As far as the samples that you received, I've got a few thoughts.
New Haarlem-Fantastic frag, one of my top fragrances. There are a lot of comparisons with this and the much cheaper Rochas Man. To me they have a similar vibe, but New Haarlem is far superior!! It is blended amazingly and lasts forever. I'm not an expert when it comes to fragrances, but I'm getting more experienced every day. When I first tried New Haarlem I couldn't detect much coffee, only a maple sort of vibe. As my nose has become more accustomed to detecting different notes I can definitely smell the coffee and it's great in this one. I love the maple syrup vibe that it has and that's what drew me too it. It's warm and sweet but not overly sweet to the point of becoming cloying. It is an excellent fragrance that I would recommend to anyone.
Riverside Drive-Is definitely a mossy scent. It's a good fragrance and a lot of people here on Basenotes really like it. I appreciate it for what it is, but it's not for me. It gets quite heavy fast and becomes quite cloying to me, but nonetheless I think it's a great frag for what it is in intended.
Coney Island-Man do I love this stuff. It's a very unique fragrance...I haven't smelled anything quite like it. I love the combination of sweet and salty that is has. It's a fickle fragrance in that it can change depending on the person's skin chemistry...I know that is the case in every fragrance, I just mean that it seems to have a polarizing effect on people. On me it stays sweet, on my wife it turns sour. She loves it on me, and hates it on herself, which makes her a little sad because she likes it so much on me.
Hamptons-Bond no 9 doesn't get a lot of love here on Basenotes, but when it does get some love, people tend to mention the Hamptons. I'm not a fan of the Hamptons, I feel like it's too generic and bland. I have tried it many many times, but it does nothing for me, but I'm glad that it has some fans out there.
Wall Street- I love the opening but I'm not a big fan of the dry down. The cucumber is too sharp for my liking and it becomes cloying in a major way to me. If the cucumber were tamed down a bit, I think that I'd really like this one.
Washington Square-I really want to love this one because I think the honey note is great, but it becomes powdery on me and I hate powder, I just can't tolerate powder in any way. I don't think it turns powdery on everyone, but on me, it does, and it's a shame because I really like it until its turning point.
Brooklyn-I love the uniqueness of this scent. It's definitely different from the masses. The only problem is that I have to be in the mood for it. Some days I love it and want a full bottle, other days I can't take it and have to step away from it. I think it's a great scent, when I'm in the mood for it.
Cooper Square-I thought I liked it at first, but then I hated it. It turns very bitter on me. I have tried to get past that, but I can't.
Bleeker Street-I love this one. It's fantastic. It's something that I love to smell all day long, and it lasts all day long on my skin. It's unique and the blueberry note is awesome. I love the blueberry grassy vibe that it has. I will be getting a full bottle of this soon.
Chez Bond-It's a great frag, but I get bored of it after a little while. It think it's blended very well, and even though many compare it to Green Irish Tweed, and Cool Water, I think it has a much more modern vibe to it and I feel like it is smoother all around. Great frag, but not full bottle worthy for me.
I haven't tried Harrods for Him
Overall I really like Bond no 9...even though many people on Basenotes don't...I think they have great modern fragrances. Just like with any house they have some boring to pretty bad ones, but overall I like a lot of their fragrances. I own a full bottle of New Haarlem, Coney Island, and Little Italy...and I hope to have Bleeker Street in my collection soon. Of the whole line that I have tried and that you haven't mentioned I would recommend giving
Little Italy,
I Love New York for All,
Bond no 9 Perfume,
Eau de New York, and
Central Park a try.
