How is Chez Bond?

I'm a big fan of Cool Water and I love Green Irish Tweed. I heard Chez Bond was similar to the two, at least in opening. I hear the drydown is a bit different, but overall, what is your opinion of it?

UPDATE:

I tried Chez Bond. And here are my overall thoughts.

GIT is better than Chez Bond. No contest.

As for Chez Bond vs. Cool Water, at the opening Chez Bond is much better than CW. But an hour later in the drydown, CW gets better and I'd say both of them are evenly matched, with CW being a bit more sharper and CB being a bit more smoother.

At $200 for 100ml, there is a dilemma. You can get Cool Water for much cheaper, which after an hour is even in quality. Or if you are going to spend a lot of money on a fragrance anyway, just get Green Irish Tweed.

There are differences in Chez Bond, but not enough differences to recommend owning both or all three.

If this were $100, it would be worth the buy, but like a lot of Bond products, this is overpriced for what you get.

You'll hear a fair amount of negative, but I happen to like it a lot. Probably one of my favorites from Bond. It is worth a try.

Green Irish Tweed> Cool Water> Chez Bond.

Green Irish Tweed is much better IMO.

Can anyone discribe the similarities and differences?

GIT is sharper, the citrus more pronounced. Chez Bond has more of a tea-vibe going on and dries down a bit creamier. I find them similar in that they both are citrusy/green scents with violet in the middle and sandalwood in the base, but I've never understood people saying Chez Bond is a clone - that's like saying a Nissan 370z is a clone of a Mustang because they're both fast, have four wheels, a steering wheel, etc. Yes, the similarities are there, but so aren't the differences.

Chez Bond is the first Bond I ever purchased back when it came out in 2003 and the bottle isn't like one I've seen since (instead of being centered, the name "Bond No. 9" is printed in the lower right hand corner.

I really like it. I currently have GIT, but when it's out I will pick up a bottle of Chez. I find them close enough to be redundant, even though there are differences.

It's very nice. A little more tea in the drydown than GIT, but they are very similar, and Chez Bond has better longevity.

For the ones around the wearer? Like Cool Water (seriously).

Exactly.

It's no GIT, that's for sure.

Listen....its def not GIT. But if youre like me and tired of the inconsistent bs from Creed its def worth the buy. I bought a 1.7oz bottle from Fragrancenet for $80. It smells similiar (same family) fresh and clean for daytime/summer use. It last longer on my skin and im satisfied. Doesnt have the salty property of GIT but im done with Creed. Montale, TF, Dior, Bond are all good houses that offer quality scents that project and last well. Bmw, benz, audi, lexus....whats the difference. Most folks driving hyundais.

If you like GIT then buy GIT because there's nothing that you'll buy that'll replace it. If your looking for a more modern or different take on GIT, then Cereus No.7 and Kiton Men are excellent examples. I'd take Cool Water over Chez Bond.

I prefer GIT because it smells more natural. Chez Bond is also very nice though. I can't stand the cheap waxy drydown of Cool Water.

I tend to agree with the above.

However, Green Irish Tweed is a more dark and mysterious scent whereas Chez Bond is a bright and mellow fragrance. They share similarities, but are quite distinct as well. Regrettably, two of those distinctions are Chez Bond's limited projection and subpar longevity.

Cool Water is a GIT wannabe.

I live in NYC and have visited Bond's store on Madison Avenue a number of times and always test Chez Bond. I'm a huge fan of GIT--it's my signature fragrance and one I can't live without--and find them similar in the opening but very different in the dry down. Overall, I prefer GIT, but I could easily have Chez Bond in my collection as an alternative. Oh, don't buy Chez Bond due to claims it lasts longer--it doesn't in my opinion. I actually think GIT has a lot more strength.

Both are similar in longevity. In fact I think GIT has better projection as well.

I'm a big fan of Chez Bond. I own C Bond, GIT, & Cool Water, and Chez Bond is easily my favorite for this type of fresh fougere scent. GIT is ok, but I honestly hate ambergris, and find it sour/sweaty and animalic smelling. So while I like GIT's super fresh violet top and smooth sandalwood mid notes, I just don't care much for the ambergris base (it just doesn't feel "clean" to me. It feels a bit sweaty). But on the other hand, I adore Chez Bond's drydown. It's sweeter, cleaner, more modern, and is just really soothing and smooth to me. Also, as with most all of the Bond scents, a little bit literally lasts forever. I love Bond's edp strength fragrances.

Anyway, I do enjoy & wear all three since I like this genre, but to me, Chez Bond is my favorite and is a perfected, updated version of GIT & Cool Water.

The opening of Chez Bond is vey similar to GIT. However, once it dries down, CB becomes synthetically sweet. Not sure what it is, but it's off putting and makes me want to wash it off. I much prefer GIT.

Overall, not impressed by the Bond house. Only one I really like is New York Oud. New Haarlem isn't bad either.

I'd really like to sample Harrods Oud sometime, heard some good things about it.

First off, this is one of the only Bond fragrances I can stand. I actually enjoy it. I don't get these comparisons to GIT at all, they are both very different. I prefer GIT, but Chez is worth noting.

I've been fiddling around with these kinds of frags lately and I'd like to know who the first person was who compared GIT to CW. Perhaps they both have quite a bit of dihydromyrcenol and they both have clear lavender notes. Is that it? If I want a cheap GIT type frag, however, I'll reach for Bobby Jones Cologne. CW has strong neroli and clear tobacco notes, which are totally absent in GIT, for example. I hope to sample CB soon so I'll report back on that one if I do.

While I agree that GIT is more natural and higher quality, I personally find Chez Bond's modern twist and smooth sweetness more wearable. Count me in as a fan.
