As Fall approaches....... A new work scent with warm qualities.

I find myself wanting a good work scent for fall and winter. I got serious about fragrance last Spring so my wardrobe leans spring/ summer right now. I have purchased alot of my desired powerhouse scentsfor winter already such as Tuscan Leather, TV, a few from Thierry Mugler. I am however looking for something else for the office. Based upon what I own already what might you recommend. I thought perhaps Derby as I work in a fairly formal office, slacks and button ups etc., but also very interested in new Houses like Tauer, Le Labo, etc.

I see your wardrobe had TdH parfum. I wear TdH EDT at work all year. I crave its woody qualities that stand out in the Fall and can wear it for its orange/citrus and wood for summers.

Three Suggestions:

Heritage

Bel Ami

Equipage

I love Hugo Boss Bottled for fall office wear. It's warm, slightly spicy yet sweet with great wood undertones. Since it's rather inexpensive I keep this in my lineup for daily work wear.

Antidote by Viktor & Rolf is a good one.

Fall in SF is likely like summer elsewhere, but thinking about a regular fall...

Derby is certainly a great choice. Chanel Egoiste (sandalwoody) and Antaeus (spicy) would be others (note: the regular Egoiste, not the platinum). In niche, Tauer l'air du desert marocain would certainly fit the season and the semi-desert location. Of my favorite Le labos, Oud and Patchouli are probably warmer than you're looking for, and Iris is more summery. Among other niche, ELdO Je suis un homme is in the general style of Derby, and Tom of Finland is a smooth saffrony leather. In l'Artisan Parfumeur, Timbutku's radiant incense and Safran Troublant creamy saffron.

I thought about BdP actually, and also perhaps Tabarome Milliseme, got a sample of Tom Ford Extreme as well, need to try it out.

This is a good choice, leather with a slight minty edge. Not stuffy, not boring.

Get Derby, you won't regret it.

Egoiste is my favourite Autumn scent, with it's warm cinnamon and sandalwood. I also like Eau des Beaux in the Autumn and Winter.

I've only worn it a few times, having gotten it in the summer and it being too hot. But Donna Karan's Cashmere is beautiful, very warm and cozy while staying sophisticated and un-offensive to others, sort of sweet, can be a little gourmand, but it's by no means foodie. My grandma [the one I actually usually like] wears it on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve around us. Overall warm, sophisticated, cozy and a little sweet.

Totally agree with Hednic. Warm, unequivocally masculine scent: Creed's Bois du Portugal.

Bois du Portugal or Derby would be great choices.

Michael Kors, Zhir Ikon are a few good and inexpensive ones to try.

Bois du Portugal by Creed = Clean, spicy with power and authority.

1903 by J. Peterman = Green freshness with leather and tobacco.

Five O'Clock au Gingembre by Serge Lutens = Warm ginger and autumn leaves with hints of gourmand.

I would also add Creed Royal Oud to the list.

Certainly your initial thought of Derby would be an excellent choice, IMO. Other options that you may want to consider for a more formal office atmosphere are Amouage Dia Man and Tiffany for Men.

This and BdP were the two standouts from the remaining Creed's I've tried.

I keep coming back to it in my mind, I only tested it briefly at the Guerlain boutique in Vegas but it made a seriously lasting impression!
