Hello everyone!
We're back from the Far East, and I don't think I've
ever been happier to be home! We had a fantastic time eating, shopping and touring our way through Hong Kong, Kyoto and Tokyo but I need to be in the company of my kitties for a while, sleep in my own bed, and hear the sounds of the French Quarter again. I don't like to spend lots of time in shops when I'm traveling (although you're sort of
forced to shop in Hong Kong, lol!) so I must admit that I didn't go out of my way to smell anything new and exciting while I was away, but I just happened to wander into Chanel on day one, so I decided to make
Bel Respiro my daytime fragrance of the trip, and it was perfect in every way. I also discovered
Shalimar Parfum Initial in a duty-free, and I love it! I can't believe it - I love a Shalimar! I wore it to mark a few special occasions, including the evening I was honored to cook gumbo and crawfish étouffée (!!) for the enormous extended family of one of Tony's clients while in Hong Kong (it was intimidating, but my efforts were very well-received!)
People in both China and Japan do, btw, wear fragrance. I smelled perfume on others and in the air many times, especially "fresh" aquatics from groups of young men, as well as the unmistakable sillage of Chanel No5 wafting from an ancient lady in the Jade Market. Oh, and sweet scents on girls - nothing offensive, but nothing I recognized. I seem to be rambling now but I can't seem to do anything to stop it ...I'm very tired, lol! We arrived home sometime yesterday and I'm not even sure what day it is, but I thought I'd check out what's been going on around here. I see
gandhajala's been to Paris, and had a swell time, naturally - what fun! Okay, now I need to eat, but the fridge is empty so I'll probably have to get dressed and go out. Did I mention we ate? Hong Kong boasts some the best restaurants in the world, and I needn't mention the sushi in Japan, but I still managed to lose 11 pounds, and that's not such a great thing ...time for a few beignets!

I'm in
Shalimar Parfum Initial again ...or maybe still. I suppose I should shower at some point too, lol! Does anyone know if Parfum Initial has any products for the bath to go along with it? I'd love a big tub of body cream of it, and powder would also be wonderful.
It's good to be home and amongst you divine smelling people again - y'all have a fantastic day!
