Has anyone tried LOST ABBEY ales?

I heard about this Christmas ale, and I'd like to hear if any Basenoters have tried it.

"Gift of the Magi" by Lost Abbey Brewery, San Diego

Gold in color and bittered with the bark of Frankincense, there is also the smallest amount of Myrrh which is an herb that has roots in ancient winemaking as well.

I probably have but with so many to choose from I can't say it "jumped out" at me, making it memorable.

I just got back from a bottle shop and downed a Bear Rep. IPA and next here at home I'm a'gonna have me a Stone IPA.

You can't go wrong with SD micro brews! SD is right at the top if not thee best small batch brewer town in the good ol' Us of A.

I didn't know that San Diego was such an important centre for microbreweries... but I do now!

With the risk of bumping this thread, thanks for sharing and for bringing it up, Ody.

Now, while I haven't tried this beer yet, I am thankful for letting me know.
I have seen lately this trend of vintage style/traditional beer brewery rising up and while I am far more a fan of fine wines and spirits, I do occasionally enjoy a good Belgian, Irish, German beer crafted along these lines.
But this, especially with the frankincense notes, takes experiences to a wholly new level.

Thanks for the comment, ken. One day I'll get some, and post a review of it. It might be pretty nice stuff. I'm a huge fan of frankincense.
