be taken; rather, this is a distinctive composition, somewhat bright and fresh, with ties to the original.
Initially, one is treated to a blast of sparkling grapefruit, with its sour greenness, tempered by a hint of sweetness from the mandarin. This invigorating, citrus melange is drawn to the heart by a nascent mint. Here, in the heart, the cool spearmint comes into its own with its sweet, green facets, and commingles with violet leaf, with its intense freshness and a hint of cucumber. Basil infuses the refreshing blend with a lively dusting of its lemon-like, savory herb. A very faint undercurrent of petro/gasoline can be sensed. Transitioning to the base, a rather ordinary, woods accord presents, and interplays with a light, almost airy, Haitian vetiver as well as a subtle leather. A placid drydown ensues. This high-quality composition is bright and fresh, and should prove to be very versatile. Having average projection and longevity, this scent will, indeed, shine in the spring, summer and fall.

I've worn joop in the summer and its really risky because its so over powering, one time I sprayed my self to little and then I added a full spray and I had to take a shower so I wouldn't feel like an asshole who put way to much cologne on. That story aside if you don't want to smell like everyone else with aqua d gio( not a bad choice girls love it but a lot of people wear it (perry ellis red smells almost the same but with cinnamon also worth looking at) try the hugo line. The Hugo line is very affordable and draws me many compliments. Versache also has some Great scents with what your looking for a relatively good price. take a girl with you sampling and you can buy it off amazon or online for real cheap

Also for budget shopping try the discounters (Ross, Marshalls,TJMaxx) .Many times I have bought a frag there for $20-40 that I would have had to pay two to four times as much elsewhere. Giftsets can be a bargain too.The retailers want them out of the malls after the holidays and so the discounters can sell them for cheap!
Try stuff on ( one scent per spot)at retailers and read BN and Fragrantica for reviews. Then go buy it cheaper if possible.

Hanae Mori is very nice and can be found inexpensively on Ebay.

Live Jazz and Ed Hardys Love & Luck are good affordable Summer scents.

+1 on New West For Him. Another option could be Horizon by Guy Laroche. You might also want to consider some of the Comme Des Garcons Colognes (expecially Vettiveru and Anbar) which sell for incredibly cheap considering the amount you get...

And since the OP mentioned Cool Water, I saw it at TJ Maxx not three days ago. Didn't pay attention to the price but I'm sure it was $40 or less.

Oh and my vote is Cartier Roadster. The more I wear it the more I like it.

I would go for Versace Pour Homme. It's a great summer aquatic scent and it's a definite attention grabber.

I agree, if you like YSL Libre, you will LOVE Versace Pour Homme. It lasts all day, and all evening.

No Joop!Homme for summer! It will kill you!
Try Joop Splash, 212 Splash or On Ice, Bvlgari Aqva, Acqua di Gio, L'Eau D'Issey.

Skip the Joop! as everyone has suggested.

If you're on a budget: Dunhill Desire (Red) -a tad spicy, but fresh- or Versace - Fraiche -very aquatic and fresh-
If you can splurge a bit: Pure Malt -careful with this one, not too many sprays- or Allure Homme -not a fan of sport, I'm talking about the original-
