Is it possible to remove the plastic cover from Animale Animale?

So I just ordered a bottle of Animale Animale today. Had a chance to sniff the stuff, and although it's definitely not on par with A*men, it is a great fragrance for the price. The only problem is the bottle is one of the most gaudy, atrocious designs I have ever seen. What in the hell were they thinking? It just screams "cheap" and "tacky" like nothing else (the bottle, not the frag). So, I was wondering. Is it possible to separate that horrible fake marble plastic front panel from the rest of the bottle and just throw it away? Then I can toss the cap too and just have a nondescript glass bottle of brown juice.

Anyone done this? Anyone who has a bottle think it's possible without damaging the glass? There is no way it's going on my shelf with my other frags unless something can be done about that bottle.

EDIT: The title of the post should say "remove" not "move". It was a typo.

Yes, should be very easy to remove.

Good call. I don't know why I didn't think of that right away. Duh! Thanks.

If it doesn't come off easily. This is what I will do.

What's wrong with the cover?
I have both the Animale and Animale Animale bottles and think they are excellent and distinctive.
They can also easily be stood upside down to make sure there is never any issue with the scent (i.e. using the technique Michael Edwards advises).

Glad you liked the scent - I wore it the other day, definitely more masculine than A*men.

Renato

I guess the cover doesn't bother me as much as it does others.

I think it might just be the ugliest, tackiest looking bottle I've ever seen. (Big ugly typface, cheap plastic imitation of marble, cheezy lightning-bolt/crack/thing, color scheme that reminds me of vomit). Maybe it's that I used to work in graphic design, but for some reason it makes me cringe. It's certainly distinctive, but to me it shows no taste at all. It's the cologne bottle equivalent of amateur 90s webdesign. Just awful! I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I find noting tacky about the Animale bottles ...if you want tacky check out that upcoming Joop Hoome Wild bottle...a smiling skull with sun glasses...now that's tacky

I agree with Joop Homme Wild. I think the difference is that JHW is intended to look kind of juvenile. They know who their audience is, and it isn't me, so I'm okay with that. Animale Animale is bad becasue it tries to look classy, but ends up looking like something a guy who lives in a trailer park would wear.

I'm almost sure you'll spoil the bottle. Decant it instead.

It should be very easy to get off. Pull it from the bottom and slip it over the ridge on the bottom. Then pull it up until it cracks off. You should be able to get the top plastic off by cracking it backwards behind where the lightning bolt ends at the atomizer. Not really sure if im explaining it correctly, but you will be able to get it off, just not gently.

What do you mean by "spoil the bottle"? How?

Just took mine apart. Pry off the black square under the spritzer and the plastic front easily slips off. Obviously i have nothing to do today.

It snaps right back together, although I've already lost the little square plastic piece somewhere in the couch.....
