Looks like I'm the early bird again!
Where are the rest of you?

Lovely, hot day forcast here (at last) and I will
wear Eau Sauvage. It doesn't last long so frequent
applications will be necessary.

Still reeling from Daniel Barenboim's amazing rendition of
Beethoven's 3rd Symphony (Eroica) at the Proms last night.
Watched on T.V. but wish I had been there in person.

Morning kewart early birds catch the worms n all that.

Sotd so far is the sweet vanilla dry down of EL Amber Ylang Ylang and very pretty but morning after the night before it is. I feel I should have a headache, raging thirst, rodent mouth and eyes like Alice Cooper. Of course I haven't but the dry down has that "had a good night partying hard" feeling to it. 18hrs longevity is pretty darn good for a cosmetic house scent. I really rate Estée Lauder as a fragrance house.

There I said it

Sampling after I've done my time at the gym

Good Morning,

I'm here, Kewart !
Yes, Summer is apparently on its way. Hurrah ! (Sorry Jon).
Less Hurrah-worthy is the fact that I currently have no water. I can hear pneumatic drills etc in the road, so I guess somebody's working to fix it. I only hope it is soon...

Anyway, it is Grandpa G's 90th Birthday today, so I'll be quaffing champagne and gobbling cake in No.19.

Have a lovely Sunday, folks.
Best to all.

Isn't that an oxymoron ?

Still relatively cool and pleasant here for the moment so getting necessary tasks done in the garden before the accursed heat descends. Decided on something with an outdoor vibe - Annick Goutal Folavril.

The afternoon and evening will be spent relaxing, surrounded by cooling bevarages

G, hope your supply returns soon, though I'll take champagne over H2O any time. Happy Birthday to Grandpa G

Enjoy your Sunday !

Gandhajala, a very happy birthday to your grandfather! Ninety years old, how wonderful!

SOTD is Hermes Eau des Merveilles, have a lovely Sunday, all!

Happy 90th to Grandpa G! What an occasion! Hope your water is fixed soon, G.

The always good-smelling easyfish is smelling especially fine today!

Sampling Lumiere Noire pour Femme this morning. Think it likes me, keeps blooming and changing. Glad I finally got around to trying this.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa G! Hope you have a wonderful celebration together!

Still sampling today. I'm scent twins with PerfumedLady this morning, wearing Lumiere Noire pour Femme. It's a lovely rose and patchouli combination, very dark and sultry. Notes include cumin, pimiento, rose, narcissus and patchouli.

Have a great day!

OK, where did my post go? 2nd try: Avon Cotillion, easy like a Sunday morning after 3 nights of the best sleep—no A/C, not even the ceiling fan, windows opened. Belle journée!
Kiliwia! I think this is the first time we've been twins, though we share so many scents! How funny that we twinned in samples!

Lumiere Noire is very sultry, my thoughts, too. Not really a Sunday morning type of scent! But I am loving it!

I am back, folks and slowly getting back to my BN routine. Not much time to talk today, but wanted to congratulate Grandpa G as well and wish him many more healthy and happy years to come. Happy celebrations G family!
I am in Sous le Vent, the fragrance I missed most on my holiday, but I fared pretty well by eliminating a 2008 Jicky EdP refill and emptying a Lord Ashley Cooper decant (a bigger one - very Shalimar-like) while away. Ah yes, ladies and I also went through half a wee roller bottle of Elixir de Lumiere Noire Femme. I am glad it gets some love from you two! I preferred it more during the day though as I opted for the heavier and raunchier Jicky at night.
Best to all!

Welcome back larimar! I have recruited you to the Weil passaround! Happy birthday to Grandpa G!

Cake, champagne, and N 19? Sounds like my kind of party. Very Happy Birthday to your Grandpa!

Kiliwia - what gorgeous roses...

Jujy - so glad you got some good sleep. It is what preserves our beauty...

Today in Eau Parfumee au The Vert by Bvlgari. Never wore Bvlgari or ever had one. Not big fan of Jean-Claude Ellena who is too classy and understated for me, I prefer his daughter's creations. But it definitely grows on me, great summer scent. Thank you PerfumedLady! Later this afternoon, if all goes well, will be participating in a truly American experience.

Have a most wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Using up the remaining of my Jo Malone Vanilla and Anise samples. Those went soooo fast..I need to spritz like 7/8 squirts or so to really feel like I am wearing this scent. Hubs likes it too, so no complaints there. It's really one of my faves right now. I would loooooove to wear this in the fall or winter. Yum.. Must purchase more samples. Oh yeah. Thank you Jo Mo for making a yum yum scent.

SotE - Canali Summer Night.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend !.

Welcome back, Larimar, we missed you!!! Please tell us about your vacation when you get a chance.

My son asked me today if I had any perfume I didn't want anymore. His girlfriends mother was wondering if I had any I'd like to get rid of. I fixed her up with lots of samples and 4 miniatures that I have doubles of, for now. We've met a few times, but I didn't know she liked perfume, I'm thrilled that she does!! Btw, I gave her the good stuff, a variety Chanels, Guerlains and etc. I'm hoping to get her as hooked as I am. Is that mean, lol?

