Hey Kalli, what's up? GIT and Cool water have similar vibes. Both are fresh, masculine, and sporty; but GIT is greener, smoother, and its quality is alot better than CW. CW has an alcohol-y, harsh opening, but I understand the GIT comparison.

As for Aspen, I honestly forgot what it's like. It's been a long time since I sprayed that one.

A gift for a lady friend of mine. I love the smell of this stuff, hopefully she does too! At the very least, she's sure to enjoy the very chic bottle.

I finally splurged on a bottle of Secret Garden

It's a gorgeously indolic jasmine and rose, with a beautiful blue lotus note which is reminicent of gardenia. A lovely fruity raspberry and real vintage civet and castoreum with aged patchouli in the base... yes, it's as gorgeous as it sounds, and 100% natural. So glad to finally own this, can't wait for it to arrive!

+1 on your assessment re. the bottles! i have dark aoud and i have felt the same. could it be so that the overall costs are kept low? that's what i'm thinking. i can buy brand new montale (various ones) for around £70 something on ebay.

Nice purchases alfarom!

Can you believe it I have not smelt Oud Cuir d'Arabie Is it similar to anything I have or have smelt? I heard it's similar to Oud 27 (which I have and love but sillage/longevity is crap). A blind buy seems to be in order...what say you?!

What does the Cuioi smell like?

Scent, Aoud Cuir D'Arabie should be an acquired taste for you. It's a very classic rosey-oudy concoction with a STRONG animalic leather note on top that slowly merges with the base during the fragrance's evolution. Less raunchy than Oud27 and in the oud universe, I would classify it as more "classically oriental". That being said, I still find it one of the best iteration of the oud-leather combo of the western market. Up there with Leather Oud IMO (yet nowhere similar).

Cuoio is just gorgeous. I was just saying to Hedonist that I don't know why i waited so long to get a full bottle of this stuff. Haute Perfumerie...

I tested this in duty free shops and Guerlain boutiques in Paris a few times, but couldn't get a proper impression. I usually can't in those environments. Finally, I blurry-vision bought this to see for myself:

Also got a backup bottle of Ambre Sultan and decants of L'Air du D. M. and Cologne du Parfumeur in my first trade after starting my swap thread!

Haha! I tried it - and bought it the next day
It's very complicated - always ozonic and densley aquatic - at times I find it overloaded with gardenia (which is great) and at other times, I find it to be a obscure fig.... very strange - but very good. I think you should get it

That seems to be the going rate, unfortunately. Ah, well, considering its less than many 50ml niche bottles, it's still a good deal.
