Olympic platform diving; this takes my breath away

To me, there is nothing more astonishing at the Olympics than watching the divers take a handstand on the 30 m platform. Toes on the platform, heels over the water, the diver bends over to position hands then slowly unfolds like a jackknife, legs in a V before arriving at a perfectly held vertical pose. This is done seamlessly with precision and beauty. Then, with a flick of the legs the dive begins and ends in a fraction of the time that this slow motion feat of balance took. Truly awe-ispiring.

Hedonist, I love that one!

jujy54 - the diving, I know. It's so beyond anything I could do, and yet I've had daydreams where of course, I was one of the best! (fat chance! ) The divers are wonderful to watch, incredible grace and ability.

IngaMi, you dived? Wow.

Myself, I used to have "bounding" dreams, where I took these low leaping strides of about 2 or 3 m. Then I saw the triple jump event. It reminded me of those dreams.

I watched the Olympic diving, too, and was in awe of those handstands they do before kicking off into the water. I could never do that! Terrifying!