Wearing Versace Vanitas for the afternoon.

SOTA: off to a jazz concert in a historic semetary (Riverside in CLE). Chypre de Coty seems right, it has a frozen in time quality. Lively jazz meeting the departed and the weather is "gwajus"!!!

Good Evening All,

Thank you SO very much for your lovely, thoughtful messages today - I'm delighted to say my grandfather had a wonderful 90th birthday party. Easyfish - what a great video !

Larimar
- Welcome Back ! You've been sorely missed around these parts. I hope you had a fantastic holiday and feel suitably relaxed and refreshed.

Enjoy your concert jujy54, and the gwajus weather

SotE is the new Habanita EdP (from a sample).

Best to all, you wonderful people.

Good evening fragrant friends. Disappointingly I opened Mr Alis present to me and I think it may be spoilt. The juice is almost purple, is this normal for EL Amber Ylang Ylang? The tester bottle wasn't that dark. This juice is weak and slightly sourish rather than the warm Play-Doh vanilla-amber Mr Ali fell for yesterday.

Wearing it today as he took me out for Sunday dinner post gym. We're both disappointed

Your posts make me smile today. I missed everyone too -- once again, we know about each other's families, vacations, pets, illnesses, weathers, etc. I think it is the best part of each day!

K. -- it ups your status to fragrance ambassador, in my eyes. How kind of you!

L., welcome back.

Well, I am back to my charming cranky self. Was upset last night at the girls waiting tables at our restaurant -- they do not care about business in general or customers returning back, all they are there for is a quick buck doing half-a** job. What goes with fried fish? Tartar sauce, here. Did they offer it? No, too much trouble to go back in the kitchen and fill up a small bowl. Chicken on a bone is eaten with hands, as a rule. Did someone think that people might need more than one napkin? Arghhhh...... I know, I am not getting any younger, and it shows in my attitude, primarily.

In carnations today -- Crescendo de Lanvin.

Many happy years to Grandpa G! MyDad celebrated his 90th in April. I think the whole town was there. Had a great time as usual in my hometown.

I'm into Bourbon French's Allesandra today. Lush and warm and sexy.

Wolfie, the extra touches are the mark of a perfectionist. You say "cranky" - I prefer "a class act"

JR, I love you too! And the way you smell, BTW. It is one of many fragrances that does not work right on this skin, regretfully.

A lovely big blast of Chypre Rouge before bed

The most beautiful fir, pine, sweet raspberry and spicy immortelle. It's absolutely divine and so comforting.

I spent the afternoon playing Monopoly with my mother and stepfather, which is the most boring game in the world (to me -- I always hated it), but it was a hoot with my stepfather who has dementia, and I'm not being unkind because he had fun, too. We were going to take him shopping but the skies opened up and it poured buckets all afternoon. The tv signal was out (fine with me. Talk about cranky! I hate TV ). So we had an old-fashioned afternoon playing a game. He kept getting mixed up about whether he was playing backgammon or shooting craps.

SotE is vintage First edp, the sexy civety one.

Oh Lilybelle !

Today has been so damned hot. It's about 106 degrees now. I'm having a rest in bed right now after cooking all day long . Shepherd's pie , chilli too . Enough to freeze for the family .

Thanks for the loved PMs today everyone . I'll reply tonight when all has settled down and I can put some sanity back into my head .

This morning I wore Diorissimo EDT and now I'm in Coco Mademoiselle .

Came to Mt. Pleasant to spend the weekend with my temporarily relocated Son and two ADORABLE grandbabies - the Nanny quit (by TEXT) and I have to stay on with only the few frag samples tossed into my always-oacked-and-ready-to-go cosmetic bag.Dommage.

But not so bad. Spent the day in something spicy and rosy with a powdery base and quite potent that I don't know the name of. Pretty roll-on - pale yellow label with pink/red florals.

??????

28' high here wore M. Micallef Vanille Fleur. I never thought I would love it...one of those samples that will be FBW. I thought the Vanille Cuir would be my a need to but the fragrance is too dry and masculine IMO. The Vanille Marine is just gorgeous and that I would have totally overlooked if not for the sample. Thank you luckyscent for the samples but your fragrance descriptions are missing the mark!
You all smell lovely in here...I know I can always count on BN for a good, long virtual hug.

Taolady - ARGH! Who quits by TEXT? You know, I find it pretty amazing what ridiculous things people will do (or stoop to), via text/email/etc. "Rude" doesn't even cover it. At least there's a silver lining here (a BIG one!) - I bet that it is a very nice thing for your son and the grandbabies to have you around, even if unplanned.

SOTD: Carnal Flower (the body butter applied lightly after shower after enthusiastic housecleaning)

It's all but worn off, so I think I'll spritz something nice and rosy for the evening...

Hope you are all looking forward to the week! Myself, I'm taking it easy this week. Been way too stressful lately....
