what are some fruity/sweeter scents?

Hey guys what are some good sweetish/fruityish scents like Diesel: Fuel For Life?

I heard Be Delicious by DKNY is a good one as well as Black XS. I read somewhere that Aventus is sweet, and I really want to try Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone. Aventus is extremely expensive though. I don't want too sweet, though. I tried JOOP and that was crazy sweet lol

I'm going to make a list to sample at my local Perfumania/Department stores/Sephora. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

WELCOME !!

Aventus is f&*%ng awesome, opens with pineapple and it's got apples too! yes you should try it. Just beware of all the batch problems (there's plenty of info here in basenotes) because some will give you more or less from that fruity opening. You can get a good decant from Aventus here or on E-bay and they usually tell you the batch number, or you can ask.

If you like Creeds, try Milessime Imperial, it has a great melon note, and is just great.

Yes Pomegranate Noir is very good, but not to sweet under my nose, it is very classy and modern, I layer it with some patchouli oil and it came out great.

Try Timbuktu from L'Artisan its got a very nice slightly sweet green mango and flowers too! Also Dzongkha, from the same is kinda more serious and has an awesome lychee note with gorgeous incense.

In the same niche category Jubilation XXV from Amouage is dry fruits and smells like heaven.

In the DARE-FEMININE-POWERBOMB category I love Poison from Christian Dior.

Enjoy and sniff responsibly...lol

Be Delicious is not good, if you're talking about the male version.

If you want the king of fruity, try Pulp by Byredo.

Style in Play by Lacoste has a nice apple note...wears pretty "fresh," but I wouldn't call it terribly sweet.

Pulp - Byredo

Bond no. 9 Bleecker St. has a strange sort of Grassy Grape/current thing going on, but test it first b/c after an hour it got really annoying for me... Many people like it though so who knows
post #7 of 40
Caron's Troisieme Homme might fit the bill--sweet and floral/fruity but still in the masculine camp.

+2 on Pulp - one of the few half decent compositions in the Byredo line up.

I'll also add Aqua Allegoria Pampelune by Guerlain - bitter grapefruit and juicy blackcurrant mmm

Would like to add Boss Bottled- a fruity bomb of apple and pineapple notes.

Black XS Le'Exces

I sampled Paco Rabanne Black XS today and it has a strong strawberry note in it on top of the praline. Not for daytime summer wear though imo.
If you're more into citrus, try Laura Biagiotti ROMA Uomo which has strong grapefruit/orange with LOADS of vanilla.
If you're not into vanilla sweetness you could imo just try any sporty/aqua fruity aquatic. For example Mexx Men (inexpensive) has strong fruity notes. I tend to like Dior Homme Sport which is dominated by lemon/ginger notes. Finally I want to say that Nautica Voyage has a strong apple note but on my skin it fades quickly opening up for the lotus.

Good luck and welcome!

Tous in Heaven for him.

Top: Paprika, pineapple, and mandarin orange
Mid: Cardamom, violet leaf, and star fruit
Base: Patchouli and oakmoss.

Along the same lines as Black XS, and the new Black XS L'Excess, but much better and half the price.

I'm really surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet: Hanae Mori HM

Great combination of sweet, fruity, fresh, and woody.

Try:

Premier Figuier Extreme by L'Artisan Parfumeur - Upon application, one is pleasantly treated to the sweetish greenness of fig leaves coupled with the coconutty floral of gorse flowers. This fascinating duet percolates a bit before segueing to the waiting middle. Here, in the aborning heart, a wondrous blend of galbanum, with its sour green and somewhat stemmy facets, ivy, with its pert and slightly savory character, almond milk, with its gloppy and nutty features, as well as sandalwood, with its creamy and spicy trait, gives rise to an illusion of budding figs, abounding with milky sap. Transitioning to the enhancing base, the swollen delectability of tree-ripened figs comes to fruition. A redolent, dried fruit accord, with elements of plums, apricots and peaches, commingles with the strong, camphor smell of stone pine. A hint of creamy, coconut milk flutters about to seal the illusion. A delightsome drydown ensues. This wonderful, all-season scent has good longevity, and, after an hour of radiating projection, settles to a skin scent. A truly awesome composition, it leans to the masculine side.

Pretty Fruity by Montale

Creed Millesime Imperial has a salty sweet melon, an exceptional fragrance. Also I am a big fan of Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine, with a very realistic fresh sweet orange followed by soft floral, amber and tonka drydown.

Sweet, but not too sweet...

Polo Black
Chanel Allure Edition Blanche
Chanel Allure Pour Homme Sport
Creed Virgin Island Water
Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien

I would categorize Black XS as good, but in the "too sweet" category (as well as almost all the other Paco Rabanne fragrances)

I can recommend L `Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme eau extreme. It`s very citrusy at the beginning and after that phase commes dark chocolate and patchouli, but it isn`t too sweet, which give it some classines compared to other Gourmands. You will smell like a luxury praline with lemon fill . Maybe you like it or not, but I think it`s worth to tyring out!

When you go to perfumania ask to smell a fragrance called "Shades". You can't find anything about it and seems no ones ever heard of it but it's a masculine fruity smell that leaves a long trail if thats what you're into.

Since you're already keen to sample some Jo Malone, also try Grapefruit and Lime, Basil & Mandarin. If you enjoy the latter and want something that smells like a carbon copy but lasts longer, give Nouveau Bowery by Bond No. 9 a sampling.

Wow wasn't expecting so much help, thank you all to have posted!

I only managed to sample a few yesterday, but I'm going to the mall today and will probably make my decision.

My current favorites right now are YSL La Nuit and Prada. Leaning more towards La Nuit right now, it's absolutely amazing. I still need to sample Black XS, 1 Million, Pomegranate Noir, Body Kourous(WHICH I COULDNT FIND D: ), and Pulp. Some of the other suggestions were absolutely nowhere to be found lol. Maybe some of my department stores and sephora at the mall with have them. Honorable mentions were Givenchy Pi, the red Lacoste cologne, and Boss bottled. I actually really enjoyed Boss bottled, but La Nuit is still reigning supreme right now. Would one say Body Kouros is better than La Nuit?

It looks like you have sampled designers and not niche. Pomegranate Noir and Pulp are niche...and pulp can be super expensive. Pulp is great...I really dig it! Super fruity with the right amount of sweetness...and I agree that Pom Noir isn't very sweet...it's a good and fruity, just not so sweet.

While on the niche line-Bond no 9 Coney Island is fruity and quite sweet...I love it. As was mentioned before, Jo Malone Mandarine Lime Basil is good, I just wouldn't classify it as very sweet, and I do see a resemblance between it and Nouveau Bowery-but Nouveau Bowery lasts much longer and is stronger.

1 million should be up your alley
